USA Today2 days ago
With 20 days till the Cardinals open the season against the Saints, we look at the players who have worn No. 20.
We are counting down to the start of the 2025 regular season for the Arizona Cardinals, and that is less than three weeks away. They will open the season on the road against the New Orleans Saints on Sept. 7. That is 20 days away.
As we count down the remaining days of the offseason, let's look at who has worn that number uniform over the years for the Cardinals.
Who has worn No. 20?
Cardinals players to wear No. 20
No. 20 on the Cardinals' roster is running back DeeJay Dallas, entering his second season with the team. He was their kick returner last season and will be again this season. He is also a solid special teamer.
There have been no absolutely great players with No. 20. Buccannon was solid for a couple of years. Farr was an elite cornerback before coming to the Cardinals, as he was a three-time Pro Bowler and two-time first-team All-Pro in the trhee years before playing for the Cardinals.

NFL.com's expert predictions agree on double-digit losses for the Saints in 2025

'I'd be surprised if this team doesn't encounter its fair share of growing pains' Whether the New Orleans Saints win three games in 2025 or five, the experts at are predicting the black and gold finish in last place in the NFC South. While the Saints have the second-easiest strength of schedule based on last year's standings, Ali Bhanpuri and Adam Rank both forecast a rocky season. "Five road trips over seven games is a lot for any team," Bhanpuri wrote, highlighting Weeks 7 to 14 as the lowest point on the schedule. While that does include a bye week before a grudge match with the rival Atlanta Falcons, cross-country flights to visit the Los Angeles Rams and Carolina Panthers in consecutive weeks isn't a recipe for success. However, Bhanpuri doesn't see that Week 12 Falcons game as an automatic win for Atlanta: "Went back and forth on this game until ultimately siding with Atlanta. But I wouldn't count out a rested Saints team making a statement at home against a hated rival." Rank agreed with Bhanpuri's predictions in picking the Saints over the rebuilding New England Patriots in Week 6, which he thinks could fuel them into a little win streak over the Chicago Bears (at Soldier Field) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (in New Orleans). But then it's seven consecutive losses for the Saints, until they win their last two games just in time to ruin their draft positioning. Could the Saints really be this bad in 2025? Maybe. Bhanpuri admitted that the team's proud veteran talent should set some kind of floor for success, but everything depends on how high the quarterback (whether it's Tyler Shough or Spencer Rattler) can elevate a weak supporting cast on offense: "There are enough veteran leaders on hand for New Orleans to win twice as many games as projected, presuming competent quarterback play. But I'd be surprised if this team doesn't encounter its fair share of growing pains as it ushers in a new era of Saints football." More and more season predictions are coming in as we get closer to the regular season, and there's just not much confidence in what the Saints are building from around the national media landscape. Kellen Moore's team will have to prove a lot of doubters wrong if they're going to succeed in 2025.

Writer Proposes Offseason Sonny Gray Trade for Cardinals – But One Obstacle Remains

As we slowly approach the offseason, there are a lot of players on the Cardinals' roster who could be moved in potential deals this winter. FanSided's Curt Bishop recently suggested the Atlanta Braves could be a landing spot for Cardinals ace Sonny Gray if St. Louis is able to trade him in the offseason. ST LOUIS, MISSOURI - AUGUST 16: Sonny Gray #54 of the St. Louis Cardinals delivers a pitch against the New York Yankees in the first inning at Busch Stadium on August 16, 2025 in St... ST LOUIS, MISSOURI - AUGUST 16: Sonny Gray #54 of the St. Louis Cardinals delivers a pitch against the New York Yankees in the first inning at Busch Stadium on August 16, 2025 in St Louis, Missouri. More"The Braves make sense for Gray because of the close proximity to his offseason home. But they also have a better outlook than the Cardinals despite what has been a down year," Bishop wrote. "Atlanta is further out of contention than St. Louis, but it's more likely that 2025 is a blip on the radar screen, especially with all the talent on Atlanta's roster, while St. Louis doesn't have much. "The Cardinals likely won't contend in 2026, and it's going to take a couple of years before they get back to prominence. So, it would make sense to trade Gray. Atlanta didn't sell at the trade deadline, likely hoping to remain competitive this year. So, it will be interesting to see just how things shake out in the offseason, but if the Cardinals are fully embracing the rebuild, expect Gray to at least be shopped this winter." The big issue with a potential Gray trade is his no-trade clause. Up to this point, Gray hasn't voiced a willingness to waive his no-trade clause for any deal to any team. Instead, he seems to be content with staying in St. Louis as a veteran leader to the younger pitchers. If this changes, the Braves would make a lot of sense as a landing spot. Atlanta needs to add more pitching, and Gray would be easy to land if the Braves are willing to take his contract, too. Cardinals Could Make Drastic Kyler Murray Decision, Insider Says

Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. It has been a wild road for Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray, the former No. 1 overall pick who flashed tantalizing potential early on in his career but has become somewhat of a forgotten man in the NFL over the last couple of seasons. A torn ACL Murray suffered during the second half of 2022 has certainly changed the trajectory of his career, although he did show some promise last year when he put together his best performance since last making the Pro Bowl in 2021. More news: Pittsburgh Steelers Projected to Swing Big Move for Aaron Rodgers But has Murray demonstrated enough in recent seasons for the Cardinals to maintain a long-term commitment to him? ESPN's Dan Graziano offered some possible outcomes for Murray in 2025, and while he feels the most likely scenario is that the 28-year-old plays well enough to keep Arizona in playoff contention, he also thinks there could be an exit plan in place. Let's just say Graziano's "long shot outcome" for Murray isn't pretty. GLENDALE, ARIZONA - SEPTEMBER 15: Quarterback Kyler Murray #1 of the Arizona Cardinals throws a pass during the first half against the Los Angeles Rams at State Farm Stadium on September 15, 2024 in Glendale,... GLENDALE, ARIZONA - SEPTEMBER 15: Quarterback Kyler Murray #1 of the Arizona Cardinals throws a pass during the first half against the Los Angeles Rams at State Farm Stadium on September 15, 2024 in Glendale, Arizona. Murray has been playing lights out to start the season. More Photo by"Arizona's season completely collapses, people in charge get fired, and a new regime comes in and decides the best thing for the franchise is to move on at QB in the 2026 draft," Graziano wrote. "Murray becomes a candidate to be released or traded, while one of the top QB prospects for 2026 lands in Arizona in Round 1." Murray signed a five-year, $230.5 million contract extension with the Cardinals back during the summer of 2022. The deal runs through 2028, with the final year of the pact being a $34 million club option. Murray played in all 17 games last season, throwing for 3,851 yards, 21 touchdowns and 11 interceptions while completing 68.8 percent of his passes and posting a 93.5 passer rating. He also rushed for 572 yards and five scores. More news: Caleb Williams' WR Comments are Bad Sign for Bears Rookie Arizona actually contended for a playoff spot in 2024 and were even briefly in first place in the NFC West, but ultimately folded down the stretch. There is no doubt that the Cardinals have enough talent to make a postseason push this fall, so we'll see if Murray can deliver. For more on the Cardinals and NFL, head to Newsweek Sports.
