After setting a Pikes Peak 'Open Class' record in 2023 with the SuperVan 4.2, and winning the thing outright last year with the F-150 Lightning Supertruck, Ford will take to the clouds once more this weekend with its bombastic new Super Mustang Mach-E.
Ford says it's "leaner, lighter and with a new kind of edge" over its predecessors, and as you'd expect, the numbers are terrifying. Take caution before proceeding.

This ripped Mach-E retains the same triple motor setup as Ford's previous two competitors, delivering upwards of 1,400bhp. Hooked up to that will be a 50kWh high-performance battery and sparkly 800V system.
Ford has also tweaked the regenerative braking, which now operates at up to 710kW. Mighty important, when you're traversing 156 turns across 12-something miles of mountain road.
And then there's the weight: the Super Mustang is 113kg lighter than the Supertruck, whose weight was never publicly disclosed, but likely far less than a standard F-150 Lightning's 2.7 tonnes.
On to downforce, where Ford quotes 3,130kg at 150mph. S'pose that's what happens when you've got a front splitter which wants to double-up as a snow plough, a rear diffuser that mimics a black hole, and… that rear wing.

Behind the wheel will be a familiar face in five-time Pikes Peak winner Romain Dumas. He's also won the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Spa and Nürburgring, so those are some properly safe hands. Reckon the SuperStang will be... handy?

Thereafter, the Laramie still starts at $60,030, the Rebel maintains a base MSRP of $64,195, and the off-road-biased RHO starts at $69,995. If you want more luxury, the Limited starts at $75,155 and the Tungsten costs $87,075. Ram Offers More Value For 2026 It remains to be seen if Ram will continue to offer incentives to bring the price down a little (the RHO pictured above currently has a $1,000 incentive available in California, for example), but even if Stellantis decides that the pricing we see here is the final figure, buying a new Ram truck now comes with more peace of mind, thanks to a newly launched 10-year warranty that is valid for up to 100,000 miles. Besides that, a V8 model is making its return, setting up a potential fight with Ford's new F-150 Lobo street truck, and the outrageous TRX is also set to stage a comeback. Unfortunately, the electric 1500 REV pickup is still nowhere to be seen, and the Ramcharger PHEV is delayed until early next year, but with Ram returning to NASCAR with a HEMI truck, internal combustion is clearly still a critical part of its identity. Mercedes-Benz recalls over 92,000
Mercedes-Benz has recalled more than 92,000 vehicles in the US due to a serious safety issue that could heighten the risk of injury in a crash. The recall affects 92,851 cars from model years 2023 through 2025, all of which come equipped with panoramic sunroofs. The issue arises from a structural flaw that could cause the car's C-pillar, the rearmost support beam, to fail in certain collisions. This could put passengers at risk, as their heads might make contact with the pillar, which may not absorb the impact as required by Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. In a notice filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on June 9, Mercedes-Benz revealed that the recall impacts several models, and that those involved may not meet the necessary impact absorption standards.
