2025 NFL schedule: Game-by-game predictions for the Jets
We're in the heart of the 2025 NFL offseason and things are moving along slowly.
The start of the upcoming season is a long ways away, but the league has released the entire schedule so we know the journey the New York Jets will take next season.
Let's have a prediction now.
Here is Jets Wire's early game-by-game predictions for the 2025 season:
Week 1: vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
Whether Aaron Rodgers is the quarterback for the Steelers or not... new head coach Aaron Glenn at home in his debut?
Prediction: Win (1-0).
Week 2: vs. Buffalo Bills
The Bills are still a lot to handle in the AFC East.
Prediction: Loss (1-1).
Week 3: at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Bucs have a good offense and the Jets would likely handle them better later on in the season.
Prediction: Loss (1-2).
Week 4: at Miami Dolphins (MNF)
The Dolphins have had a lot going on already this offseason and already being in Florida could bode well for the Jets.
Prediction: Win (2-2).
Week 5: vs. Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys should be better with a healthy Dak Prescott at quarterback.
Prediction: Loss (2-3).
Week 6: vs. Denver Broncos (London)
The Jets have a bit of an advantage in terms of international games so an upset could be in order.
Prediction: Win (3-3).
Week 7: vs. Carolina Panthers
Two similar teams looking to improve with young rosters...
Prediction: Win (4-3).
Week 8: at Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals are going to be overly motivated the entire season after a tough 2024.
Prediction: Loss (4-4).
Week 9: Bye
Week 10: vs. Cleveland Browns
There are still a lot of question marks with the Browns... even more than a new-look Jets team.
Prediction: Win (5-4).
Week 11: at New England Patriots (TNF)
It's a big game between two AFC East teams looking to improve in 2025... but home on a Thursday is an edge.
Prediction: Loss (5-5).
Week 12: at Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens remain a top-tier team where the Jets want to be.
Prediction: Loss (5-6).
Week 13: vs. Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons out of their dome and into MetLife could be a nice edge.
Prediction: Win (6-6).
Week 14: vs. Miami Dolphins
While this will be a winnable one, it's a potential upset of sorts.
Prediction: Loss (6-7).
Week 15: at Jacksonville Jaguars
It's hard to gauge where the Jaguars will be but this could go either way.
Prediction: Loss (6-8).
Week 16: at New Orleans Saints
The Saints have so much going on, simply put.
Prediction: Win (7-8).
Week 17: vs. New England Patriots
In a season finale at home, could the Jets sneak close to the postseason?
Prediction: Win (8-8).
Week 18: at Buffalo Bills
This is very depending on where the Bills stand in the playoff picture, but it's also their final game at home before their new stadium opens... a lot to ask.
Prediction: Loss (8-9).

Eagles dominate the top 5 of PFF's ranking of the NFL's top 32 offensive tackles

Eagles dominate the top 5 of PFF's ranking of the NFL's top 32 offensive tackles PFF ranked the top 32 offensive tackles in the NFL, with Jordan Mailata surpassing Trent Williams for the No. 1 spot, while Lane Johnson secured No. 5. The Top 10 Offensive Tackles in the NFL today 💪 — PFF (@PFF) May 31, 2025 The Eagles have the top offensive line in the NFL, and one of the most significant contributors to sustained success starts with the bookends at offensive tackle. Jordan Mailata and Lane Johnson have cemented themselves as the top duo in the NFL, and the former Australian Rugby star has overtaken the future Hall of Famer in Pro Football Focus rankings. PFF ranked the top 32 offensive tackles in the NFL, with Jordan Mailata surpassing Trent Williams for the No. 1 spot, while Lane Johnson secured No. 5. Tristan Wirfs (Buccaneers), Rashawn Slater (Chargers), and Williams (49ers) were second, third, and fourth on the list, sandwiched in between the Eagles duo. What PFF said about Mailata: "Mailata was the most complete offensive lineman in the NFL in 2024." "Only two offensive tackles earned PFF pass-blocking grades above 90.0, and only two earned PFF run-blocking grades above 90.0. Philadelphia's left tackle was the only one to achieve both feats. His 95.2 PFF overall grade also led the position." What PFF said about Lane Johnson: "Johnson, the highest-ranked right tackle on this list, was one of just two offensive tackles to earn PFF pass-blocking and run-blocking grades over 85.0 in 2024 — with the other being his teammate Jordan Mailata." "Johnson did not surrender a sack and gave up pressure on only 2.2% of pass plays during the 2024 regular season, which ranked second among all offensive tackles and led right tackles."

Travis Kelce retiring? Patrick Mahomes, Greg Olsen talk TE's future

Travis Kelce retiring? Patrick Mahomes, Greg Olsen talk TE's future Show Caption Hide Caption Greg Olsen believes Travis Kelce 'controls how he leaves the game' Former NFL tight end Greg Olsen has high praise for Travis Kelce and shares when he believes Travis Kelce will eventually retire from the NFL. Sports Seriously Travis Kelce has checked off all the boxes on the football field – except retirement. Everyone has an opinion on the 35-year-old, who is coming off, statistically, the worst season of his career since becoming the starter for the Kansas City Chiefs. As he authors the final pages for the story of his football career, Kelce's retirement continues to be a topic. In an interview with USA TODAY's Mackenzie Salmon, former NFL tight end and current Fox Sports broadcaster Greg Olsen spoke about Kelce's future. "He's got the world at his fingertips," Olsen said. "I think he's one of the unique guys that's gonna be able to control how he leaves the game and when. And that's not the reality for most guys." Kelce, who will turn 36 in October, is coming off a bad season by his standards. He totaled 97 receptions, 823 yards and only three touchdowns. While that may be a career-year for some, it continued a downward trend that began following the 2023 season. Despite that reality, Olsen highlighted how he was also 36 in his last season, noting that he wasn't as productive as Kelce has been at this stage. "He was highly productive last year," Olsen said. "I think we've kind of gotten spoiled that we think every year he's gonna have twelve-hundred yards and 10 touchdowns. And I don't think people realize just how hard that is. I wouldn't put a limit on anything he does." He added that he could call it quits after this upcoming season or play a few more years. Olsen maintained that Kelce has done enough throughout his career to be afforded the opportunity to leave when he wants to. Retirement talk has been a common theme throughout the Chiefs' run of success, especially in the lead-up to Super Bowl 59 before they lost to the Philadelphia Eagles. Now with training camp around the corner, even quarterback Patrick Mahomes is being asked about Kelce's future. "If it's the last ride, you would never know," Mahomes said in a press conference Thursday. "The way he's talking about football, the way he's talking about working and trying to be even better this year than he was last year. He doesn't seem like a guy that, it's his last ride or he's tired of the job. He's in here, he's working. I know his body feels good. I think it feels better than even last year before going into last season. I think he's motivated to go out there and have an even better year." Kelce appeared to truly debate walking away from the game this offseason but elected to return for another season. He spoke about that decision during the March 5 episode of his "New Heights" podcast with his brother, Jason. "I think the biggest thing is that I (expletive) love playing the game of football," Kelce said. "I love playing. I still feel like I can play it at a high level and possibly at a higher level than I did last year. I don't think it was my best outing. I think I let my guys down in a lot more moments than I helped them, especially if you look at my track record and how I've been in years past. I want to give it a good run. I got a bad taste in my mouth in how I ended the year and how well I was playing and how accountable I was to the people around me." Of course, the Chiefs have played a lot of football over the years and the miles can begin to add up. It's not out of the question that Kelce's drop in production could be attributed in part to fatigue, especially given the attention he receives from defenses every week. All eyes will be on Kelce as he enters his 13th season NFL season and 12th as the starter, which will be the final year of his current contract. It carries a $19.8 million cap hit for 2025, according to Spotrac. Having already accomplished so much, these final years can be about chasing more rings and putting a bow on a great career. He's a three-time Super Bowl champion, a four-time All-Pro and has been selected to the Pro Bowl 10 times. He's a lock for the Hall of Fame and statistically ranks amongst the best tight ends in NFL history – No. 3 in receptions (1,004) and yards (12,151), despite playing just 11 seasons as the Chiefs primary starter at the position. Tony Gonzalez and Jason Witten, the two who rank above Kelce in those categories, each finished their careers with 16 seasons as a starter. Off the field, Kelce is one-half of arguably the biggest celebrity couples going right now given his relationship with Taylor Swift. He has a successful podcast with his brother, helping him maintain his media presence. Retirement will continue to be a storyline on the field. Off of it, however, Kelce appears to just be getting started.
