On Tuesday, a new trailer for the revamped Dynasty Mode was revealed, as were the new rankings for the "toughest place to play" in the game. A year ago, this list sparked some controversy amongst college football fans, with Texas A&M's Kyle Field grabbing the No. 1 spot over the likes of LSU's Tiger Stadium, or Ohio State's Ohio Stadium.
It appears that the creators at EA Sports were listening, because the new list of toughest places to play looks quite a bit different this year.

According to the new rankings, LSU's Tiger Stadium has taken over the No. 1 spot, followed by Penn State's Beaver Stadium, Ohio State's Ohio Stadium, and Georgia's Sanford Stadium.

Here's a look at the top 10 of the rankings, compared to how they were slated a year ago:
1. Tiger Stadium (No. 3 in CFB25)
2. Beaver Stadium (No. 6 in CFB25)
3. Ohio Stadium (No. 4 in CFB25)
4. Sanford Stadium (No. 5 in CFB25)
5. Bryant-Denney Stadium (No. 2 in CFB25)
6. Memorial Stadium (No. 12 in CFB25)
7. Ben Hill Griffin Stadium (No. 10 in CFB25)
8. Oklahoma Memorial Stadium (No. 8 in CFB25)
9. Autzen Stadium (No. 11 in CFB25)
10. Michigan Stadium (No. 16 in CFB25)
We will see how different these rankings make the game play once it comes out in July, but at the very least, it is a good display of where the powers that be think are the loudest stadiums in the nation, and which teams have the biggest home-field advantage going into the new season.

You Won't Believe the Last Time Scottie Scheffler Paid for a Round of Golf

You Won't Believe the Last Time Scottie Scheffler Paid for a Round of Golf originally appeared on Athlon Sports. As the PGA Tour heads toward the FedExCup playoffs, Scottie Scheffler stands atop the leaderboard of professional golf. The 29-year-old American has claimed four major championships (two this year) and secured his grip on the World No. 1 ranking for 151 weeks, an era of dominance that few in the sport can rival. But away from the tournament fairways and leaderboards, Scheffler revealed on Wednesday a slice of life that many fans wouldn't expect from the world's top player. Asked when he last paid for a round, Scheffler joked, "It's been a while. I remember the last time I didn't get to pay for a round…one of my buddies in the pro shop had to pay for a round. That was pretty funny." He recounted walking into a local public course about five years ago, asking his friend at the pro shop to ring him up for tee times. The pro said, "Oh no no, you're good," only to turn to Scheffler's friend and say, "Actually, you gotta pay." Scheffler laughed at the memory, noting that they still tease his friend about footing the bill. Scottie Scheffler's Early PGA Career: From Junior Star to Tour Rookie Scheffler's rise began long before he turned pro in 2018. As a youth, he won 90 of 136 junior events on the Northern Texas PGA circuit and captured the 2013 U.S. Junior Amateur title. At the University of Texas, he helped the Longhorns to Big 12 championships and earned Phil Mickelson Freshman of the Year honors in 2015. On the Korn Ferry Tour in 2019, Scheffler's play propelled him to Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year and Finals points list winner, granting him full PGA Tour status for 2020. He wasted little time making waves as a rookie, finishing fourth on the money list and earning PGA Tour Rookie of the Year. The Scottie Scheffler Breakthrough Year: 2022 and Beyond The 2022 season marked Scheffler's true arrival on golf's biggest stage. In the span of three months, he notched his first PGA Tour victory, ascended to world No. 1, hoisted his first green jacket at the Masters Tournament and won PGA Tour Player of the Year. That breakthrough season included four wins, an astonishing run that made him the first golfer since Arnold Palmer in 1960 (and only the second ever) to win that many events, including the Masters, in that span of time to begin the season. He backed that up by winning The Players Championship in both 2023 and 2024, becoming the first player to secure back-to-back titles at the sport's "fifth major." At the 2024 Paris Olympics, Scheffler added an individual gold medal to his resume and capped the year by clinching the inaugural FedExCup title at East Lake Golf Club. This season, he's won four events: The CJ Cup Byron Nelson, PGA Championship, Memorial Tournament and Open Championship, joining Tiger Woods as the only two players to win the Open Championship while ranked No. 1 in the world. Yankees fans ready to remind Correa and Altuve about 2017 and old grudges

Yankees fans ready to remind Correa and Altuve about 2017 and old grudges originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Carlos Correa's return to the Astros was billed as one of baseball's feel-good stories of the summer. The former cornerstone, back in orange after a surprise deadline trade from Minnesota, is reunited not with the full 2017 core but really just with Jose Altuve, the other face of the 2017 championship that Yankees fans still believe came with an asterisk. Around baseball, the narrative leans on nostalgia. In the Bronx, there's none for the Astros. When Correa and the Astros made their first post-cheating scandal visit to Yankee Stadium, the Bronx erupted. He's also been back as a Twin. But walking into the Bronx this weekend alongside Altuve changes the math. Together, they are the two players most associated with the trash-can era: the shortstop who delivered October dagger hits and the second baseman whose every at-bat here still draws a chorus of boos. It's not hard to imagine what's coming this weekend. The first time Altuve steps in, the crowd will let loose. When Correa follows, the volume might actually rise. What matters here is memory. Yankee fans don't forget, and do not forgive, especially when the reminders are standing side by side in the other dugout. And with weekend crowds and plenty of beer money, that memory tends to get even louder. Adding fuel to it all, Saturday is Old-Timers' Day — another reminder to fans that the Yankees' road to their 28th championship may have been detoured by those 2017 Astros. Maybe that's the silver lining for New York. The Yankees have been flat in recent weeks, struggling to find an edge in a playoff race that's suddenly tighter than they'd like. If anything can jolt them, it might be the energy of an old feud. For the Astros, Correa's return is about chemistry and chasing another pennant. For Yankees fans, it's about payback — and a weekend soundtrack built for maximum volume. This story was originally reported by Athlon Sports on Aug 8, 2025, where it first appeared.

Ohtani Does Something Amazing Again

Ohtani Does Something Amazing Again originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Shohei Ohtani Makes Unique MLB History Shohei Ohtani added another remarkable chapter to his incredible career on Wednesday night in Anaheim. Serving as both the Los Angeles Dodgers' starting pitcher and their leadoff hitter, Ohtani opened the game with a triple. According to MLB Network's Sarah Langs, no starting pitcher in Major League Baseball history had ever hit a leadoff triple before this moment. It is the kind of unprecedented accomplishment that has become almost routine for Ohtani, a player who constantly redefines what is possible on a baseball field. His speed, power and versatility continue to make him one of the most exciting stars in the game. Shohei Ohtani's Impressive Season at the Plate and on the Mound This season, Ohtani has been a force in both the batter's box and on the pitcher's mound. At the plate, he is piling up extra-base hits, home runs and stolen bases, showing why he is among the league leaders in multiple offensive categories. His eighth triple of the season on Wednesday tied a career high, further proving his elite speed. On the mound, Ohtani is looking to return to a dominant starter, striking out batters at an impressive rate and limiting opponents to very few scoring opportunities. He came into Wednesday's game with a 2.37 ERA over 19 innings, along with 25 strikeouts. Few players in the history of the sport have been able to excel at both hitting and pitching throughout a full season, and Ohtani continues to thrive in both roles. Dodgers Pushing Toward the Pennant Race The Los Angeles Dodgers are deep in the hunt for another National League pennant, and Ohtani's historic performances are a major reason why. The team has been strong in all phases of the game with timely hitting and dependable defense, and they are hoping Ohtani can bring the lights out pitching. As the postseason approaches, every win is critical, and Ohtani's ability to contribute as both a starting pitcher and a top-of-the-order bat gives the Dodgers a rare advantage. With Ohtani in the lineup, along with other stars, the Dodgers remain one of the favorites to make a deep playoff run. Angels Beat the Dodgers in Rivalry Clash While Ohtani's triple made headlines Wednesday night, the Los Angeles Angels have managed to steal the spotlight in the standings by defeating the Dodgers in the first two games of this series. In this cross-town rivalry, every matchup draws added attention, and the Angels' victory served as a reminder that no game can be taken for granted. For Ohtani, facing his former team is always a special occasion, and his ability to make history against the Angels only adds to the drama.
