Auburn will face Georgia at JHS in the primetime window. The Georgia head coach spoke on the time slot Tuesday at SEC Media Days.
One of the most highly anticipated games on the SEC docket this season will take place on Saturday, Oct. 11, at Jordan-Hare Stadium when the Auburn Tigers host the Georgia Bulldogs.
Not only will the game be another chapter in "The Deep South's Oldest Rivalry," but the game will also be played at night for the first time since 2014. Jordan-Hare Stadium, especially during night games, is one of the most electrifying atmospheres in college football, which is why some are putting the defending SEC champions on upset alert ahead of their trip to the Plains.
Georgia head coach Kirby Smart was asked about the upcoming game and to describe the atmosphere at Auburn's home stadium. Smart jokingly responded with "you want me to pump up Jordan-Hare?" before giving the atmosphere a ton of credit.
'It's already one of the iconic places to play college football,' Smart said via AL.com. 'Some of the greatest games in SEC history have come out of that stadium. It's one of the toughest places to play in college football because of the passion and environment that they create.'
Georgia has won eight games in a row over Auburn, but has lost several heartbreaking games inside Jordan-Hare Stadium over the last 15 years. The Bulldogs lost to Auburn, 40-17, in 2017 when they were ranked No. 1 in the country. A few other examples include the 2013 "Prayer at Jordan-Hare" game when Auburn quarterback Nick Marshall connected with wide receiver Ricardo Louis on a tipped pass within the final minute to escape an upset bid by the Bulldogs, and the 2010 game when Cam Newton led the Tigers to a 49-31 win.
Smart was also asked about the possibility of the SEC switching to a nine-game format, which could affect the annual meeting between the Tigers and Bulldogs. Smart says that the annual rivalry game is one that he would hate to lose due to the tradition of the game, which has been played 129 times.
'That's a tradition I love,' Smart said. "I grew up in southwest Georgia where it was easier to get to Auburn than it was Georgia from where I lived. So, I respect that rivalry, but they're all big games."

CBS Sports projects Florida as No. 1 seed in way-too-early March Madness projections

Is it too early to start projecting the 2026 March Madness field? Bracketology experts never sleep, and CBS Sports Writer David Cobb is taking a stab at predicting which teams will make the NCAA Tournament eight months ahead of time. The Florida Gators are one of Cobb's four No. 1 seeds, landing in the East region against the winner of the Montana-Quinnipiac play-in projection for the No. 16 seed. Connecticut, Louisville and Texas Tech are behind UF in the East, in that order. The other No. 1 seeds are Houston (Midwest), Purdue (South) and St. John's (West). Cobb has 11 SEC teams making the field, with Georgia and Mississippi State in the first four out. The only three SEC teams not expected to compete for a March Madness spot are LSU, Oklahoma and South Carolina. While it may seem like a fool's errand to make these kinds of picks so far out from the actual tournament, there's a method to the madness here. With the transfer portal settling down and the NBA draft now complete, most Power Five rosters are in place. The occasional depth addition happens, but all the big transfer names are settled. Poor play, unexpected player development and injuries will impact these kinds of projections as the season goes on, but most preseason predictions aren't changing, at least in a drastic manner. Cobb leaned on Bart Torvik's preseason analytic projections for this exercise. Torvik is a tool the NCAA committee has begun using over the past few seasons, so this should be in line with what the decision-makers think coming into the fall. Insider breaks down how T.J. Watt's record deal with Steelers came together

From The Insiders on @nflnetwork: From T.J. Watt's ✌🏼 pic to the 💪🏼 shot today, the #Steelers stayed calm and confident a contract extension would get done. And it did. Fans may have been growing nervous over the months-long T.J. Watt contract talks — but insider Mike Garafolo reported the same can't be said for the Steelers organization. On Thursday's episode of NFL Network's The Insiders, Garafolo discussed how training camp impacted Watt's new three-year, $123 million contract extension — and how the Steelers were confident throughout the negotiations that a deal would get done: "I remember talking to people in the [Steelers] building then, and I mentioned this on The Insiders, they said, 'Look, [Watt] probably just doesn't want to come to minicamp. Like, he'll be here for training camp because we feel really good about the offer we put out there right now. It is right there at the top of the market.' "At the time, Myles Garrett had been done at $40 million dollars per year, so they understood what they were going to have to do here. And nobody was panicking because the thought was, 'Once we get closer to training camp, that will be the pressure point that eventually gets this done.'" Garafolo's report that the Steelers weren't 'panicking' is supported by Mike Tomlin's previously unwavering stance on Watt remaining with the team — and there's little evidence to suggest Pittsburgh was ever nervous about a deal not getting done. Still, it's exciting, to say the least, that both sides can finally put this chapter behind them and focus on training camp — which kicks off next week on July 23, when the Steelers report to Latrobe. Notre Dame places its two RB commits on Rivals top-10 at the position for 2026 cycle

The Notre Dame football 2026 recruiting class as it currently stands, will go down as one of the best classes, if not the best, in the modern era of college football. The Irish have twenty-six commits in the cycle, a group that is viewed as one of the top collections of talent in the nation. Its image got even better recently, as Rivals merger with On3 pushed a new updated to the class. We've already seen a big-time jump from offensive tackle Grayson McKeogh, and recently Keegan Pope highlighted the top-10 running backs nationally. Notre Dame has two of them on the list, Jonaz Walton and Javian Osbrone, giving them a pair of 4-star commits. Walton, a 5-foot, 9-inch and 190-pounder out of Georgia has an overall rank of No. 120, is viewed as a slightly better prospect, although you could argue that beauty is in the eye of the ranker. As for Osborne, he's got similar size at 5-foot, 10-inches and 195-pounds, is just behind his future teammate at No. 139. There is plenty of excitement surrounding this duo of commits, as we have seen in the recent years that many Notre Dame running backs have had success at this level and the next. They'll surely have yet another one taken in this coming NFL draft with Jeremiyah Love, and depending on what Jadarian Price does, there could be two. The Notre Dame running back room is plenty talented, and will get deeper as soon as this pair arrives on campus.
