Mumbai: A potentially dangerous incident was averted at Bangur Nagar Metro Station when a two-year-old child accidentally stepped out of a metro coach moments before the doors began to close.
Thanks to the alertness and swift action of station attendant Sanket Chodankar, the situation was brought under control within seconds. Noticing the child alone on the platform, Chodankar immediately alerted the train operator to halt departure and reopen the doors. He then rushed to ensure the child's safety and reunite the toddler with their guardian.
Officials from Maha Mumbai Metro praised the attendant's quick thinking and commitment to passenger safety. "Such presence of mind reinforces the high standards of safety and responsiveness maintained by our frontline staff," said a spokesperson.

Ten-feet-long python found in school kitchen, rescued

Mhow: A large python was found in the kitchen of a govt school in Baag town of Dhar district on Tuesday morning. It was later rescued. Teacher Akhilesh Bhardwaj of the middle section of the Baag Higher Secondary School told TOI that Lalita Bai and Sona Bai were preparing mid-day meals in the kitchen. At around 10 am, when Lalita went to a corner to fetch something, she saw the python and screamed loudly. She told Sona that there was a big snake, and both of them ran out of the kitchen. At that time, students of the middle school were studying, and when they heard Lalita's scream, they, as well as other staff members, rushed towards the kitchen. Somebody among them called voluntary snake rescuer Vinod Pawar, who resides in the nearby locality. Pawar reached there and rescued the python safely. He later released it in a deep forest. Pawar told TOI that the python was about ten-feet-long and weighed around 11kg. He said that he inspected the whole building and the kitchen, and advised the school staff to close the gap below the kitchen door. PMC to step up dog catching operations near airport

1 2 3 Pune: The dog catchers' team of PMC will be active around the airport area this entire week, and then twice a week. Sarika Funde, the head of the veterinary department of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) told TOI, "Our team earlier visited the airport area and carried out operations on Saturday every week. This week, our team will go around the area each day." The PMC's step comes after an Air India Express flight from Bhubaneswar to Pune with around 150 passengers on board aborted landing last week because of the presence of dogs on the runway. It made a go-around and then landed safely at the airport. Some points under the ABC regulations state that dogs need to be caught humanely for sterilisation, and should be released in their original territories after the surgery and recovery. Funde said, "We do follow the rule. If we don't, we are bound to get notices and face legal steps. If certain rules can be tweaked, like dogs present around establishments like airports, schools and hospitals can be relocated safely, the problem can be contained effectively. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Bevi l'acqua dal rubinetto?
