Operation Sindoor was focused, measured and non-escalatory
Vanam Jwala Narasimha RaoWhile Prime Minister Narendra Modi constantly monitored the ground situation on May 7, the Indian Armed Forces launched the Operation Sindoor post-midnight, by hitting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and in PoJK from where terrorist attacks against India were planned and directed. Shortly afterward, the Ministry of Defence, in a statement, disclosed the news and confirmed the strikes. Before the launch, the Indian Army posted a message that read 'Ready to Strike, Trained to Win.' Minutes later, ADGPI of the Indian Army tweeted: 'Justice is served-Jai Hind!'
Hours later, two distinguished female officers, Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, the first woman to command an Indian Army contingent and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, an exemplary officer, joined by Foreign Secretary, a Kashmiri Pandit and veteran diplomat Vikram Misri, addressed the media with poise and authority. They revealed that, 'Targets chosen by the Indian Armed Forces were based on strong intelligence inputs and their involvement in terror activities. No military infrastructure of Pakistan was struck during the operation. Probe into the Pahalgam terror attack has clearly established Pakistan links.'
Misri described the Operation as 'Focused, Measured, and Non-Escalatory.' Next day in an evidence-based discloser, Misri established the links of Pakistan with Terrorist Groups including those who claimed responsibility for the Pahalgam attack.
Modi had a meeting with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh and Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi on April 29. Saying that the Armed Forces have his full confidence and 'Complete Operational Freedom' to decide on the 'Mode, Targets, and Timing' to accomplish the 'National Resolve to deal a Crushing Blow to Terrorism' Modi gave them a 'free hand' to respond to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 persons. After the successful launch, the Prime Minister stressed the need for 'Continued Alertness, Institutional Synergy, and Clear Communication Mechanisms, as the nation navigated a sensitive period.' The all-party meeting unanimously lauded Operation Sindoor and reiterated support to the Government.
The history of Indo-Pak wars is a 'Saga of India's Resolute Triumphs;' success after success, victory after victory, proving time and again that nothing succeeds like success. In 1965, under Lal Bahadur Shastri, India responded with valor and strategic brilliance, repelling Pakistan's aggression, and imprinting 'Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan' into the national conscience.

As Operation Sindoor inflicted a crushing and irreversible defeat on 'Pakistan sponsored terrorists,' India stands at a point of no return. This is not just another operation towards an eventual victory; it is the finality of decades of provocation and hostility. The world watches and responds with growing unity against terrorism. Russia stands firmly beside India, as in the past, reinforcing India's strategic depth and moral high ground.
A new era of 'Security, sovereignty, and unwavering national resolve,' steered by Modi has commenced.
When the demand for 'separate nation for Muslims' gained momentum during the freedom struggle, the British authorities conceded to Pakistan. Since its formation, Pakistan indulged in attacks on India and, unable to win even a single war, shifted to ghastly terror incidents like the Pahalgam attack, killing innocent civilians.
Earlier Uri, Nagrota, and Pampore in 2016, Sunjuwan in 2018, Pulwama in 2019 saw CRPF men, soldiers, and civilians killed. India hit back at these Pakistan-sponsored attacks and terror incidents with notable military and diplomatic retaliations.
After the Uri attack, India launched 'surgical strikes' deep inside Pakistan, which was a bold move that demonstrated India's willingness to take preemptive action against terror operations, signaling a departure from its previous doctrine of restraint. Indian Air Force carried out airstrikes deep inside Pakistan, targeting a Jaish-e-Mohammed camp in Balakot, consequent to horrific suicide bombing in Pulwama, which became a turning point in Indo-Pakistani relations. India also retorted with targeted military actions along the LoC in response to multiple terror attacks, including those at Nagrota, Pampore, and Sunjuwan.

In the last eleven years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government has tirelessly worked for the emancipation and upliftment of the downtrodden and marginalised class with the 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas' motto, marking the hallmark of its governance. Antyodaya remained one of the guiding principles of the BJP-led NDA government as it consistently worked towards the welfare of the poor, farmers and deprived population with policies centered on the development of villages and rural regions. As PM Modi-led government celebrates eleven years of being in power and 1 year of Modi 3.0, below is the lowdown on key achievements and milestones: Rural India's standard of living improves About 171 million people were lifted out of extreme poverty over the past decade. According to the World Bank's Spring 2025 Poverty and Equity Brief, the share of the population living on less than $2.15 per day fell sharply -- from 16.2 per cent in 2011-12 to just 2.3 per cent in 2022-23. The rural India witnessed a significant rise in the standard of living. The average Monthly Per Capita Consumption Expenditure (MPCE) rose from Rs 1,430 in 2011–12 to Rs 4,122 in 2023–24 -- a nearly threefold increase. JJM ensured clean water, healthy life Under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), more than 15.59 crore rural households now have tap water connections. Over 12 crore of these were added in just the past five years. More than 9.35 lakh schools now have tap water connectivity. Housing for All For many families across rural and urban India, a permanent house was once an unattainable dream. The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) changed that narrative. PMAY has two components: Urban and Grameen. A total of nearly 4 crore houses have been completed under PMAY. Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) - Urban, more than 92.72 lakh homes have been delivered, with over 90 lakh houses owned by women while in rural India, 2.77 crore houses have been completed under PMAY - Grameen. Saubhagya lights up lives The launch of SAUBHAGYA and Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY) has brought transitional change in the lives of people. Today, 2.86 crore households have been electrified under the SAUBHAGYA scheme. Under DDUGJY, 100 per cent village electrification has been achieved. Ayushman Bharat making India healthier Ayushman Bharat was introduced to improve access to quality primary and secondary healthcare, and provide financial protection to poor and vulnerable families. It offers free health insurance coverage to 55 crore Indians, making it the world's largest health assurance scheme and with Ayushman Vay Vandana scheme, all citizens above 70 years have been brought under this scheme. Suraksha Bima and Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana The Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) has played a vital role in extending affordable social security to millions. As of May 2025, the scheme achieved enrolment of 51.06 crore individuals while the PM Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PM JJBY) had 23.64 crore subscribers till May this year. Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan So far, Swachh Bharat Mission has delivered over 12 crore household toilets across the country. Over 5.64 lakh villages have been declared Open Defecation Free (ODF). Clean Cooking fuel for women The Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) provided 10.33 crore LPG connections, giving millions of women freedom from smoke and drudgery. As per the official figures, more than 32 .94 crore people are active LPG consumers by March 2025. Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana The Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY), launched with aim of mitigating hardships faced by the poor and needy due to economic disruptions during Covid-19, has been providing free rations to 81 crore people since April 2020. PM Jan Dhan Yojana PM Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) was launched to provide universal access to banking facilities. Today, the country boasts a whopping 55.17 crore accounts, out of which 30.80 crore account holders are women. PM Vishwakarma Scheme Millions of artisans and craftsmen once faded into obscurity in a modernising economy but that became a thing of past under BJP government. Today, 2.37 million registered artisans and nearly 1 million beneficiaries are receiving toolkit incentives, traditional skills are being recognised, rewarded, and revived.

Narendra Modi first took oath as the Prime Minister of India on May 26, 2014, and is currently serving his third consecutive term. Last year, he took oath as Prime Minister on June 9 after winning elections for the third term. Recently, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President and Union Minister JP Nadda highlighted the government's various achievements, including good governance, change in India's 'political culture,' and several bold decisions taken over the past 11 years. Addressing a press conference, Nadda said that Prime Minister Modi has changed the country's political culture and established a new normal and a new order. Nadda said, 'We are completing 11 years under PM Modi's leadership. It is very difficult to confine 11 years in a press conference. The work done under PM Modi's leadership is written in the golden words because of the unimaginable and unique works. PM Modi has changed the country's politics, political culture. The country was appeased 11 years ago. Earlier, saving a political chair by dividing the society was the norm. When I say he changed the political culture of the country, it means politics of performance, responsive and responsible government, along with politics of report card, which means we are accountable. The work we are doing is in front of the public.' 'I can proudly say that in the last 11 years, the government led by PM Modi has changed the culture of Indian politics and established a new normal, a new order. This government is effective, this government takes strong decisions, it is a government that brings economic discipline,' he added. Lauding the efforts of the Modi government, the BJP National President noted that the past 11 years have laid a strong foundation for a truly developed and self-reliant India. He asserted, 'Modi Govt is a people-led government which has people's participation. Over the past years, we have brought transparency and built a forward-looking, futuristic administration. 'Slamming the UPA government before 2014, Nadda stated that previous governments were full of corruption and a prevailing sense of negativity, but PM Modi changed the negativism to optimism, and people proudly say, 'Modi hai to mumkin hai.' The turnout in the Lok Sabha was 58.46 per cent, while the turnout in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections was 63 per cent. This change has come due to the bold decision of the Modi government. Similarly, the abolition of Triple Talaq was a tragedy for women and humanity. Even Muslim countries didn't have the system of Triple Talaq.
