Qatar Airways, Philippine Airlines expand Doha-Manila service
Qatar Airways and Philippine Airlines have partnered to expand service between Doha and Manila, providing greater connectivity for passengers from the Philippines traveling to Qatar and other regions.
Starting from 16 June 2025, Philippine Airlines will offer daily nonstop flights between Manila and Doha, codesharing on seven weekly flights operated by Qatar Airways.
The daily flights will depart Manila at 18:50 and arrive in Doha at 23:40, offering perfect connectivity to over 170 destinations in the Qatar Airways network.
Passengers will enjoy the luxury and comfort of transferring at Hamad International Airport (DOH), the World's Best Airport in the Middle East.
Eastbound travellers arriving in Doha on Qatar Airways flights can easily connect onto Philippine Airlines flights departing daily from Doha at 01:30 for a convenient afternoon arrival at Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
Qatar Airways Chief Commercial Officer, Thierry Antinori, said: 'At Qatar Airways, we continue to explore opportunities that strengthen our connectivity across the world, and our latest partnership with Philippine Airlines is a testament to this commitment. This strategic cooperation also aims to deepen the socio-economic ties between the Qatari and Filipino communities. Philippine Airlines President and Chief Operating Officer, Captain Stanley, said: 'As Philippine Airlines expands its presence across the globe, we are delighted to forge new alliances that enable us to build new connections and give our business and leisure passengers more flexibility and seamless access in flying to their desired destinations.'

The partner airlines will explore further opportunities for long-term collaboration, including collaborating to promote additional destinations in the respective networks of Qatar Airways and Philippine Airlines as well as frequent flyer cooperation.

In a move to further enhance the travel experience for its Filipino passengers, Emirates will be introducing a new coach service exclusively for economy class customers flying to and from Clark International Airport (CRK). The complimentary service, which started on Tuesday, will connect Trinoma in Quezon City with Clark International Airport in Pampanga, offering a convenient and seamless transit option. The coach service will be available to Emirates passengers holding a valid flight ticket and traveling between Clark and Trinoma, with pickup and drop-off points located at the New Genesis P2P Trinoma Bus Terminal (code: TRP) and at Clark International Airport (CRK) in Pampanga. The service will be offered exclusively to economy class passengers booked on an Emirates flight. To be eligible for the coach service, passengers must hold an Emirates-issued ticket with the ticket number beginning with 176. Travelers must also have a confirmed coach booking at least 48 hours in advance, as those without prior reservation or a valid Emirates ticket will not be allowed to board. When buying flight tickets on customers must specify Trinoma (TRP) as the departure or arrival city to ensure that their booking on the bus is included on their flight ticket. For flight tickets purchased through an Emirates office or travel agent, customers should request the agent to include the Trinoma (TRP) bus on the ticket before issuing the ticket. This initiative is part of Emirates' ongoing commitment to improving accessibility while elevating the travel experience for its Filipino customers, particularly those based in Metro Manila and nearby areas. Through this offering, Emirates aims to make flying from the airport more convenient and stress-free. Emirates launched services to Manila in 1990 and grew its operations to include a circular service to Cebu and Clark. The airline currently serves the Philippines with 28 weekly flights, offering approximately 22,700 weekly seats to and from Dubai and connecting travellers to over 140 destinations across the airline's global network. Earlier this year, Emirates signed a new agreement with the Department of Tourism Philippines to help develop inbound visitor traffic from its expansive global network. The airline also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Philippine Airlines (PAL), to explore the potential expansion of their partnership across both passenger and cargo operations. 61 Filipinos successfully complete separate skills training programs
A total of 61 Filipinos successfully completed their respective skills training programs during two separate seminars held on Friday, May 30, at the Philippine Embassy and the Majestic Hotel in Bahrain. The skills training in Baking and Haircutting, Manicure, and Pedicure were among the continuous initiatives in extending Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) with better knowledge and skills that would be applicable to career improvement, financial self-sufficiency, and integration upon returning Philippines in the future. Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Welfare Officer Juvilyn Anns Gumabay and Migrant Workers Office Officer in Charge (OIC) Celia V. Cabadonga commended the graduates on their endeavor to become better persons and encouraged other OFWs to grab similar chances in the future. Morning session In the morning session, 32 Filipinos graduated from a baking skills training, while in the afternoon, 29 others completed training in hairdcutting, manicure, and pedicure. Participants expressed appreciation for the opportunity to enhance their capabilities while working abroad, highlighting the importance of such programs in broadening employment options and building long-term security for themselves and their families. Attendee Ofelia Madriaga, 61, from Pamplona, Cagayan Valley, and a member of the Filipino community organization Pinay Ikaw Na (PIN), was among the proud attendees of the recent training.

Philippines Grants Visa-Free Entry To Indian Tourists From June 8
Indian nationals can now enter the Philippines without a visa for up to 30 days under new immigration rules coming into effect on June 8, 2025, according to an advisory issued by the Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General in Dubai. Under the revised visa policy quoted by the Filipino missions in the UAE, Indian passport holders can enter the Philippines without a visa for tourism purposes for up to 14 days, provided they meet the following requirements: a passport valid for at least six months beyond the intended stay, confirmed hotel accommodation or booking, proof of financial capacity and a return or onward ticket to another country. The 14-day stay is non-extendible and non-convertible, meaning tourists must exit the country before the end of the two-week period. However, Indian nationals holding valid and current visas or residence permits from the United States, Japan, Australia, Canada, Schengen states, Singapore or the United Kingdom (collectively known as AJACSSUK countries) are eligible for a visa-free stay of up to 30 days. This 30-day stay is also non-extendible, and travellers must present a valid passport and a return or onward ticket. Both categories require that the individual have no derogatory immigration record with the Philippine Bureau of Immigration (BI). The advisory clarifies that the visa-free entry privileges apply only to short-term tourism. 'Indian nationals transiting in the Philippines or entering the country for long-term visits and non-tourism activities are required to apply for an appropriate Philippine visa at a Philippine Embassy or Consulate in their country of origin, place of legal residence, or any country that requires entry visas for Indian nationals,' the advisory pointed out. The relaxed immigration policy is expected to benefit several Indian expats in the UAE.
