Daily Mirror07-05-2025
Kaley Cuoco is set to star in an edge-of-your-seat, suspenseful thriller for Prime Video, the streaming service has announced.
Fans of The Big Bang Theory are buzzing with excitement as it's been revealed that Kaley Cuoco, famed for her role as Penny, is diving into a thrilling new venture titled Vanished. The upcoming series boasts an impressive cast including Peaky Blinders' heartthrob Sam Claflin.
Set to premiere on Prime Video next year, Vanished will be available in the UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Joining the stellar lineup are Matthias Schweighöfer from Germany, Simon Abkarian of Casino Royale fame, and Dar Zuzovsky, known for Corduroy.

In Vanished, Kaley Cuoco steps into the shoes of Alice, whose Parisian romantic escape spirals into chaos when her boyfriend Tom, played by Claflin, vanishes without a trace. As Alice delves deeper, she unravels startling truths about the man she thought she knew inside out.

The series is the brainchild of creators David Hilton and Preston Thompson. Tushar Jindal, Head of Content Acquisitions for Prime Video UK, expressed his enthusiasm for the project: "With Kaley and Sam leading an incredible cast, this gripping thriller will keep viewers guessing at every turn.
"We can't wait for audiences to be swept up in the mystery."
Since The Big Bang Theory wrapped up in 2019, Cuoco, now 39, has remained in the spotlight with roles in shows like 8 Simple Rules, The Flight Attendant, and Charmed.
Off-screen, she's enjoying life with actor beau Tom Pelphrey, and they welcomed their daughter Matilda in 2023. Beyond acting, Cuoco has ventured into entrepreneurship with her pet product line, Oh Norman!
Peaky Blinders star Claflin, known for his roles in The Hunger Games, Me Before You and Daisy Jones and the Six, is also making headlines.

Prime Video has announced that production on Vanished has kicked off in Marseille, France, and it's set to be a four-part series.
Big Bang Theory's Cuoco, who played Penny, admitted she was "in a state of shock" when she found out the show was ending.
Recalling the moment Jim Parsons revealed he didn't think he could continue with the series, Cuoco told Variety: "I was so shocked that I was literally like, 'Continue on with what?'"
"Like, I didn't even know what he was talking about. I looked at Chuck: 'Wow. I thought we were - I'm so blown away right now,'" she added.

Prime Video adds all episodes of 'incredible' crime drama fans demand a reboot of

Some fans think now is a good time to bring the show back Lie To me teaser trailer Prime Video has added all episodes of an 'incredible' crime drama fans think should get a reboot. ‌ The entire series of Lie To Me is now available to stream on the retail giant's platform. This is after the third and final season was recently included as part of its library. ‌ Those without an Amazon Prime subscription can also binge the series on Disney Plus. The series was initially broadcast between 2009 and 2011, with some believing it wasn't able to reach its full potential. ‌ The show's premise is actually based on real world psychological research. Notably those conducted by American psychologist Paul Ekman. It follows Dr. Cal Lightman, played by Tim Roth, along with his colleagues as they accept assignments from local and federal law enforcement agencies, and assist in investigations to reach out to the truth. Lightman, is a deception expert who analyses facial expressions and body language to uncover lies and help law enforcement solve crimes. ‌ Critics weren't too impressed with the show when it first aired but many fans look back on it fondly. So much in fact that one shared on Reddit how they believed it was the right time to reboot the series. They posted: " I'm watching Lie to Me at the moment and it annoys me that a show with such a promising premise has so many mediocre moments. With all the attention lately to how Criminals act and talk (What pretending to be crazy looks like) it might be a good time for a reboot." ‌ Someone else agreed, however they argued: "I would only watch a reboot if Tim Roth was still the main character. He was too good at infuriating and obnoxious. He's awesome on Tin Star." Many viewers who enjoy and recommend the show, single out Roth's performance. They also highlight the use of actual scientific research as the strongest part of the show. ‌ One person, sharing their thoughts online, commented: "Very interesting, it has that Doctor House vibe with an intelligent but distrusting guy. It keeps you engaged to the screen, not knowing what to expect." Another said: "This show is incredible. Tim Roth's performance is top notch. I love the premise of this show. A human lie detector. Tim really brings this show to life. I can't believe the show ended with only three seasons. His character and the way he is portrayed is engaging and highly addictive. I can't recommend this show high enough. Once you watch a few episodes, you can't put it down." While someone else posted: "Excellent show! I wish there were 10 (or 17, like Grey's Anatomy) seasons of it!! I don't ordinarily care for Tim Roth, but he is quite convincing as Cal Lightman. Everyone in the cast is outstanding and believable."

When is Belly's birthday in The Summer I Turned Pretty?

Fans of The Summer I Turned Pretty are curious about Belly's birthday The Summer I Turned Pretty (TSITP) recently saw Belly Conklin (played by Lola Tung) marking her 21st birthday, following on from her quick engagement that left fans fuming and signalled numerous red flags about her husband-to-be. ‌ Episode four of season three of the Prime Video show saw Belly celebrating her birthday in Philadelphia, with her parents trying to make sure she had a wonderful breakfast and presenting her with a bottle of wine from the year she was born. ‌ But their celebrations ended on a sour note when Laurel Park (Jackie Chung) refused to go wedding dress shopping with Belly and reiterated her opposition to her daughter's engagement to Jeremiah Fisher (Gavin Casalegno). ‌ The episode also saw Belly moving out of her mother's house in Philadelphia and living in the summer house in Cousins after Jeremiah gave her a key as a birthday present. Belly's 21st birthday appeared to be a memorable one for all the wrong reasons as she struggled to choose her wedding dress without her mother and wondered how she would make it down the aisle without Laurel's support. Many fans are now curious to know when Belly's birthday is supposed to be, here's the lowdown. ‌ When is Belly's birthday in The Summer I Turned Pretty? In The Summer I Turned Pretty novels by Jenny Han, Belly's birthday is in August. However, the author and TSITP co-showrunner Han changed her birthday for the TV adaptation. ‌ In the show, Belly's birthday takes place at the end of June as she celebrates her sweet 16th in season one. Jeremiah is a year older than Belly, while his older brother Conrad Fisher (Christopher Briney) is a year-and-a-half older than her. The age gap between the two brothers is quite small with Jeremiah only a year behind Conrad, however, in terms of temperament and maturity they are polar opposites. ‌ According to Reddit, Conrad is a Scorpio with his birthday in either October or November. By the time we get to season three of TSITP, Jeremiah is now 22 and will be repeating a semester after failing to read an email correctly regarding his classes. Meanwhile, Conrad is approximately 23 in the most recent season of the YA drama. ‌ In reality, the stars of TSITP are very different ages to their alter-egos, with Conrad actor Briney several years older than his brooding character and is currently 27. ‌ Jeremiah actor Casalegno is 25, making him a couple of years older than his character. Out of the three stars, Tung is actually closest to her character's age at 22. Previously speaking about Belly and Jeremiah's tumultuous romance, particularly in the aftermath of his cheating and accepting his hasty engagement proposal, Tung told Elle: 'Young love is intense.' She went on to tell the outlet how she felt Belly was initially in 'pure shock' from the revelation after learning the person she considered to be her number one could have done such a thing. Tung added: 'This is someone who's been her rock for so many years and who she's known her entire life. It can be heartbreaking when you feel like you don't know everything [about someone].'

We Were Liars star Caitlin Fitzgerald reacts to TikTok videos of fans sobbing at emotional finale

We Were Liars left Prime Video subscribers distraught in the last few moments of its agonising finale. WARNING: This article contains spoilers from We Were Liars. ‌ We Were Liars star Caitlin Fitzgerald has addressed fans' emotional TikTok videos as they film themselves reacting to the drama's final episode. ‌ Based on author E. Lockhart's novel of the same name, We Were Liars revolves around the extraordinarily rich Sinclair family who spend their summers at their private island off the coast of Massachusetts. ‌ One summer, Cadence Sinclair (played by Emily Alyn Lind) was involved in an incident that she can remember nothing about and no one will tell her what happened. But it was the last episode of the Prime Video drama where her world really came crashing down when she discovers that she and her cousins Johnny (Joseph Zada) and Mirren Sinclair (Esther McGregor) and family friend Gat Patil (Shubham Maheshwari) set the mansion on fire. In a devastating turn of events though, Cadence was the only one who was able to get out in time with Johnny, Mirren and Gat all dying in the blaze. ‌ Throughout the series, Cadence had simply been imagining her friends were by her side, and was beside herself when she realised the truth. Understandably, subscribers who hadn't read the book were shocked, with an ongoing TikTok trend of fans filming themselves sobbing at the finale. ‌ When Screen Time spoke to Penny Sinclair star Caitlin Fitzgerald about the reaction on social media, she admitted she wasn't surprised. 'I always feel like I have to slightly apologise for what we put you through with that show. It's a rough ride', Fitzgerald laughs. 'A few years after the book came out during Covid, there was a similar kind of reading the last chapter and filming yourself weeping. ‌ 'So I was somewhat prepared for it but we knew because we couldn't get through the script.' Fitzgerald continues: 'We did a read through of the final episode and all of us were beside ourselves. ‌ 'Even David Morrissey who is quite a stoic guy, was just like 'give me a second', had to kind of compose himself. 'And we knew what was coming so I can only imagine what it was like the first go around if you didn't know.' An official renewal hasn't been given to We Were Liars just yet but there are talks of a prequel in the works, based on Lockhart's novel Family of Liars. So fans are just going to have to wait for now to find out if there will be more on the way from the Sinclair family. We Were Liars is available to watch on Prime Video.
