Lexus India has announced the reopening of bookings for the LM 350h. The Lexus LM 350h was launched in India in March 2024. However later in September 2024, the bookings for the luxury MPV were halted in order to cater to the existing orders amid the ongoing supply challengES.
Hikaru Ikeuchi, President of Lexus India, acknowledged customers' patience and ongoing interest in the LM 350h, noting that the reopening of bookings reflects the demand for the model. He said the decision also aligns with Lexus India's focus on meeting customer expectations and providing products that cater to evolving preferences for refined and distinctive mobility experiences.

The Lexus LM 350h was launched in India priced between ₹ 2-2.5 crore (ex-showroom). The luxurious offering promises an extremely comfortable cabin with the second row inspired by an aircraft's first-class seat. The model is based on the GA-K modular platform and gets the Lexus treatment with the massive spindle grille, sharply-styled LED headlamps and vertically stacked fog lamps. The 'Luxury Mover' offers the option of a four-seater configuration and comes equipped with aircraft-style recliner seats, a 23-speaker surround sound system, pillow-style headrests, a refrigerator and a 48-inch television. The cabin also packs fold-out tables, heated armrests, USB ports, wireless phone chargers, reading lights, vanity mirrors, and an umbrella holder.

The Lexus LM 350h comes with an adaptive suspension while there's a new sensor-based climate control feature, which will adjust the cabin temperature according to the passenger's body. After red flags, YEIDA green signal to new Film City plan
Noida: Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) on Monday approved the revised layout map for the Film City project, just days after raising multiple objections over land use violations and missing clearances. The Authority had on May 27 rejected the layout submitted by the Boney Kapoor-led consortium, citing violations of green area norms and lack of mandatory certificates. On Monday, however, officials said the developer had rectified land use discrepancies, provided a fire no-objection certificate (NOC) and structural safety clearance, and ensured 15% green cover as mandated — paving the way for the Rs 10,000-crore project to take off. "The revised layout plan now complies with all terms and conditions, including the requisite NOCs for fire safety and structural stability. It also adheres to the approved land-use plan. That is why we approved the layout," said Arun Vir Singh, YEIDA CEO. "Only phase 1 of the project, covering the industrial area, is being approved right now," he added. The first phase of development — spanning 80 acres — will focus on establishing a film institute and studios. The entire project, spread across 230 acres in Sector 21, has set aside 155 acres for industrial purposes and 75 acres for commercial use. Of the industrial portion, 21 acres are earmarked for the film institute and 134 acres for other film-related facilities. The earlier layout had drawn criticism from authorities for altering designated green areas and proposing commercial constructions in zones meant for parks and open spaces. Under the concession agreement, large-scale commercial construction would be allowed only if 15% of the core film infrastructure — studios, production units, and the institute — is complete. These facilities must be ready in three years, according to the agreement. A senior YEIDA official said the developer must follow a phase-wise plan, ensuring that film-related facilities come up first. "No permission will be granted for commercial complexes, such as malls, hotels, or resorts, without it," the official added. Ashish Bhutani, CEO of the Bhutani Group, said development would proceed in keeping with the concession agreement. "We have addressed all concerns raised by the Authority earlier," he added. Bayview Bhutani Film City Pvt Ltd — the consortium of filmmaker Boney Kapoor and Bhutani Group — is planning to hold the groundbreaking ceremony before June 30. Kapoor said he was planning to invite CM Yogi Adityanath to the groundbreaking ceremony. "We have plans aim to complete the first phase within 18 months and begin shooting thereafter," Kapoor said. At the proposed institute and studio, local residents will be trained in various aspects of filmmaking, such as camera work, direction, art, costume and so on. "Moving a crew of 100 to 200 people from one location to another adds to production costs. If we can find trained professionals here in Noida, we can reduce the crew size to around 50. This will not only create local employment opportunities but also make film production more economical," he added. The Film City's strategic location, just 4km from the upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar, could prove to be a game-changer for the region's entertainment industry.

Army to get new air defence boost with Rs 30,000 crore QR-SAM deal
NEW DELHI: The defence ministry will soon take up the case for a preliminary nod to a Rs 30,000 crore proposal to procure three regiments of the new indigenous quick reaction surface to air missile (QR-SAM) systems for the Army. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now The Rajnath Singh-led defence acquisitions council will consider granting acceptance of necessity (AoN) for the highly-mobile QR-SAM systems, which are designed to intercept hostile fighters, helicopters and drones at a range up to 25-30 km, later this month. The move comes soon after India's existing multi-layered air defence network played a crucial role in thwarting multiple waves of Turkish-origin drones and Chinese missiles launched by Pakistan during Operation Sindoor - the May 7-10 hostilities. The and the Army have over the last three-four years tested the QR-SAM systems against high-speed aerial targets mimicking various types of threats to evaluate their capability under different day and night operational scenarios. Defence PSUs Bharat Electronics and Bharat Dynamics will co-produce the QR-SAM systems. "The QR-SAM systems can operate on the move with search and track capability and fire at short halts. They are tailor-made to move along with tanks and infantry combat vehicles to provide them air defence in the tactical battlefield," an official said. The Army Air Defence (AAD), which performed exceedingly well during Operation Sindoor, in fact, requires 11 regiments of the QR-SAM, even as it progressively also inducts regiments of the indigenous Akash system, which has an interception range of about 25-km at present. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now The induction of the QR-SAM systems will add to the existing air defence network of the IAF and the Army, which ranges from the long-range Russian S-400 'Triumf' surface-to-air missile systems (380 km interception range) and Barak-8 medium range SAM systems (70 km), jointly developed with Israel, to the Russian shoulder-fired Igla-S missiles (6 km), the upgraded L-70 anti-aircraft guns (3.5 km) and the indigenous integrated drone detection and interdiction systems (1km-2 km). While the DRDO is also readying the very short-range air defence missile systems (VSHORADS), which have a 6 km interception range, the real game-changer will be an air defence system with a 350 km range being developed under the ambitious Project Kusha. India plans to operationally deploy this long-range system by 2028-2029, with the defence ministry in Sept 2023 approving the AoN for procurement of five of its squadrons for the IAF at a cost of Rs 21,700 crore, as was first reported by TOI.
