CM Chandrababu Naidu approves recruitment drive to fill 137 posts in endowments department
VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has given his nod for a massive recruitment drive to fill 137 vacant posts in the Endowments Department, including six Deputy Commissioners, five Assistant Commissioners, six Grade-1 Executive Officers, 104 Grade-3 Executive Officers, and 16 Junior Assistants.
Additionally, around 200 vacant priest posts will be filled with qualified candidates to ensure efficient temple management across Andhra Pradesh.
In a review meeting at the Secretariat on Tuesday, Naidu directed officials to extend the Annadanam (free food) scheme to all 23 major temples in the State. Currently, only seven temples, including Srisailam, Srikalahasti, and Kanipakam, offer daily free meals.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the food must be tasty, hygienic, and of high quality, matching the standards of Tirumala's Vengamamba Annaprasadam.
Naidu also outlined a phased development plan for temples, starting with a master plan for 23 major temples based on Agama Shastra. He stressed promoting temple tourism and protecting temple lands from encroachments.
A committee will formulate a policy for leasing temple lands to commercial entities, ensuring only vegetarian food is served on such properties to respect devotees' sentiments.

1 2 Vijayawada: Chief minister Chandrababu Naidu has set a target of completing 1,040 km of national highways (NH) in the current financial year with an outlay of 20,067 crore. In a review meeting with the officials of R&B, NHAI, and the contractors executing the road works on Monday, Naidu stated that all issues related to land acquisition, forest, and wildlife clearance should be resolved by the end of July. Naidu expressed dissatisfaction with the contractors for the delay in the execution of projects. He emphasised that no road construction should be delayed. Meanwhile, officials informed the chief minister that 770 km of roads were completed during the last fiscal year under NHAI and MoRTH with an investment outlay of 11,325 crore. The state has a total of 8,744 km of roads, including 4,406 km of NHAI roads, 641 km under PIU-MoRTH, and 3,697 km under NH(R&B). Currently, 3,483 km of roads are under construction across 144 projects under NHAI and MoRTH with an investment of Rs 76,856 crore. Some projects are set to begin soon, including 1,392 km under NHAI and 2,091 km under MoRTH. As part of the 'Mission Pothole-Free Roads' initiative launched by the chief minister in November last year with 860.81 crore, officials explained that 97% of the work was completed as of June 6. They stated that potholes have been filled, and repairs completed on 19,475 km of roads. Officials said the remaining road repairs are expected to be completed by July 31.

Naidu inaugurates Vision Action Plan Units in 26 districts, 175 constituencies in A.P.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced that the establishment of Vision Action Plan Unit offices at all district and constituency levels marks a formal launch of the 'Swarna Andhra 2047' vision. Until now, MLAs had no dedicated government office at the constituency level, and that gap has now been filled through these units. Each unit will be staffed with a team of nine members, and ₹10 lakh has been allocated per office for its operations, he said. Addressing MPs, MLAs, Collectors, and officials during a virtual inauguration from the State Secretariat, the Chief Minister called on them to drive the implementation of this vision forward. This initiative is a valuable opportunity for MLAs. The public representatives can make citizens active participants in the transformation journey, he said. Mr. Naidu said that 'Talli Ki Vandanam' programme will be launched this month and free bus travel scheme for women from August 15. 'Our goal is to ensure 15 lakh Golden Families are adopted by mentors by August 15. A referral system will be introduced, and officials who facilitate more mentor-families will be rewarded,' he said. Focus on services sector MSME parks will be set up in each constituency and Ratan Tata Hubs in Amaravati. The government is focusing heavily on the services sector. As incomes grow, more welfare schemes can be implemented. Technology is being integrated into governance, which should be rooted in a humanitarian outlook, the Chief Minister said. Mr. Naidu interacted via video conference with public representatives and officials across the 26 districts and 175 constituencies. He assured that each Vision Action Plan Unit will function in full capacity with proper funding and staffing. Each Constituency Vision Action Plan Unit will be chaired by the local MLA. A Special Officer will serve as the Executive Vice-Chairperson. Other members will include the local MLC, Municipal/Urban Panchayat Chairperson, RDO/Sub-Collector, Tahsildar, MPDO, and Municipal Commissioner. The MPDO will act as the Convener. CM praises Union Minister Union Minister Rammohan Naidu, who participated in the Vision Action Plan launch, announced that he would adopt 10 Golden Families under the P4 – Zero Poverty initiative. Mr. Naidu appreciated his commitment and urged other public representatives to follow suit and become mentors. Ministers, MLAs, Collectors, and senior officials also took part in the event.

Tamil Nadu rural workers opting agricultural jobs declines by 20%: Planning Commission report
A study by Tamil Nadu's State Planning Commission has revealed a structural shift in rural livelihoods marked by a 20% decline in dependence on agriculture for employment opportunities since 2012, with younger workers (aged 15–34) leading this transition, preferring non-farm jobs due to better wages and more stability. A total of four reports by the State Planning Commission were submitted to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin at the Secretariat in Chennai on Monday (June 9, 2025). Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, who is also the State Planning Commission's ex-officio Vice-Chairman, Executive Vice-Chairman J. Jeyaranjan, State Planning Commission submitted the reports to Mr. Stalin. The report of the study on rural non-farm employment in the State indicated that over 75% of male workers and 50% of female workers are now employed in non-agricultural activities. 'Construction has emerged as the dominant sector for male workers, particularly among the youth, while manufacturing remains the primary employer for women across all age groups,' an official release said quoting the report. The study was undertaken in 12 villages of six districts with higher as well as lower rural non-farm economy (RNFE). It highlighted a significant shift away from agriculture, with an increasing number of workers engaging in non-farm sectors, such as construction and manufacturing. Three other reports — 'Tamil Nadu's vision for sustainable development goals', 'Tamil Nadu's automotive future' and 'Reimagining Tamil Nadu – Path to knowledge economy' were also submitted to the Chief Minister. 'Tamil Nadu's vision for sustainable development goals' highlighted the current status of the State and interventions by the State government through various welfare schemes. The report on 'Tamil Nadu's automotive future' recommended the establishment of electric vehicle clusters, enhancing logistics infrastructure with roll-on roll-off terminals and multimodal hubs, and expanding research and development through centres of excellence and skill parks. The report on 'Reimagining Tamil Nadu – Path to a knowledge economy' focused on two key pillars: Global Capability Centers (GCCs) and the future of manufacturing. 'It examines the current landscape and provides inputs on accelerating growth and redefining the manufacturing sector through innovation, technology, and sustainability. It also highlights the importance of strengthening the MSME ecosystem as a key driver of economic resilience, while underscoring the need for inclusive growth with attention to social equity as a guiding principle for economic transformation,' the release said.
