In a big development in the snake venom case involving Elvish Yadav, the Supreme Court has now granted a stay on trial court proceedings against the YouTuber. A Bench of Justices M.M. Sundresh and Joymalya Bagchi issued notice to the Uttar Pradesh government and the complainant Gaurav Gupta on Wednesday. The apex court was hearing Elvish's plea challenging the chargesheet and the criminal proceedings against him in the case. What Is The Snake Venom Case Involving Elvish Yadav? Elvish Yadav has been making headlines in connection to the Noida Snake Venom case for a long time now. The YouTuber was arrested by Noida Police in March 2024. The case was lodged under provisions of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 and for criminal conspiracy under section 120B of the Indian Penal Code, they said. A day after his arrest, NDTV claimed Elvish had admitted to his crimes. However, no official statement was released. A week later, Yadav was granted bail, on a 50,000 bail bond. Talking about the same, his lawyer Prashant Rathi had said, 'Our arguments in this case was that he was falsely accused and no substance was obtained from him or his friends that violated the NDPS act. The court has granted bail to him (Elvish Yadav) as well as his two friends on two sureties of Rs 50,000 each." When Elvish Yadav Opened Up About Staying In Jail In one of his previous YouTube vlogs, Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner answered several fan questions when he also recalled the time he spent in prison. 'Bhagwan na kare koi jail jaaye, bas itna hi kehna chahenge (God forbid anyone goes to jail, that's all I would like to say)," he said. Prior to this too, in one of his vlogs, Yadav called the time in prison as a 'very bad phase of his life" and expressed his gratitude towards those who supported him. 'The one week that went by, no doubt, was a very bad phase of life. What to talk about the time I was inside (jail). Let's start a new chapter on a positive note. All those who supported me didn't support me, talked badly or well about me, thanks to all. I can only thank everyone.
