'A consignment comprising of 10 tonnes of humanitarian assistance, which includes essential medicines, surgical items, hospital essentials and biomedical equipment has departed for Somalia.'

'As part of its 'Act East Policy', India sends humanitarian assistance of 5 MT Black-eyed Cowpea Seeds to our Pacific partner Fiji to support agricultural production.

MEA turns down request for delegation to Yemen citing legal, security constraints in Nimisha Priya case
NEW DELHI: The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has denied a request from the Save Nimisha Priya International Action Council to send a five-member delegation to Yemen to negotiate the release of Nimisha Priya, the Indian nurse facing a death sentence in the war-torn country. In a formal communication, the MEA cited serious security concerns, the absence of diplomatic relations with the authorities in Sana'a, and a recent Supreme Court directive which held that such negotiations must be conducted solely between Priya's family and the family of the Yemeni victim. 'The Indian Embassy in Yemen has been relocated to Riyadh due to the disturbed security situation,' the MEA said. 'The Ministry is concerned about the delegation's safety and well-being. The security situation in Sana'a remains tenuous, and recent regional developments have made matters more challenging.'

Nagpur: Vijay Chauthaiwale, in-charge of BJP's foreign affairs department, described the 2009 Indo-Pak bilateral meeting in Egypt as the lowest point in India's foreign policy. Speaking at an event organized by the Late Prakash Rajurkar Memorial Trust in Nagpur, Chauthaiwale said the joint statement issued after the meeting between then PM Manmohan Singh and his Pakistani counterpart Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani undermined India's anti-terrorism stance. Quoting from the statement, he said it allowed dialogue to continue despite Pakistan's alleged involvement in terrorism, effectively bracketing terrorism with talks. "That meeting was a diplomatic concession to Pakistan at a time when it didn't deserve one," he said. Chauthaiwale, who hails from Nagpur, outlined how India's foreign policy under PM Narendra Modi had evolved from that time. He emphasised the growing importance of the India-Middle East-Europe Corridor (IMEEC), calling it a potential gamechanger.
