Juventus enter the frame with inquiry for Barcelona transfer target
The enquiry was made on Wednesday, July 16, marking the start of what could become one of the most interesting transfer battles of the window.
Rashford, currently owned by Manchester United, spent part of last season on loan at Aston Villa. During his short spell there, he recorded 2 goals and 3 assists in just 10 Premier League games, helping himself get back into form after a difficult period.
However, his future remains uncertain, mainly because of his high salary and the significant transfer fee United are asking for.
Barcelona interested, but Juventus make first move
For a long time, it has been clear that Rashford wants to play for Barcelona. He has privately told those close to him that his dream is to join Lamine Yamal and the rest of Barça's exciting attack.
Even Deco, Barcelona's sporting director, openly said back in May that the club 'liked' Rashford.

After failing to land their top target, Nico Williams, who has signed a new contract with Athletic Club, Barcelona are now looking at other options. Rashford is high on their list because of his versatility.
He can play out wide, offering support to Yamal and Raphinha, but he is also capable of filling in for Robert Lewandowski as the central striker. This flexibility makes him an ideal candidate for the Catalan side.
Barcelona are yet to move
Manchester United, however, are asking for £40 million, a figure that is considered manageable compared to Williams' price.
Despite this, Barcelona have yet to make an official move. It is believed that they might be working behind the scenes on a loan deal, but United prefer to sell Rashford outright and move on from him completely.
With Juventus now in the picture, Barcelona may need to act fast if they truly want to land Rashford. The coming weeks will be crucial, as the transfer window starts to heat up.

Who will England play in the Euros final and when is it on?
England Women's team have been congratulated by royalty and politicians after they made it to the final of Euro 2025. The Lionesses beat Italy 2-1 in Geneva on Tuesday evening in a nail-biting match that was anyone's game until a late winner in the second half of extra time. England were on the brink of elimination when 19-year-old Michelle Agyemang came off the bench and rescued Sarina Wiegman's side with a second-half stoppage-time equaliser. They were given a penalty in the final minutes of extra time and, though Chloe Kelly's initial attempt was saved, the Arsenal forward made no mistake when she buried the rebound, securing a place in the final. A message from The King to Sarina Wiegman, the mighty @Lionesses and all in their support team, following their success in this evening's Women's Euros semi-final.#WEURO2025 — The Royal Family (@RoyalFamily) July 22, 2025 The King and Queen sent the team their 'warmest congratulations', adding: 'Your journey to this stage has been nothing short of remarkable, showcasing the skill, determination (and test of nerve!) for which your team is so rightly celebrated. 'Knowing the Lionesses' fighting spirit, I suspect we are in for another thrilling encounter on Sunday. 'Your achievements continue to inspire countless girls and women across the nation, proving once again that with dedication and teamwork, anything is possible. What a performance, @Lionesses! Into the final and inspiring the nationLet's bring it home. — Keir Starmer (@Keir_Starmer) July 22, 2025 Prime minister Keir Starmer posted on X 'what a performance', adding: 'Into the final and inspiring the nation. Let's bring it home.' All eyes are now on the final, with the Lionesses attempting to do one better than the runner-up spot they reached in 2023. Who are England playing in the Euros final? England's opponents are not yet known as the second semi-final is yet to take place. However, that match – between Germany and Spain – will take place tonight. Should Spain secure victory over Germany, it will set up a re-run of the 2023 Women's World Cup final – where Spain beat the Lionesses, with a 1-0 victory. A Spain-England match would also be a repeat of the men's Euro final in 2024 – when Spain again beat England 2-1. If Germany win their semi-final, it will mean a repeat of the Euro 2022 women's final, which saw the Lionesses win the cup by beating Germany 2-1. When is the Euro 2025 final? The final takes place on Sunday 27 July at St Jakob Park, Basel, Switzerland. Kick-off time will be earlier than the quarter-finals and semi-finals, with the match due to start at 5pm UK time. Coverage for the finals will kick off at 4pm. Where can I watch the final? The final will be broadcast live on both BBC One and ITV1. You will be able to watch both on live TV and through the digital arms of both channels – BBC iPlayer and ITVX. Scottish viewers will also be able to watch live on STV and STV Player. Pubs and bars across the country will also be airing the final, should you wish to cheer on England with a crowd. England's path to the Euro 2025 final The Lionesses got off to a shaky start as they began their title defence in this year's Euros. However, they went from strength to strength and the goals quickly began flowing – seeing some huge winning scorelines. 5 July – Group D: France 2 England 1 Goals from Marie-Antoinette Katoto and Sandy Baltimore in quick succession in the latter stages of the first half put France on course for a deserved win. Keira Walsh's late strike did not alter the outcome. 9 July – Group D: England 4 Netherlands 0 Lauren James scored twice as England improved and got their campaign up and running. Georgia Stanway and Ella Toone also got on the scoresheet in a commanding display that revived hope of reaching the last eight. 13 July – Group D: England 6 Wales 1 The Lionesses powered into the knockout stages with an emphatic victory that confirmed Wales' elimination. Stanway put them on course with a penalty before Toone, Lauren Hemp and Alessia Russo made it 4-0 at half-time. Beth Mead and Aggie Beever-Jones added to the tally either side of a Hannah Cain consolation. 17 July – Quarter-final: Sweden 2 England 2 (after extra time, won 3-2 on penalties) England survived a nail-biting penalty shoot-out after hauling themselves back from the brink of defeat. Late goals from Lucy Bronze and Michelle Agyemang forced extra time before yet another penalty drama. Just five penalties were scored from 14 taken and Sweden were twice one kick away from victory – but luck was with the Lionesses. 22 July – Semi-final: England 2 Italy 1 (after extra time) England started slowly and were behind at half-time to Barbara Bonansea's thumping finish after a defensive lapse. Agyemang equalised to force extra time and then hit the bar with a superb lob before fellow substitute Chloe Kelly had a penalty saved but followed up to score.

Grizz Khan and Gags Tandon Discuss Isak's Future on Chat G & G
Liverpool's Pursuit of Isak: Hope Flickers as Deal Hangs in Balance Liverpool's transfer ambitions under Arne Slot remain as bold as ever. Having secured the Premier League title in 2024-25, the club is now eyeing a statement signing in the form of Alexander Isak. The latest episode of the Chat G & G podcast, featuring Grizz Khan and Gags Tandon, dived into the murky waters of this potential blockbuster move. Isak Wants Liverpool, But Newcastle Hold the Power Gags Tandon wasted no time in laying out the current situation with Newcastle's star striker. 'I think it's now clear he doesn't want to be at Newcastle,' he said. 'I think now the Saudi owners know he doesn't want to be at Newcastle.' That desire, however, has been met with hard resistance. Grizz Khan explained, 'His club have said not for sale. Now we ask the question, not for sale at any price or not for sale at a certain price?' According to sources close to the player and reported by Newcastle-based journalists, 'Newcastle would not accept anything less than 150 million.' Despite that daunting valuation, Grizz confirmed that Liverpool are financially equipped for the challenge. 'Can we afford him? Yes. Do we want the player? Yes. Do we want him badly? It's very apparent. Yes. Does the player want us? It's very apparent now that he wants us.' The Player's Respectful Stance May Be a Hurdle The hosts made it clear that while Isak may want the move, he is yet to apply the kind of pressure often needed to engineer an exit. 'If he really does want to join Liverpool,' Gags said, 'he has to do enough to leave as well.' He added that Isak 'has an agent that doesn't mind pushing buttons,' yet asked, 'why isn't he doing it?' To which Grizz replied, 'It's a respect thing, man.' That point was reinforced when Grizz referenced a private conversation with Ben Jacobs: 'All the reports and all the sources close to and around the player suggest that he's not that type of player to make a noise but he's an ambitious player and he absolutely understands that these opportunities don't come around often.' Liverpool's Vision Continues to Attract Europe's Elite Both podcasters highlighted the allure of what Grizz called 'project Liverpool.' Gags Tandon used Florian Wirtz's recent signing to illustrate that point, stating: 'Florian Wirtz is a German international… had Bayern Munich after him… had Pep Guardiola after him. Yet he chose Liverpool and Arne Slot. If that's not project Liverpool 2025, I don't know what is.' That ambition, they argue, is what appeals to players like Isak. But Newcastle's reluctance to sell their 'crown jewel' is understandable too. Grizz explained, 'Newcastle fans expect him to give them at least a season in the Champions League… and if the crown jewel suddenly departs for Liverpool… it's not a great look for the owners.' Deal Still Alive, But Time is Running Out While many reputable journalists have reported that Liverpool have pulled out of the race, Grizz pushed back on that narrative. 'Even a poor pundit and a bluffer like me will tell you we haven't moved away from the table,' he said. He added that 'Ben Jacobs just done a show today as well and he said Liverpool… we haven't given up on him. The situation is very fluid.' Gags wrapped up the discussion with a note of realism. 'It's not likely that we sign Isak, but until there's a possibility, keep hope alive. That's all I'm saying.' Liverpool's interest in Alexander Isak remains a live wire. The financials are there, the intent is clear and the player is keen. But unless Isak and his agent push harder and Newcastle's ownership shift stance, this one may remain just out of reach.
