Relebohile Mofokeng to join Mohau Nkota in Saudi
Nkota left the Buccaneers after one season to join Saudi outfit Al-Ettifaq. The 20-year-old has had a fantastic season with Pirates, scoring five goals and providing seven assists in 39 matches across all competitions.
On Friday, Unplayable reported that Nkota's former teammate Mofokeng could also join him in Saudi this transfer period.
'Unpalayable can confirm Relebohile Mofokeng is set to join Mohau Nkota at Saudi club, Al-Ettifaq. Based on information we've received from an impeccable source in Saudi Arabia, negotiations are ongoing,' the publication reported on X.
Mofokeng has been one of Orlando Pirates' best players in the past two years, helping them reach the CAF Champions League semi-finals. He has made close to 100 appearances for the Buccaneers across all competitions in three years and has won four trophies with the Soweto giants.
Relebohile Mofokeng moving to Saudi Arabia might not be his dream move, as he was tipped to play in Europe's big leagues. Earlier this week, Soccer Laduma reported that Dutch giants PSV were keen to bring in the attacker for R100 million but the Buccaneers have since rubbished those claims.
Orlando Pirates are still in Spain, concluding their pre-season camp before returning to South Africa. Relebohile Mofokeng is expected to return with the squad unless a deal is made in the coming days.

And just like every other season, the upcoming one will not be any different. Despite a lot of movement from their rivals in the transfer market, Sundowns' relatively quiet incoming traffic may work in their favour. Last season was one of the few campaigns where they were run close, and despite a slow start to the season, their finish made a massive statement as they comfortably clinched their eighth consecutive title in the end. With their sights also set on domestic trophies and the CAF Champions League, it will be yet another season where it's tough for the chased to knock them off their pedestal. They will head into the season once again with their cards stacked nicely for them. Here we will unpack three key reasons why they will likely continue their dominance in the coming season. Minimal change from last season There has been a lot made of Orlando Pirates' many new arrivals, with a host of impressive signings making their way into the home of the former CAF Champions League winners. Despite the excitement and the expectation that comes with all those signings, there will also be a concerning factor in terms of how long it might take for all the new arrivals to gel. Add to that the presence of a new coach in Abdeslam Ouaddou, and it's clear Pirates may need time to hit top gear.

New coach Abdeslam Ouaddou leads Orlando Pirates as Thalente Mbatha sets personal targets
His skillset was also honed by coach Jose Riveiro who's since left the club and joined Egyptian Al Ahly club. Since arriving at Pirates 18 months ago, Mbatha has embodied his name - showcasing his talent and endearing himself to the football fraternity. Orlando Pirates' midfielder Thalente Mbatha says he should be mentally strong and focused next season if he's to achieve the targets he's set for himself. Just 2 days to go until Giants hit your screens ☠️ 📆 Sunday, 27 July 📺 21:00 on SuperSport & Mzansi Magic ⚫⚪🔴⭐ #OrlandoPirates #OnceAlways #giantsondstv New coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has also rolled his sleeves and quickly got to work as he led the team when they intensified their preparations for next season with a two-week tour of Spain. Pirates needed the tour as they must be at their best next season and compete for all trophies up for grabs, including the Betway Premiership and CAF Champions League. Mbatha, moreover, has to be at his best in club football to ensure that he makes Bafana Bafana final squad that will compete at Afcon in Morocco later in the year. 'For me, personally, it's going to be a very interesting year. It's not going to be easy,' Mbatha explained. 'So, it's something that I should be prepared for mentally. 'It's a year where everything can happen in a blink of an eye or go down. So, I believe that I should continue to stay focused and work hard. 'We play a sport that has a short span, so I believe that if you take care of yourself, then I will be able to do the right things and achieve whatever I want to.' Mbatha wants to work hard to ensure that he's also considered for individual awards next season such as the Midfielder of the Season after missing out on a nomination last campaign. 'I wouldn't put it that way, but I believe that I did what I needed to do during the season,' said Mbatha on whether he was disappointing with his omission. 'The people that are in the category, I think they also deserve it because they've actually been competing for their respective clubs. 'For me, it's about continuing working hard, and who knows what will happen? As you know, I think of this as another stepping stone - I am still young and able to showcase my talent.'
