I found a way to get £55 'facial in a bottle' serum for £7.50 in LookFantastic's summer edit
The Summer Heroes Edit is priced at £45 yet valued at over £150, boasting savings of more than £100
Inside the LookFantastic Summer Heores edit for £45
It feels as though there's a new beauty box released every single week, with high street favourites often battling it out to offer the best value for money and most exciting, relevant and sought-after products. And this week, I've taken a peek inside LookFantastic's Summer Heroes Edit, which delivers a rather covetable haul of makeup and skincare for under £50.
The edit is priced at £45 yet valued at over £150, boasting savings of more than £100. It not only balances indulgence and practicality, but also a great mix of higher end and more affordable brands too, ranging from Color Wow and Caudalie, to Iconic and Sol de Janeiro.
Four of the six items are full-sized, meaning they'll see you right the way through the summer months and beyond, and as part of the set, each one works out at £7.50 apiece. It's pretty impressive, seeing as the featured ESPA Optimal Skin Pro Serum is worth £55 alone.

LookFantastic's edits are often popular with shoppers - and for good reason - but there are some other beauty hauls that offer even better value when it comes to the average cost-per-item. ASOS recently launched their Luxury Travel Essentials Beauty Box for £40. It's worth £135 and contains eight products from top brands, including Elemis, Laneige, Sol de Janeiro and Elizabeth Arden, each averaging at £5 a pop.
Then there's Boots' Get Holiday Ready Bag, valued at £124.50. The seven-piece edit is priced at £32, which means each item averages out at £4.57- making it slightly better value than ASOS, not to mention it's the cheapest of all three. Brands featured include Sol de Janeiro and Laneige, but also Milk, Bobbi Brown, MAC and more.
But the LookFantastic set has been flooded with compliments from shoppers who ordered it. In fact, almost every review has been five stars, save for a single four-star rating. One shopper said: 'This box was worth it for the Espa and Color Wow products alone. Such a lovely little affordable luxury, any one of these items would be considered a 'treat' to myself usually."
The ESPA and Color Wow products are what impressed me and many other shoppers the most
Another added: 'Brought this box as I wanted to try the Espa serum, which is amazing. Have tried all the other products, which are equally as good. I love trying new products. Will buy a second one.'
One said that the Sol de Janeiro cream was 'smaller than I expected', but still rated the edit five stars, adding: 'I love all the products especially the bronzing drops.' While a fourth penned: 'Amazing value box, I had to buy two. It's worth it for the Espa serum alone!'
A personal favourite of mine was the inclusion of the Color Wow Pop & Lock High Gloss Finish, worth £22.50. Among its fans is Claudia Winkleman's stylist, Amy Short, who revealed she uses it on The Traitors' star to achieve her covetable shine. I've used the mini version for months and love how it effortlessly tames flyaways while adding shine without making my hair greasy, so the box made for a great opportunity to stock up on the full size.
The products inside the box are worth a combined £150
The Caudalie Beauty Elixir is another must-have in my summer beauty arsenal. It's a fantastic multi-functional product that can be used as a toner, setting spray or midday refresh. Its spa-like botanical scent and skin-calming properties make it a staple that I find myself reaching for repeatedly throughout the day.
The box's hero product, the ESPA Optimal Skin Pro Serum is ideal for anyone battling dry skin, made worse by the humid weather. It delivers hydration and radiance in a formula that feels like a facial in a bottle. It's no wonder multiple shoppers snapped up a second box for this product alone.

No summer edit would be complete without a nod to the beach-body classic, Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream. It is only a small tub, but it's the perfect size for traveling and the scent is insanely addictive. There's also Eucerin's Sun Face Pigment Control SPF 50 - a lightweight SPF that provides sun protection while sitting beautifully under makeup.
The only product in the edit I wasn't sold by were Iconic London's Instant Sunshine Bronzing Drops. The button used to dispense the product had broken which made it tricky to use the product, and when I did manage to get some out, I found it way too dark for my skin tone. That's not to say that others wouldn't love it, though.
A recap of what's in the Edit:
Article continues below
ESPA Optimal Skin Pro Serum 30ml (Full-Size) - Worth £55
Eucerin Sun Face Pigment Control SPF 50 50ml (Full-Size) - Worth £24
Iconic London Instant Sunshine Bronzing Drops 13ml(Full-Size) - Worth £22
Color Wow Pop & Lock High Gloss Finish 55ml (Full-Size)- Worth Over £22
Caudalie Beauty Elixir 30ml (Deluxe-Size) - Worth £18
Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream 25ml (Deluxe-Size) - Worth £10
While there are beauty boxes available at the moment that are more affordable or offer better value for money than the Summer Heroes Edit, what I will say about it as a beauty writer who has reviewed dozens of edits is that this one does feel like it's been really thoughtfully created with products that effortlessly slot into everyday routines and feel relevant to the time of year. The majority of items are full-sized, and those that aren't are perfect for travelling with, plus it's a really great opportunity to indulge in high-end, high-performance products at a fraction of the cost.

'Effective and easy to use' LED mask has been slashed to under £57 in summer sale
Magnitone's LED mask has three colour settings and has been hailed 'effective and easy to use' by shoppers – and it's now on sale with 25% off, making it less than £57 If there's one skincare item that's become as commonplace in our routines as a good cleanser or moisturiser, it's an LED face mask. Once saved for pricey professional facials, there are now plenty of affordable at-home options to buy, with each one promising glowy, plumped and youthful skin with minimal effort from the comfort of your own home. Although there are definitely pricier options available, if you're looking for something that's affordable, easy to use and gets the job done, the Magnitone Get Lit Tri Colour Led Face Mask has been a firm favourite amongst LookFantastic shoppers. Plus, it's currently on sale with 25% off, slashing the price from £75 to £56.25. The Magnitone LED mask has three different LED light settings, with red, yellow and blue lights to choose from. These three target a range of different skin concerns, leaving your skin glowing, plumped and supple. The red light supports the skin's visible firmness and can reduce the appearance of fine lines. The yellow light reduces the look of redness and inflammation. The blue light targets oil producing follicles, making them less active and decongesting the skin to minimise visible post-blemish marks. If you want a greater choice of colours, the Silk'n Facial LED Mask 100 LEDS also has a major saving at LookFantastic now, with the price reduced from £160 to £99.99, saving you £60. As well as red, yellow and blue lights, it also has a purple setting which combines the effects of blue and red light as well as firming up your skin. You can also set it to automatic mode which uses all of the colours for a complete treatment, whilst manual mode selects one specific colour, allowing you to choose a targeted programme for your specific skin needs. The mask has a silicone design that sits closely on your face. If you're most worried about fine lines and anti-ageing, the LED Red Light Therapy Face Mask: Series 2 is a celebrity favourite amongst stars like Kim Kardashian and Victoria Beckham. Priced at £399, it's considerably pricier than the Magnitone one, but with such a famous fan base it's easy to see why it's a top choice for many. However if you're not a fan of the heavier silicone designs which sit close to your face, the Magnitone Get Lit Tri Colour Led Face Mask is ideal as it fits over your face like a pair of glasses would, sitting on your ears to hold it in place. The mask then sits in front of your face which is perfect if you find close fitting ones a little uncomfortable or claustrophobic. This also makes it easy to go about your day whilst you're waiting for your LED treatment to be done, whether you're lying back and relaxing or getting on with some household jobs. It only takes 15 minutes for your treatment to be complete, and the mask automatically shuts off once it's done so you don't need to worry about overdoing it. One shopper called it 'Effective and easy to use' before adding: 'I noticed a difference right after I used the 'Radiance' light colour. Hopefully the red will work long term. Love that it is portable and mess free.' Another wrote: 'I actually bought this version because I wanted one that I could use whilst pottering around the house! I already owned a version that was a lot more expensive but you cant really walk around whilst using it! This one has 3 colour options - it's very light weight compared to others I own. Think it's a good option if you want to try this sort of treatment without a big price tag! Happy I bought it!' Not everyone was as thrilled with the Magnitone Get Lit Tri Colour Led Face Mask, however, with one saying: 'Not very comfortable around the nose, leaves marks. I have a small face but it doesn't feel that my cheeks get enough of light. Didn't seem any difference for my wrinkles but blemishes heal quicker when using the red setting of the mask. Overall I like to put on the mask and just take time for myself.' Whilst someone else grumbled: 'Didn't see results I think it is not strong enough and doesn't touch the face.' However plenty of others loved it, writing: 'I love this face mask. I've had it for over a year now and whilst I don't use it consistently all the time, when I do I really do notice a difference. I tend to use the yellow and red light settings as I want to improve on my fine lines and wrinkles (red light) and add more luminosity to my ageing skin (yellow light). Well done magnitone. Such an affordable LED mask option.'

Shoppers call £30 Calvin Klein scent a 'vanilla lover's dream' that 'lasts all day'
'The scent is a lovely and subtle (not overpowering) balance of vanilla, and lasts a long time when I use it on my clothes and hair' Vanilla has long been one of the most timeless fragrance notes, loved for its warmth and sensuality that feels just as right for everyday wear as it does for a night out. One popular perfume is Calvin Klein's Nude Vanilla Body Mist, which shoppers are calling a 'dream for vanilla fans.' This fragrance, available for £30 via LookFantastic, Boots and Calvin Klein directly, is described as a 'sensual' mix of rich vanilla, musk accord and amber woods, giving it a warming vibe. The lightweight mist can also be spritzed onto hair, leaving locks smelling fresh and sexy throughout the day. Ideal for slipping into a handbag, it's perfect for top-ups on the go or for layering with other fragrances. Vanilla, in particular, pairs beautifully with spicy notes like cinnamon and floral accords such as jasmine and white musk - which you'll find as a base in bestselling perfumes like YSL Black Opium (£78, Boots) and Gucci's Flora Gorgeous Jasmine (£59.99, The Perfume Shop). 47 Skin's 'life-changing' skincare products for spot-prone teens are now 10% off Lisa Snowdon loves this hair serum that's 'must have for hair loss' now 20% off There are plenty more vanilla options to consider. One of my current favourites is Phlur's Vanilla Nectar (£25, Space NK), which opens with juicy papaya nectar and is grounded by smooth, creamy vanilla to soften the tropical notes and add warmth and maturity. Otherwise, Dior's Vanilla Diorama (£168) is expensive, but described as 'an exquisitely creamy vanilla mousseline, pricked with orange zests over a backdrop of bitter cocoa.' I also like Bon Parfumeur's 402, a sweet blend of vanilla, toffee, caramel, and sandalwood. Back to Calvin Klein's Nude Vanilla Body Mist, it has received plenty of great reviews via LookFantastic. One shopper said: "This is a vanilla lover's dream. I sprayed this on my hair and pulse points, and it lasted all day. The scent of vanilla and musk, which can be layered with other mists, is great. I even got compliments from strangers. "The spritzer is amazing, giving a mist, not too wide but just enough. The gorgeous packaging, lovely pink bottle complements the scent." Meanwhile, a second person remarked: "The scent is a lovely and subtle (not overpowering) balance of vanilla, and lasts a long time when I use it on my clothes and hair. Would defo recommend." It isn't all good news, though. A mixed review reads: "I'm not sure how to explain it otherwise, but as soon as I opened the lid, it smelt like I walked into a Victoria's Secret store, which isn't bad. It does have that smell of a cheaper fragrance (quite overpowering, a bit one-dimensional). "The bottle is large and a nice colour. I wouldn't reach for it daily, but maybe if I were in a rush and didn't want to waste a more expensive scent to go to the shops, I'd use it." But on a more positive note, this Calvin Klein fan said: "I enjoyed this product. It has a vanilla and musk scent. When it settles down, you can smell the musk. It lasts a while, but I like to pair it with a vanilla body cream to help make it last longer."

Lancome's anti-wrinkle eye cream praised for 'refreshing' feel now 20% off
Skincare has evolved beyond just applying a bit of moisturiser and calling it a day. Nowadays, people are more knowledgeable about the products they need to achieve their beauty objectives, whether that's clearing up blemishes, hydrating skin, protecting from harmful sun rays or reducing the appearance of fine lines and dark circles. If it's the latter that shoppers are looking to tackle, this deal on the Lancome Genifique Eye Cream could be quite enticing. At LookFantastic, the popular luxury eye cream is now £43.20, down from £54, offering shoppers a 20% saving. The rich under-eye formula is said to reduce visible signs of ageing, smoothing the appearance of fine lines for a plumper, firmer look. It's suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin, and is said to absorb without leaving a greasy residue. For money-saving tips, sign up to our Money newsletter here The eye cream can be used morning and evening after cleansing, with users advised to apply a pea-sized amount, gently tapping onto the eye area. They can then finish with their favourite day or night moisturiser If this eye cream doesn't appeal to shoppers, they could instead try the Resist Anti-Aging Eye Cream from Paula's Choice, priced at £37. Suitable for all skin types, this eye cream helps combat ageing, dry and sensitive skin, reports the Express. Alternatively, there's the Dr. Barbara Sturm Eye Cream for £40, which targets dark shadows, bags and puffiness around the eyes. This one is best applied in the morning after cleansing, but can also be used at night time if preferred. Customers have left some glowing reviews for the Lancome eye cream. One commented: "This little tube of luxury has been a lovely addition to my skincare routine. The texture is silky and lightweight-melts beautifully into the skin without feeling heavy or greasy. "It gives my under-eye area a smoother, more refreshed look, especially on those tired mornings and even before makeup I've noticed it helps with puffiness and gives a subtle brightening effect, making me look more awake even when I'm not fully feeling it." Another commented: "I've been using the Génifique Yeux Ultimate for a few weeks now and really enjoy how refreshing it feels around my eyes. Love this product." A third purchaser added: "I tried the Génifique Ultimate Eye Cream (3ml sample) and was really impressed. The texture is light and creamy, and it absorbed quickly without feeling greasy. The next morning, my under-eye area looked smooth and healthy. I'd definitely consider getting the full size." Nevertheless, some customers found it wasn't suitable for them. One commented: "Just like the other Genefique products, it is deeply moisturising and hydrating and absorbs easily into the skin as it's so light. I can't say that I have seen a reduction in fine lines or dark circles, but hydrating the skin does help it to look healthier. I will keep using to see an improvement in the dark circles and fine lines." Another user commented: "The eye area felt hydrated, however I didn't notice any reduction in fine lines for the week that I was using the sample before running out. I am sure with regular use that there will be a reduction in these lines." .
