The sharp-tasting liquid has gained traction in recent weeks due to Amanda Seyfried's recent Vogue Beauty Secrets video. But is there any benefit in drinking your celery rather than eating it?
Celery, as famously taught by 1990s diet culture, was once said to be a 'negative calorie' food that expends more energy, and thus calories, to eat than the vegetable contains.
That has since been clarified as a myth, but that hasn't stopped celebrities, models, and health-conscious millennials from touting the liquified version as an elixir of liver health, cardiovascular health, clear skin, migraine relief, weight loss and inflammation reduction.
