Lexus India has announced the reopening of bookings for the LM 350h. The Lexus LM 350h was launched in India in March 2024. However later in September 2024, the bookings for the luxury MPV were halted in order to cater to the existing orders amid the ongoing supply challengES.
Hikaru Ikeuchi, President of Lexus India, acknowledged customers' patience and ongoing interest in the LM 350h, noting that the reopening of bookings reflects the demand for the model. He said the decision also aligns with Lexus India's focus on meeting customer expectations and providing products that cater to evolving preferences for refined and distinctive mobility experiences.

The Lexus LM 350h was launched in India priced between ₹ 2-2.5 crore (ex-showroom). The luxurious offering promises an extremely comfortable cabin with the second row inspired by an aircraft's first-class seat. The model is based on the GA-K modular platform and gets the Lexus treatment with the massive spindle grille, sharply-styled LED headlamps and vertically stacked fog lamps. The 'Luxury Mover' offers the option of a four-seater configuration and comes equipped with aircraft-style recliner seats, a 23-speaker surround sound system, pillow-style headrests, a refrigerator and a 48-inch television. The cabin also packs fold-out tables, heated armrests, USB ports, wireless phone chargers, reading lights, vanity mirrors, and an umbrella holder.

The Lexus LM 350h comes with an adaptive suspension while there's a new sensor-based climate control feature, which will adjust the cabin temperature according to the passenger's body. Powering the LM 350h is the 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol-hybrid motor tuned for 246 bhp and 239 Nm of peak torque, paired with an eCVT automatic transmission. The engine works with a nickel-metal hydride battery for higher efficiency, while sending power to all four wheels via the All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system.

E-commerce, tech startups to lead fresher hiring in India for Jul-Dec: Report
Mumbai, Aug 19 (PTI) E-commerce and technology startups are expected to lead fresher hiring in India in the second half of 2025, with 88 per cent of employers showing intent to recruit, a report said on Tuesday. The report titled 'Career Outlook Report (HY2 2025)' by TeamLease EdTech said that there is a strong job market for freshers, with retail (87 per cent) and manufacturing (82 per cent) following closely behind startups, which reflects broad demand for young talent across sectors. "The strong hiring intent in e-commerce & Technology startups reflects the dynamic growth in this sector, creating exciting opportunities for freshers. "As industries evolve with technology, freshers who blend technical expertise with adaptability and human skills will find themselves well-positioned. The rise in degree apprenticeship programmes further underscores the demand for practical, skill-based learning pathways," TeamLease EdTech founder and CEO Shantanu Rooj said. The Career Outlook Report (HY2 2025) by TeamLease EdTech is based on inputs from 1,065 employers across sectors during May and July. The report further revealed that the overall fresher hiring intent has slightly softened to 70 per cent for July-December 2025, from 74 per cent during January-June 2025, following AI-led workforce restructuring, global trade uncertainties, and a strategic focus on retaining experienced talent in core industries. However, opportunities for freshers remained robust in high-growth sectors, it added. Meanwhile, the report noted a steady rise in demand for degree apprentices, with Manufacturing (37 per cent), Engineering and Infrastructure (29 per cent), and Information Technology (18 per cent) leading the way. Bengaluru, Chennai, and Pune are at the forefront of apprenticeship hiring intent at 37 per cent, 30 per cent, and 26 per cent, respectively. Smaller organisations are also displaying a notable inclination to hire freshers compared to larger enterprises, though their hiring capacity remains relatively limited, the report said.

Parliament passes Mines and Minerals Amendment Bill
Parliament on Tuesday (August 19, 2025) passed the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2025 that aims to further liberalise, modernise and make India's mineral sector more dynamic, especially with a focus on critical and strategic minerals. The Bill, which seeks to amend the original Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957, was passed in Lok Sabha on August 12. Rajya Sabha passed it with a voice vote. About 19 members participated in the debate and shared some constructive suggestions. Replying to the debate on the Bill, Union Minister of Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy said the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government has taken revolutionary reforms in the coal and mine sector in the last ten years. In critical minerals, the country is dependent on imports due to less reserves in India. With demand for critical minerals expected to rise further, the government is focusing on enhancing domestic production and exploring overseas market to secure the supplies, he added. One of the key amendments in the Bill is renaming of the National Mineral Exploration Trust as the National Mineral Exploration and Development Trust, and its scope has been expanded to fund exploration and development both domestically and internationally. "A forward looking reform, which has been hanging fire for very long time. This Bill is not just about minerals, it is about securing India's economic security, future and ensuring development in more transparent and sustainable way," BJP leader Kiran Choudhary said during the debate on the Bill. India is the world's third largest in the mineral wealth. Yet the mining sector is constrained by outdated laws, fragmented leases, lack of accountability. The Bill is important as it addresses all these gaps, she said. The Bill balances development with sustainability and provides for community participation and welfare of people in the mining areas, she added.
