Chiefs Win Projection Revealed as 8-Straight Achievement

Yahoo18-05-2025

The Kansas City Chiefs are one team that has divided opinion this offseason regarding what exactly they will become in 2025.
After another good season last year that ended badly, the Chiefs have had a so-so offseason and addressed some needs, particularly the offensive line, but some are still unsure if the issue has been "fixed" to the point where a deep playoff run is forthcoming.

The NFL schedule was released last week, and naturally, everyone has an opinion on how many wins each team will get, who will make the playoffs, and so on.
For the Chiefs, there are some who think they'll struggle in 2025, but according to the latest win projections put forth by Caesars Sportsbook & Casino, Kansas City is expected to have the third-best total in the AFC with 11.2 wins.
If that total is achieved, it would be the eighth consecutive season that the Chiefs have won at least 10 regular-season games.
And we think that an 11-6 record is enough for playoff football, and a home playoff game for Kansas City.

In the first month of the season, we will get an early indication of the Chiefs' ability to climb back to the top of the NFL mountain.

Kansas City faces the Los Angeles Chargers, Philadelphia Eagles, and the Baltimore Ravens, and all three will present quite the challenge to Patrick Mahomes and Co.
Navigate that, and come out at at least .500, then the Chiefs are in business, and the narrative surrounding them that the dynasty is over, will begin to dissipate.
But if it goes the other way and the Chiefs are shown a clean pair of heels, then 2025 might be tough sledding for the defending AFC champs.

Rams Head Coach Addresses Matthew Stafford and Davante Adams' Pairing

Rams Head Coach Addresses Matthew Stafford and Davante Adams' Pairing originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay had strong words when asked about the pairing of former New York Jets wideout Davante Adam and his Super Bowl-winning quarterback, Matthew Stafford. Advertisement The 37-year-old quarterback appeared in 16 games for the Rams during the 2024 season, throwing for 3,762 yards, 20 touchdowns and eight interceptions while leading Los Angeles into the postseason. The former Georgia Bulldog is entering his fifth season under head coach Sean McVay and 16th of his NFL career since being selected No. 1 overall in the 2009 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions. NFL veteran Davante Adams, 32, signed with the Rams in the offseason after he was released by the Jets. Adams finished last season with 85 receptions for 1,063 yards and eight touchdowns despite playing with multiple starting quarterbacks. He has recorded 1,000-plus receiving yards six times throughout his NFL career and has totaled 103 touchdowns. McVay's respect for Adams was evident from the start, as he highlighted the All-Pro receiver's film in a team meeting shortly after his arrival. Advertisement 'What I think is really cool to be able to witness is the respect that you can feel they have for one another,' McVay told reporters. "... Matthew's got such a great way of being able to connect and communicate. And it's the same thing with Davante. "Those guys have such a high level of understanding of what they want. ... It's been cool to watch." With both players entering the latter stages of their careers, McVay's focus remains on maximizing what they can do together — and looking to build on last year's playoff success. Austin Wells' 5 RBIs, Aaron Judge's 469-foot homer power Yankees to rout of Royals

Austin Wells hit a three-run homer and finished with five RBIs, Aaron Judge hit the third-longest homer in the majors this season, and the New York Yankees routed the Kansas City Royals 10-2 on Tuesday night. Max Fried (9-1) bounced back from his first loss of the season, pitching seven innings of two-run ball for New York. Wells homered on a full-count pitch from Noah Cameron (2-2) with two outs in the fourth inning, then added a two-run double in the sixth after a 10-pitch duel with Taylor Clarke. He matched his career high for RBIs in a game. Judge's two-run homer in the first had an exit velocity of 117.9 mph and traveled 469 feet, landing on the roof of the Royals Hall of Fame in left field. Only the Angels' Mike Trout and Logan O'Hoppe have hit longer home runs this season. Judge added a bloop RBI single in the sixth inning, when the Yankees put the game away with five more runs off the Kansas City bullpen. Cody Bellinger drove in one of them with the 1,000th hit of his career. Cameron wound up allowing six runs and seven hits over 5 2/3 innings. It was the first time in the left-hander's first six big league starts that he allowed more than one run or failed to make it through six innings. Jac Caglianone singled and had an RBI groundout in his home debut for Kansas City. Jonathan India homered in the sixth, and Tyler Tolbert singled in the eighth for his first big league hit. KEY MOMENT Judge's homer sent a shock through a star-studded crowd. Among those at Kauffman Stadium were Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Hall of Famers George Brett and Reggie Jackson, and actor and noted Yankees fan Alfonso Ribeiro. KEY STAT Judge has reached safely in 61 of 65 games this season, including every game the Yankees have played on the road. UP NEXT RHP Clarke Schmidt (2-3, 4.04 ERA) starts Tuesday night for New York. LHP Kris Bubic (5-3, 1.43 ERA) gets the nod for Kansas City.
