The Chicago Bears are set to see how their first season under new head coach Ben Johnson will play out. Johnson was the longtime offensive coordinator for the Detroit Lions, serving under head coach Dan Campbell.

It was only a matter of time until Johnson accepted a bigger position, and that came during the 2025 offseason. Now that Johnson has his own team to run, it appears the friendly nature of his rapport with Campbell has disappeared.
The pair will meet as opponents twice this season, as they both exist in the NFC North. With Johnson having to outcoach his former boss, it appears that Campbell has ceased communication.
"My phone's been quiet for a while now.." 😂

Johnson joined Kay Adams as the NFL insider who travels to multiple training camps. While speaking with Adams about what he learned from Campbell and his time with the Lions, Johnson revealed a hilarious revelation that the friendly texts he shared with Campbell have stopped.
"There are a number of things with the alignment at the top that was second-to-none there. I wish them nothing but the best, all but two games this year. There's a number of people I love there, and those relationships are why you do what you do. We are looking to building something special in Chicago," Johnson stated.

Adams also inquires as to whether he and Campbell have texted one another about their preseason wins and losses, or anything for that matter.
"When did it stop, the friendly exchanges of texts?" Adams asked of Johnson.
"My phone's been quiet for a while now," Johnson hilariously responded.
Despite Campbell and Johnson now existing in the same division, it would be believed they are not mortal enemies by any stretch of the imagination. However, they are now divisional rivals, which matters a great deal in the NFL.

Steelers CB Jalen Ramsey gets ridiculous penalty on sloppy opening drive

The Pittsburgh Steelers have rested most of their top defenders for the first two games of the preseason. But on Thursday night against the Carolina Panthers, head coach Mike Tomlin inexplicably decided to trot out several starters for their first action of the season. One of those defensive starters is cornerback Jalen Ramsey. Unfortunately, Ramsey's debut with the Steelers wasn't what the fans had hoped for. Ramsey got a little overzealous as they came up to make a play on Panthers running back Trevor Etienne. Ramsey initially made a great play, holding Etienne to a three-yard loss. However, Ramsey took it too far and ended up getting flagged for unnecessary roughness and turning a three-yard loss into a 15-yard penalty. Carolina went down the field and ended up getting a field goal on the drive to take the early lead. The Steelers made a trade with the Miami Dolphins to bring Ramsey to the team. Pittsburgh then gave Ramsey a 4-year, $84,700,000 contract. The Steelers have placed high expectations on Ramsey to lead this secondary and get this defense over the playoff hump.
