Former MTV reality star Whitney Purvis announced the tragic death of her son, Weston Owen Gosa Jr., who died at age 16. Purvis, who appeared on 16 and Pregnant in 2009, shared the devastating news Monday, June 2, on social media.
Whitney Purvis is heartbroken over the demise of her son, Weston. The 16 and Pregnant star wrote on her emotional Facebook post, 'This is so hard to write. My beautiful son, Weston has passed away. He was only 16 years old. Life is so cruel and unfair. I just dont understand. Oh my baby is gone and I don't know what to do with myself.'
Purvis further wrote that her 'worst nightmare' has come true. She shared, 'How do you go on in life after losing a child? I'm in disbelief, this cannot be happening. I don't want it to be real. I would do anything just to hold him. Words just can't describe the pain I am feeling.'
The mother of two concluded the post, writing, 'I love you so much, Weston Owen Gosa. God, I love you so much. You are my heart. I was so proud of the young man you were becoming. I just can't go on without you. Rest in Peace, my angel. You are gone too soon. April 2, 2009 – June 2, 2025.'
While Purvis did not reveal the cause of her son's death, Weston's stepmother, Amy Gosa, revealed in a separate Facebook post that they would be conducting an autopsy to ascertain the cause of death. Gosa also disclosed that the family found Weston at 7 am in the morning and 'tried to wake him up.'
She stated, 'He was not breathing; we attempted CPR and called an ambulance. The paramedics attempted it as well and took him to the hospital in Gordon County, where he was pronounced dead. He had several health issues as well as diabetes.'
Viewers of 16 and Pregnant are probably aware of the birth story of Weston Junior. The former MTV star's son was born on a prom night. Later, Purvis revealed that she went through a C-section. After Weston, Purvis welcomed her second son in 2014 with ex-boyfriend Weston Lewis Gosa (via US Weekly).

'90s Alt-Rocker Felled by Medical Emergency Still Needs Your Help Amid Recovery originally appeared on Parade. , the singer-guitarist known for such 1990s alternative rock hits as 'Girlfriend' and 'Sick of Myself,' suffered a debilitating stroke in October 2024 while on tour with Hanson in Canada. In wake of that stroke, Sweet's management team created a GoFundMe account for the musician to help pay for the tremendous costs for his medical care, rehab and to renovate his home so it is physically accessible to the musician, who is now wheelchair bound. 🎬 SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬 To make matters worse, Sweet's wife, who was trained to take over as his primary caretaker once he moved back into their Omaha, Neb. home, suffered a fall and severely broke her leg, requiring her to have immediate surgery and round-the-clock nursing care along with Matthew. Sweet's manager Russell Carter, took to Facebook on Friday, June 6 to share the news and ask for more support from his fans, although more than $600,000 has been raised to date. 'To begin, Matthew wants all of you to know that he would not be where he is today without your profoundly generous support. A day does not pass without him acknowledging how lucky he is to have caring family, friends, music business associates and fans,' he wrote. Carter added some details about Sweet's current physical condition. 'Matthew is wheelchair bound due to a lack of coordination in his legs (caused by stroke induced ataxia) and he does not have sufficient coordination in his hands to even try to play instruments. He cannot at this time use a walker. He also has coordination issues with his eyes which impairs his sight. While his speaking voice is only slightly impaired, he cannot sing. Doctors still cannot give Matthew a prognosis for the future which means he must soldier on daily with determination and engage in therapy hoping for the best but without knowing what the eventual outcome will be. This is a very hard predicament to endure,' he explained. Carter added that most of the money raised through the initial GoFundMe campaign has been spent and Sweet, 60, still has some remaining hospital bills that need to be paid, so he's asking for fans to donate again, if they can. 'If you can donate again to his fund, he can continue to work hard on his rehab at home and at out patient facilities and he can continue to pay his bills until one day he can hopefully return to being a self sustaining working musician,' he added. 'In the meantime , donations will go strictly to covering his basic recurring monthly expenses. Any continued support is very much appreciated.''90s Alt-Rocker Felled by Medical Emergency Still Needs Your Help Amid Recovery first appeared on Parade on Jun 6, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade on Jun 6, 2025, where it first appeared.

Diddy Tells Courtroom Artist To 'Soften' Him Up In Her Sketches, Claims He Looks Like A 'Koala Bear'

Sean "Diddy" Combs has expressed his dissatisfaction with a courtroom sketch of him during his sex trafficking trial on Thursday. For weeks, the jury has been listening to testimony from Diddy's alleged victims, associates, and witnesses, while the rapper observes from the defense section. During these proceedings, courtroom sketches of Sean "Diddy" Combs are drawn by artists, one of whom reportedly received a subtle nod of approval from Diddy's mother, Janice Combs. On Thursday's hearing of Diddy's sex crimes trial, the rapper made a request to the courtroom sketch artist, Jane Rosenberg, that showed he was displeased with how she had captured him. "Soften me up a bit, you're making me look like a koala bear," Combs said, per the New York Post. The incident reportedly happened while the jury was out for a break, and it is unclear whether Rosenberg issued a response to the music mogul when he made the weird request. Rosenberg is one of the artists who have been covering the rapper's trial since it began in May. Her services, and those of others like her, have been invaluable for documenting the proceedings, as the judge's ruling prohibited the televising of the trial and banned all attendees from taking photos, making recordings, or livestreaming. While Rosenberg got criticized by the embattled rapper, another courtroom sketch artist, Christine Cornell, previously claimed she received a "thumbs-up" from Diddy's mother, Janice Combs, when she drew her during one of the proceedings. "Puffy Combs' mom is sitting behind me, and she tapped me on the shoulder and gave me a thumbs-up," Cornell recalled the scene during her appearance on Dateline's True Crime Weekly podcast, per US Weekly. She added, "She likes the way I'm drawing her son. I said, 'Well, ma'am, do you mind if I draw you?' She, right away, started posing for me." Cornell also claimed that people have been drawn to her sketches, which range between three and six each day of the trial. "You want to have a really accurate drawing that really resembles them, and you want to capture a little bit of the dynamic of the courtroom," the artist further remarked. "For the most part, I get a lot of affirmation." Diddy is being tried on five felony charges, namely racketeering conspiracy, two counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, and two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was initially facing just single counts of racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution, but the extra two counts were added in a superseding indictment in April. Last month, Diddy's legal team pushed for a mistrial, arguing that federal prosecutors had crossed a line during their questioning of one of the witnesses. According to the defense, prosecutors unfairly hinted that Combs had a hand in covering up key evidence tied to the arson case involving Kid Cudi's vehicle. However, the motion received a quick shutdown from Judge Arun Subramanian, who said that "absolutely no testimony from the witness was prejudicial in any way, shape, or form." If Diddy is found guilty of all of the charges, he faces the possibility of living the rest of his life in prison. Since the trial began, several witnesses have taken the stand to testify against Diddy. One of the most prominent is his former partner, singer and actress Cassandra "Cassie" Ventura. During her testimony, Cassie spoke extensively about years of alleged abuse by the rapper, including graphic details about the now-infamous "freak-offs," which she claimed she was often forced to participate in without consent. Her mother, Regina Ventura, was also called to testify and supported many of her daughter's allegations. Rapper Kid Cudi, who previously dated Cassie in 2011, also took the stand. He recalled the disturbing incident when his car was firebombed, an event believed to be linked to his brief relationship with Cassie. Other witnesses have included singer Dawn Richard, Cassie's former best friend and roommate Kerry Morgan, and makeup artist Mylah Morales, all of whom spoke about instances of Diddy's allegedly assaulting Cassie. Diddy has reportedly adopted the position of a "quarterback" to his lineup of well-paid attorneys and has seemingly shaken off the early nerves he felt in the courtroom during the trial. According to the Daily Mail, he has been seen passing dozens of sticky notes to his lawyers, intensely questioning them during breaks, and suggesting they bring in different evidence, and has generally used his memories to bolster his lawyers' tactics. "He was there, he remembers exactly what happened: nobody knows more about Diddy's life than he does," a source told the news outlet. "He's very involved and he's on top of things because he knows his life is on the line."

Capcom Announces Street Fighter 6's New Characters By Paying Kenny Omega To Cosplay Them

I don't watch wrestling, but I feel a kinship to Kenny Omega as a fellow Kenny. Well, I did, until I realized his name is actually Tyson Smith. He just took on the name, I was born into it. Anyway, since he is not a true Ken, I have found a new reason to connect with the wrestler after seeing him cosplay as every character Street Fighter 6 is adding next season. Omega is known for his nerdy cosplays in wrestling, so it's good to see him getting the bag elsewhere. I won't be playing any of these new characters because I am a Ryu one-trick, but I have to respect the craft. Street Fighter 6's Year 3 roster update will add Sagat, Alex, Ingrid, and C. Viper to the game. Alex and Sagat were both recently playable in Street Fighter V, while C. Viper and Ingrid have been missing in action for at least a few entries. C. Viper last appeared as a playable character in Street Fighter IV. Ingrid, meanwhile, hasn't been playable since Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX. Once all four fighters roll out, Street Fighter 6's roster will reach 30 characters. Here's Capcom's tentative schedule: Sagat - Summer 2025 C. Viper - Autumn 2025 Alex - Early Spring 2026 Ingrid - Late Spring 2026 Street Fighter 6 launched in 2023 and has been getting a steady rollout of new fighters since launch. Each new character is implemented into the game's story mode, allowing your avatar character to learn their movesets and do fun social sim events with them to get to know them better. The game letting me fail to flirt with Ryu remains a moment more humbling than any defeat I've ever faced in the arena. For more on Street Fighter 6, check out Kotaku's review. .
