Celebrities love these beauty products (and they're all under £10)
Celebrity makeup artist Caroline Barnes says she has seen huge growth in the performance – and popularity – of low price skincare in recent years. 'Low-cost skincare and makeup has dramatically improved in the last five years or so,' she says. 'The pigments used are far superior now, the colours are better and it wears well throughout the day.'
Indeed advances in technology combined with increased competition in the marketplace means it's easier than ever to find an impressive product in the bargain aisles of Superdrug and Boots. Here are some celebrity favourites worth considering for your bathroom cabinet.
Inkey List Caffeine Eye Cream, £7.95
Reese Witherspoon and Scarlett Johansson are among the celebrity fans of this eye cream - which includes caffeine, a natural anti-oxidant which may help reduce puffiness and dark circles. Witherspoon's makeup artist can be frequently found on Instagram explaining how she also uses it under the eyes to prevent concealer from creasing. A great new find.

NYX Professional Makeup 'Worth the Hype' Waterproof Mascara, £9.50
Holly Willoughby' s makeup artist Patsy O' Neill calls Worth The Hype, 'An ideal mascara for short lashes in need of added length and volume. 'The brush coats even the smallest lash hairs,' she explains, 'without feeling heavy or clumping together. At this price it's definitely worth a try.'
While you're looking at the brand, also check out the NYX Professional Buttermelt Blush, £8.99, from Boots a stalwart of many makeup artists' kits. The product texture is standout, a soft, buttery powder available in many pretty colours and it behaves like a really expensive product. Caroline Barnes often uses this on Kylie Minogue.

Weleda Skin Food, £9.50
Celebrity fans of this rich, balmy cream include Adele, Hailey Bieber and Victoria Beckham who posted a photograph of herself on Instagram using it as an inflight mask to keep her skin hydrated and moisturised. This brand has been growing organic plants for over a century and is synonymous with thoughtful and sustainable products. I love the calendula and chamomile fragrance of this balm and always have a tube in my bathroom cabinet. It's also great on elbows or dry, cracked heels.
Aveeno Daily Moisturising Body Lotion, £9
This hardworking product has a plethora of high profile fans including Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Aniston who has said she thinks she's been using this body moisturiser since she was 15 years old. Very good for sensitive skins, this unscented body lotion is moisturising and blended with calming oatmeal.
Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Rose, £6.49,
Margot Robbie told British Vogue that she is relatively low-maintenance when 'off-duty' and likes to use this inexpensive Burt's Bees lip balm made from beeswax, coconut oil and shea butter in Rose colour which gives lips a pretty, natural rosy glow.
L'Oreal Paris Lumi Le Glass Highlighter Stick, £8.60,
Actress Elle Fanning's makeup artist said she used this highlighter on the actress at this year's Golden Globes. A good makeup bag staple for touch-ups throughout the day, the colour isn't at all frosty and the texture feels expensive. Use it on the high part of the cheekbones, on the bridge of the nose or on the cupid's bow.
Weleda Citrus Hand and Nail Cream, £9.98
Helen Mirren told British Vogue she always has a little tube of this hand cream in her 'swagger' bag - the name she gives her makeup bag. Mirren says she loves the uplifting lemony scent of this rich emollient which instantly sinks into parched, dry hands. Perfect at this time of year.
Pond's Moisturising Cold Cream, £6.99
Celebrity fans of this moisturiser include Kylie and Dolly Parton who says she always goes back to this it even though she has lots of more expensive ones. It's a blend of mineral oil and water and has a really creamy texture and it can also be used as a makeup remover.

Gwyneth Paltrow supports son Moses as he follows in Chris Martin's footsteps
The youngest child of a well-known musician and his acting ex-wife is following in the footsteps of his father by being in a band, who performed at a gig in the US this week The son of a well-known musician is now following in their footsteps by their pursuing a career in music. They took to the stage with their band at a concert earlier this week and their Oscar-winning mother was there for support. Moses Martin, 19, is the youngest child of Coldplay 's Chris Martin, 48, and actor Gwyneth Paltrow, 52. The exes, who split in 2014 before getting divorce, but who have remained on good terms, are also parents to Apple Martin, 21. Like his father, Moses is a member of a band, with him one third of trio Dancer. His group performed at a concert in Chicago recently whilst supporting another band. It comes after Chris issued a warning to his own fans during his first gig with Coldplay since a kiss cam scandal earlier this month. Moses' band Dancer took to the stage at the Thalia Hall in Chicago last night. Alongside his bandmates Orlando and Andy, he opened for duo Royel Otis - who are due to perform at Reading Festival and Leeds Festival soon - at the venue. Prior to the gig, Dancer posted about their appearance on platforms like Instagram. Alongside a video of the trio performing together whilst sat on the back of a truck, they shared details of the gig with their followers. "I love this band," one person reacted to the post. Another wrote in the comments section: "Amazing." Someone else responded to the band's post: "See ya there." Someone else asked: "How can I listen to your songs???" Dancer teased over potential music being released soon, with the band's account replying: "Soon." Gwyneth liked the post and shared her excitement over the upcoming gig in the comments section. Teasing that she would be there to support her son, she wrote: "Can't wait." She later revealed that she was at the show in a post on her own account on the platform. The actor uploaded a photo that was seemingly taken backstage at the venue last night. It showed three microphone kits, each with a band member's name on, and Gwyneth didn't provide any caption. More recently, in a post uploaded to her Instagram Story earlier today, she shared a photo of the band on stage. Gwyneth shared her pride over Moses being a musician in a tribute for his birthday on the platform back in April. She wrote at the time: "Happy birthday [Moses]. Honestly, you are a dream come true. You are deeply kind and brilliant." She continued by writing to him: "You have an incredible intellect and you are so gifted, so talented. I listen to your music on repeat and miss you so much at college. And today more than ever. I love you my boy."

Adam Collard feared Laura Woods' miscarriage was 'karma' for his love-rat past
Former Love Island star Adam Collard has admitted he blames his past "love rat" ways for bringing "bad karma" onto his relationship with sports presenter Laura Woods Adam Collard has revealed he blames his past actions for fiancee Laura Woods having a miscarriage. The former Love Island star admitted he believes his previous "love rat" persona brought "bad karma" on the pair. The Geordie star, 29, confessed he believes his dating show antics on the likes of the ITV show - where he appeared twice - and Celebs Go Dating brought negative energy onto his current relationship. The gym owner is set to be put through his paces on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, taking part in a series of gruelling physical challenges. Speaking on the new series, dad-of-one Adam explained his thought process. He told the cameras: "I know it's a terrible way to look at it, but I felt like it was bad karma for me being on dating shows and upsetting too many people. "I felt like that was some high power's way of being like, 'Well, there you go, that's what you have to carry'." He went on: "I was just a cocky little p***k, being a love rat jumping from girl to girl. I want to show I'm not that man any more." And revealing why he chose to test himself on the endurance show, the fitness fanatic explained it was the mental test he desired. "'I had a lot of stuff going on before I went on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins," he said. "And I've got to be honest but credit to the show, I actually think it had the most positive impact on my mental health." Adam began dating sports presenter Laura in October 2023. The following year they announced they were expecting their first child and in April 2025 they welcomed their son Leo. The pair have both kept their followers up to date with their family life and at the turn of the year, Adam posted a candid message on his social media. At the time, he wrote: "2024, the hardest year of my life." He went on: "I've seen lot of amazing 2024 posts over the last few days... but if you're struggling right now, remember that Instagram is a highlights reel, and if you're struggling you aren't alone. "Struggled with my mental health more than ever. Lost something important. Struggled with injuries. Suffered with addiction to painkillers and sleeping pills and justified it as 'it doesn't affect fitness' or because it wasn't booze. "Got diagnosed with depression. Prescribed anti-depressants. Lost family. Drifted from certain friends. Tried to reach out to people and failed. Felt lost." But he admitted he also had a lot to be positive about, including his son and relationship. At the time, Laura issued a gushing response. In the comments section, replying: "Proud of you. You're going to be the most amazing dad x."
