Delhi CM Gupta inaugurates new DTC depot in Narela; flags off 105 electric DEVI buses
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday inaugurated a newly-constructed DTC bus depot at Sector A9, Narela, and flagged off over 100 new Delhi Electric Vehicle Interchange (DEVI) buses, marking a major milestone in Delhi's push toward sustainable public transport.
The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of several prominent leaders, including BJP MP Yogender Chandoliya and Ministers Pankaj Kumar Singh and Ravinder Indraj Singh.
The electric buses, designed to provide clean, efficient, and comfortable public transportation, are part of the city's larger initiative to combat pollution and improve last-mile connectivity under the DEVI initiative.
Speaking at the event, Minister Singh underlined the environmental significance of the development.
"Pollution has always been a major issue in Delhi, but this time you would have noticed there hasn't been any situation that led the NGT to impose any bans. This is a new step towards a pollution-free Delhi. To provide people with a pleasant travel experience, electric buses have been introduced," he said.
Highlighting the growing importance of the Narela region, Chandoliya said, "Today, 105 electric DEVI buses are being flagged off from here. Many big government projects and universities are coming up here in Narela."
Minister Singh praised the rapid development and quality of the new facility. "This terminal has been built in just 90 days and has been inaugurated with all modern amenities. For drivers, conductors, and the general public, RO drinking water and a large EV charging centre have been set up here," he said.
The launch of the 105 electric buses from the Narela depot marks a significant leap in Delhi's efforts to reduce vehicular emissions while ensuring modern and accessible transport facilities for its residents.
The newly-inaugurated bus terminal will serve as a critical node in the expanding electric public transit network of the national Capital and reduce traffic pollution in the years to come.

Servotech EV Infra signs MoU with NPCL to develop EV charging network in Greater Noida
Servotech EV Infra , operating under the brand Incharz, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Noida Power Company Limited ( NPCL ) to expand electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure in Greater Noida. The MoU was signed by Sanket Srivastava, Head of PMS & Sustainability at NPCL, and Prem Prakash, CEO of Incharz. NPCL is a joint venture between the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group and the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority. Under the agreement, the two organisations will work jointly to identify and develop EV charging stations at locations including residential complexes, office buildings, commercial areas and hospitals. NPCL will support the effort by suggesting potential sites and facilitating coordination with electricity distribution companies (DISCOMs) to streamline installation timelines and reduce costs. Initial rollout In the first phase, EV charging stations have already been installed at two residential societies in Greater Noida. At Stellar Jeevan, Incharz has set up 7.4 kW and 10 kW AC chargers. At Ace Divino, the site features a 40 kW DC charger and a 10 kW AC charger, with capacity to charge three two-wheelers simultaneously. Prem Prakash, CEO of Incharz, said, 'This partnership with NPCL marks a defining milestone in our journey toward building a smart and scalable EV charging network throughout the nation. It aligns perfectly with Servotech's larger mission to solarise India and transform its cities into clean energy ecosystems. Delhi CM Rekha Gupta participates in Jagannath Rath Yatra in Hauz Khas
New Delhi [India], June 27 (ANI): Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday attended the 48th Jagannath Rath Yatra in Hauz Khas. CM Gupta was joined by BJP MP from New Delhi, Bansuri Swaraj. While speaking to the reporters, the Delhi CM expressed gratitude for receiving the opportunity to participate in the Jagannath Rath Yatra. She mentioned that she prayed to Lord Jagannath that give his blessings to Delhi and the country. 'Being a 'sevak of the state of Delhi, today I was able to 'jhadu gohari' in front of Lord Jagannath's Rath Yatra and this Rath Yatra is being inaugurated by paying my respects to the Lord. According to the advisory, the restricted stretches include the IIT Flyover to AIIMS Loop with possible congestion on the Outer Ring Road, Ring Road and August Kranti Marg. 'In view of the 47th Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath on 27.06.2025 (Friday) from 02:00 PM to 06:00 PM in Hauz Khas, traffic movement will be regulated/diverted on Aurobindo Marg and adjoining stretches. Restricted stretches include IIT Flyover to AIIMS Loop, with possible congestion on Outer Ring Road, Ring Road and August Kranti Marg. Kindly follow the advisory and plan your commute accordingly', the advisory read. Meanwhile, the ISCKON Dwarka is organising the biggest Rath Yatra after Jagannath Puri whose chariot has been designed with 108 types of mangoes. The ISKCON will conduct distribution of 11,000 kg mangoes. The devotees can get the opportunity to pull the chariot by arriving at ISKCON Dwarka at 4 pm on Friday. During the festival in Puri, devotees draw the grand chariots of the three deities -- Lord Jagannath, his brother Lord Balabhadra, and sister goddess Subhadra -- to the Gundicha Temple, where the deities reside for a week and then return to the Jagannath Temple. The Rath Yatra ceremony attracts a large crowd, making traffic management a key issue. Earlier today, a large number of devotees gathered at the Jagannath temple in Puri, Odisha, as the grand annual Rath Yatra festival began on Friday morning. People from across the country arrived to witness the grand chariots of the three deities: Lord Jagannath, his brother Lord Balabhadra, and sister goddess Subhadra, at the Gundicha temple, where the deities reside for a week before returning to the Jagannath temple. Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended greetings on the occasion of the Jagannath Rath Yatra on Friday.
