The World Championship of Legends, now in its second season, features teams from India, Pakistan, England, West Indies, South Africa, and Australia. The tournament has drawn attention due to the participation of both Indian and Pakistani former players.
Following the Pahalgam attack, Pakistani cricket star
Shahid Afridi
had made controversial statements against India on social media and reportedly conducted victory parades while criticising Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In response to Afridi's actions, Shikhar Dhawan had posted a strong message on social media in April: "Kargil mein bhi haraya tha, already itna gire hue ho aur kitna giroge, bewajah comments pass karne se acha hai apne desh ki taraqqi mai dimag lagao @SAfridiOfficial. Humein hamari Indian Army par bohot garv hai. Bharat Mata Ki Jai! Jai Hind!"
The Indian team roster includes notable players like Ambati Rayudu, Yusuf Pathan, Robin Uthappa, and Harbhajan Singh, while the Pakistani side features Mohammad Hafeez and Shoaib Malik alongside Afridi.

Social media users have questioned the apparent contradiction between the players' public stance and their participation in the private league. One user expressed their criticism on Twitter: "Indian ex cricketers like Harbhajan, Yuvraj & Dhawan are happily playing WCL matches vs Pakistan in a private league! But when it's public, they scream nationalism. Why does the Govt stay silent? Is deshbhakti only for common people, not celebs? Hypocrisy much?"
Another social media user commented: "Shikhar Dhawan and Afridi did all that fake acting of patriotism in war just to play against each other again on Sunday. I am saying that again patriotism is only for normal public. India will also play with Pakistan in Asia cup too."

Viral: Employees Dance To Welcome Foreign Client; Sparks Controversy Over Workplace Decorum
A corporate dance video has ignited a fiery debate online after employees were seen welcoming a foreign client with a full-blown dance performance at their office. The now-viral clip shows staff grooving to Telugu and Bollywood tracks—including a solo on 'Main Tera Boyfriend'—before inviting the client to join in. While some viewers applauded the gesture as a refreshing display of Indian hospitality and team spirit, others slammed it as a breach of professional boundaries. The client, visibly amused, eventually joined the dance, adding fuel to the already polarized reactions. The video, originally posted on Reddit and X, was captioned critically: 'India should stop chaprification of corporate offices… Such showcasing will only make other countries feel Indian offices are casual and not worthy of serious work'. The term 'chaprification,' loosely referring to over-the-top informality, has since become a buzzword in the debate. India should stop chaprification of corporate offices This is so pathetic to see Indian girls dancing in office an d welcoming a foreign client and the becahra client also forced to dance. Such showcasing will only make other countries feel Indian offices are causal and not… — Woke Eminent (@WokePandemic) July 21, 2025 Supporters argue that such performances foster team bonding and leave a lasting impression on clients. 'Happens everywhere across the world… It helps a long way,' one user commented. Others pointed out that cultural expression should not be mistaken for lack of professionalism. Critics, however, voiced discomfort over what they called 'subservient culture' in Indian workplaces. 'This is embarrassing… The optics are much worse,' one user wrote, while another added, 'Submissiveness is a state of mind—to foreigners, politicians, or business magnates'. The incident has sparked broader conversations about workplace etiquette, post-colonial hangovers, and the fine line between warmth and decorum.
