Jordan steps into the CMO role after serving as Group Vice President of Product Management and ISV Partner Programmes at Epicor since 2023. In her previous position, she played a key role in developing Epicor's Cognitive ERP roadmap, which is intended to shift ERP systems from traditional record-keeping to systems of action and insight powered by AI.
As Chief Marketing Officer, Jordan will be responsible for leading Epicor's global marketing strategy. This involves overseeing brand growth and customer engagement across operations in manufacturing, distribution, and related sectors.

With her background in both product innovation and marketing, Jordan is expected to integrate industry-focused product strategy, analytics, and go-to-market approaches. I look forward to amplifying our impact, deepening relationships with our customers and partners, and driving growth across our global markets."

Suntory boosts wellness with Rimini-driven Comado app launch

Suntory has extended its collaboration with Rimini Street, appointing Rimini Consult to develop Comado, a gamified mobile application for members of Suntory Wellness, integrating with its existing Oracle systems. The project was completed within a four-month timeframe. Rimini Street provided new development environments and seamless integration for Comado, without incurring additional costs for Suntory. The expansion follows Suntory's decision in 2021 to transition from vendor-based Oracle support to Rimini Support, a move that resulted in a 50% reduction in support costs and allowed Suntory's IT team to focus on higher-value initiatives. Continued partnership Suntory has benefited from Rimini Support for Oracle systems, such as Oracle Database, Oracle Technology, and Hyperion, using the cost savings and expertise to enhance core operations. In selecting Rimini Consult to build the customer engagement app, Suntory cited the comprehensive understanding and experience Rimini Street holds with its Oracle landscape. "The advantage of engaging with Rimini Street on multiple services is that they have deep knowledge of our systems, and know how to maximise their potential," said Takuro Yamashita, Assistant Manager at Suntory Systems Technology, the IT department for Suntory Group. "With the great history of success on the support side of the relationship, we were confident they would be able to help us launch this strategic project without adding unnecessary cost or delay to the project – and Rimini Street delivered brilliantly." Yamashita noted that the company had already allocated its IT resources to other high-priority projects, making third-party support essential for the timely delivery of Comado. The health initiative required significant application development, multiple distinct Oracle environments, and comprehensive integration, all with an accelerated delivery schedule. "We had already committed our IT team to priority projects and didn't have the in-house bandwidth to start this important initiative. At the time, several strategic application developments were being launched, and expanding the development environments of existing systems for integration was essential to realise them. And we were requested by the board to launch this within 4 months, creating a difficult position for us," said Yamashita. "So, we consulted with Rimini Street from the beginning, not just for their technical knowledge, but to help us with the talent resources needed to take this project to the finish line, on time." Project delivery Rimini Street's teams worked with Suntory to create new development and quality assurance environments, while ensuring the Oracle platform remained stable and scalable for both existing and new operations. Detailed plans and close coordination ensured Suntory's requirements were accommodated throughout the process. "Most consulting firms tell you their timeframe. Rimini Street asked us for ours," Yamashita said. "The project had to be carried out under extremely difficult conditions, but they worked closely with us to ensure our needs were met at every step, enabling us to meet our launch deadline without compromising quality or requiring us to buy more products." The need for fast, efficient digital innovation is representative of broader trends noted by Rimini Street in its engagements. Yusuf Abdul-Rehman, Group Vice President of Rimini Consult said, "Suntory was experiencing a situation that we often find with our clients: the need to compete fast and flawlessly with stretched resources." Abdul-Rehman added, "Many of the consulting service providers often offer a narrow scope of solutions or are focused on selling additional services, which take customers down paths that require more investment than necessary to achieve business results. Rimini Consult takes a holistic approach to meeting client needs by 'doing the right work, at the right price, to achieve maximum client results.'" Future initiatives Suntory's launch of Comado strengthens its activities in the wellness sector, providing a new digital channel for engaging with its wellness members. The partnership with Rimini Street, spanning both support and consulting, has enabled Suntory to allocate more resources to strategic priorities while keeping costs contained. Yamashita commented, "If you have projects, you want taken care of, we happily recommend you discuss them with the professionals at Rimini Street."

Oracle launches global Exadata service for AI & analytics

Oracle has launched its Globally Distributed Exadata Database on Exascale Infrastructure, providing businesses with a new approach to deploying mission-critical applications and agentic AI workloads across various cloud regions while meeting local data residency requirements. Service features The recently available service is designed to support organisations as they manage high-availability applications and extensive global operations. Key aspects include automated data distribution and synchronisation across multiple sites, ensuring continued operation during regional outages. The service is intended to enable companies to deploy workloads, including those requiring real-time analytics, transactional capacity, and agentic AI processing, without complex configuration or management tasks. Oracle states that the solution utilises a flexible, serverless architecture, allowing resources to scale in response to fluctuating workloads. Pricing is presented as simple and based on the number and types of virtual machines and storage selected, which the company says gives customers clear visibility of operational costs without hidden charges. Industry adoption PayPal has used Oracle Exadata for years to maintain performance consistency and critical system uptime. Akash Guha, Director of Database Engineering at PayPal, explained the company's plans for the new service: "Providing exceptional customer satisfaction is important to PayPal, so we've been using Oracle Exadata for many years to provide lightning-fast response times and mission-critical availability. As our global business grows, we plan to provide even faster responses by using distributed solutions that are integrated with our core systems of record to provide extreme availability and performance. We look forward to using Oracle Globally Distributed Exadata Database on Exascale Infrastructure's always-on, serverless architecture with built-in Raft replication to accelerate responses, enable greater application resilience, and lower costs with scalable resources." Technical benefits The new offering contains several mechanisms aimed at addressing the main requirements of agentic AI and global applications. These include high performance for large workloads and vector search, always-on availability through Raft replication and fault-tolerant architecture, support for data residency and sovereignty, and cost-efficiency through hyperscale, serverless implementation. Wei Hu, Senior Vice President, High Availability Technologies at Oracle, commented on the challenges faced by customers aiming to distribute databases at scale: "Customers often struggle to deploy and manage distributed databases due to the high cost and complexity involved in operating large numbers of servers across multiple data centres and regions. Oracle Globally Distributed Exadata Database on Exascale Infrastructure's serverless architecture enables customers of all sizes to meet their diverse requirements at a low cost. Oracle notes that the system naturally supports the full Oracle Database and SQL capabilities, enabling clients to distribute resources to multiple locations with minimal modifications to existing applications. Workload support The Globally Distributed Exadata Database on Exascale Infrastructure has been designed with several specific use cases in mind. Its active/active/active architecture supports mission-critical processes such as payments, eCommerce, and securities trading by maintaining synchronised data across multiple centres. Automated data distribution policies allow enterprises in finance and healthcare to meet regulations on data sovereignty. User proximity features enable companies in sectors like retail, telecommunications, and healthcare to reduce latency by storing data closer to end users. Petabyte-scale analytics functionality provides for real-time streaming and processing, vital for manufacturing and utility industries, and the infrastructure's online transaction processing (OLTP) capability supports millions of transactions with low latency for AI-driven and analytic workloads. AI and data perspectives Holger Mueller, Vice President and Principal Analyst at Constellation Research, said: "In the age of AI, especially agentic AI, customers need a new approach to allow for vector processing across distributed global applications. Oracle Globally Distributed Exadata Database on Exascale Infrastructure incorporates Exadata's extreme performance for AI processing and availability for the core back-end systems that implement agent-initiated tasks, while Exascale's hyper-elastic and pay-per-use capabilities makes it very cost-effective. With this service from Oracle, CIOs can confidently deploy agentic AI and mission-critical applications globally and meet local data residency requirements." According to Oracle, by overcoming barriers related to performance, data sovereignty, cost, and elastic scalability, the service aims to appeal to a range of industries where operational continuity, data compliance, and processing performance are mandatory.
