Uttarakhand CM Dhami attends Ram Katha in Chamoli, highlights cultural revival under PM Modi
Chamoli (Uttarakhand) [India], May 4 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the Ram Katha on Sunday at Nandprayag, the sacred confluence of the Alaknanda and Nandakini rivers, as per a release the Chief Minister's Office (CMO).
Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister said it was his good fortune to witness the Santvani during the spiritual gathering, which he described as a divine medium for awakening spiritual consciousness and life values through the ideals of Lord Shri Ram.
According to the statement, Dhami noted that 'the life story of Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram is a medium to awaken spiritual consciousness. Ramkatha is a divine opportunity to awaken our life values and imbibe the ideals of Lord Shri Ram. His ideals show how much importance religion, compassion, truth, service, and devotion have in our lives.'
He also praised spiritual leader Morari Bapu, stating that his Amritvani inspires us to make our lives Rammay--imbued with the essence of Lord Ram.
The Chief Minister highlighted the cultural renaissance taking place in the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and cited the completion of key religious and cultural projects such as the Vishwanath Corridor, Mahakal Lok, and the grand temple of Lord Shri Ram in Ayodhya as major milestones.
He noted that under PM Modi's leadership our Sanatan culture received a new global identity and these achievements reflect the commitment to preserve and promote our rich spiritual and cultural heritage.
'Our Sanatan culture got a new identity at the global level. Under his guidance, the state government is continuously working towards the overall development of the state as well as preserving and enhancing the cultural heritage,' the statement added.
Earlier today, Uttarakhand Chief Minister performed the first Mahabhishek Puja in the name of PM Modi and prayed for the happiness and prosperity of the country and the state, as the portals of Badrinath Dham were opened for devotees.
On the occasion, Chief Minister Dhami offered prayers at various temples in the complex, including the Lakshmi Temple, Ganesh Temple, and the Adi Guru Shankaracharya Gaddi. Around 15,000 devotees from across India and abroad were present to witness the ceremonial reopening. (ANI)

'There are clearly issues around the suspension of permanent magnet supplies from China to India, which will particularly affect our auto sector and several white goods manufacturers,' he said. Automotive companies in India have sought the government's assistance to expedite approval processes for importing rare earth magnets, which are vital components in electric vehicles and other technologies. India's Strategy: Diplomatic and Domestic Measures The minister outlined a multi-pronged strategy to mitigate the impact of the export curbs. The Indian embassy in China is actively engaging with authorities to facilitate existing applications, while the commerce ministry is working to identify and secure alternative supply sources globally. Additionally, the government is ramping up efforts to enhance domestic capabilities by strengthening Indian Rare Earths Limited (IREL). 'We are providing all necessary resources to accelerate our own rare earth production,' Goyal stated. Industry Shifting Away from Subsidy Dependence Goyal noted a growing maturity within Indian industry, pointing out that many companies are now proactively collaborating with domestic startups and innovators instead of relying solely on government support. 'They are becoming bigger and bolder in their approach,' he remarked, adding that firms are even willing to fund early-stage innovations and support pricing transitions. Encouraging conversations with automotive manufacturers indicate confidence in the ability to address these supply chain disruptions collaboratively, Goyal added. Technological Innovation and Trusted Partnerships India is also banking on technological breakthroughs to reduce its reliance on Chinese rare earths. The minister referenced ongoing research and development initiatives that aim to provide alternative solutions. 'There are some technologies that India is developing,' he said, emphasising that the collaborative ecosystem—comprising government, industry, and innovators—is working cohesively. Turning Crisis Into Opportunity Despite the challenges, Goyal struck an optimistic tone, calling the disruption a strategic opportunity to strengthen India's manufacturing base and global relevance. 'More and more companies and people in India will recognise that it is important to be self-reliant and to have trusted partners in supply chains,' he said. With growing international recognition of India as a reliable supply chain partner, Goyal believes the crisis could catalyse a shift toward greater resilience and global integration for Indian industry. SGPC introduces unique ID code to track holy saroops
The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has introduced a modern printing system for publishing saroops of Sri Guru Granth Sahib. The system includes state-of-the-art technology and a unique identification code, aimed at ensuring transparency and proper record-keeping. The revamped printing facility, located at Sri Guru Granth Sahib Bhavan on the premises of Gurdwara Ramsar Sahib in Amritsar, was inaugurated by SGPC president Harjinder Singh Dhami on Monday. 'The highlight of this initiative is the introduction of a digital identification code—called Sewa Pehchan Ank (service identification number)—that will be printed on every saroop. This code is part of a unified identification system designed to maintain a digital database of each published saroop, enabling traceability, accountability and preserving the sanctity of the holy saroop,' Dhami said. This move comes in the wake of a major controversy in 2020, when 328 saroops were found missing from SGPC records due to alleged misappropriation by staff. The issue led to a serious backlash from the Sikh community and an investigation by the Akal Takht, the highest temporal authority of Sikhs. Several SGPC employees were found guilty of negligence and misconduct. 'In light of the past incidents, it became crucial to establish a foolproof system for maintaining the sanctity and proper record of each saroop. Sri Guru Granth Sahib is the central pillar of faith for the Sikh community, and maintaining the reverence and sanctity of the holy saroops is a major responsibility of Sikh institutions. It is our duty to ensure every saroop is handled with the highest level of respect and responsibility. The publication of the sacred saroop is solely carried out by the SGPC, from where the saroops are distributed to the sangat (community) according to religious protocol,' Dhami added. In addition to the printing system, hall number four of the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Bhavan has been modernised to support the respectful handling, care, and preservation of the saroops. This seva (service) was carried out under the guidance of Baba Kashmir Singh Bhuriwale. Furthermore, the SGPC has constructed a new publications department office and literature house, overseen by Baba Sucha Singh and Baba Satnam Singh Qila Anandgarh Wale. 'The main objective of the renovation of the Bhavan is to make the process of publication and preservation of Sri Guru Granth Sahib more streamlined and respectful, ensuring complete security and reverence of the sacred saroops during their service and handling,' Dhami said. Similarly, the new publications department office and literature house will serve as a means to bring Sikh literature to the sangat. From here, the sangat will be able to obtain holy scriptures.

PM Modi to meet all-party global outreach delegations on Operation Sindoor today
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet with the members of the all-party delegation today at 7 PM at his residence, 7 Lok Kalyan Marg, under Operation Sindoor outreach. The all-party delegations that toured the world to explain Operation Sindoor are back home. Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju's office has informed the delegation members about the meeting, according to sources quoted by news agency ANI. Seven delegations visited several countries to address audiences, policymakers, and elected representatives on India's position on Pakistan's decades-long promotion of terrorism and New Delhi's new normal in tackling cross-border terror after Operation Sindoor. The multi-party delegations—comprising 59 lawmakers and former diplomats—travelled to 33 countries, including the European Union. The delegation included MPs from multiple parties, divided into seven groups consisting of 8-9 members. A leader was assigned for each group, who led the delegation on a global level. The delegations were headed by senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, Bharatiya Janata Party leaders Ravi Shankar Prasad and Panda, Janata Dal (United) leader Sanjay Jha, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam leader Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) leader Supriya Sule, and Shiv Sena leader Shrikant Shinde. As many as 26 people were killed and several others injured in the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam on 22 April. Indian Armed Forces launched Operation Sindoor on 7 May, targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The delegations, apart from putting forward India's position against terror also highlighted how Pakistan has been sponsoring terror and using it against India, while also calling Pakistan to be put in the Financial Action Task Force's (FATF) grey list. Operation Sindoor was launched on May 7 in response to the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam. The Indian Armed Forces carried out targeted strikes against terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in the deaths of over 100 terrorists linked to groups such as Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen.
