Kristen Stewart and Dylan Meyer wed after 6 years of dating: A timeline of their relationship

Yahoo21-04-2025
It's wedding bells for Kristen Stewart: The Spencer star is officially married to her longtime partner, Dylan Meyer.
Stewart and her screenwriter fiancée wed in a private outdoor ceremony on April 20, according to TMZ. The intimate wedding comes less than a week after the pair reportedly obtained their marriage license at a Los Angeles courthouse. The couple, per People, 'exchanged vows at home in front of an intimate group of loved ones' that included Pretty Little Liars alum Ashley Benson and her husband, Brandon Davis.
Stewart and Meyer first met on set in 2013, but didn't start dating until 2019. Since debuting their romance on Instagram in 2019, they've kept their relationship relatively low-key. Stewart has, however, previously opened up about certain aspects of their relationship: She confirmed that she and Meyer had gotten engaged in 2021, and, in 2024, revealed that they were considering starting a family together.
Here, we look back at the couple's early beginnings and their road to the altar.
Stewart casually meets Meyer, the daughter of Oscar-nominated screenwriter Nicholas Meyer, on the set of American Ultra in 2013. However, it will be another six years before they actually get together.
Stewart and Meyer spark relationship rumors after they're photographed kissing on a street curb in New York City in August 2019. The intimate moment is captured just one month after the Twilight star was spotted kissing her ex-girlfriend, Stella Maxwell, in Italy.
Meyer makes her relationship with Stewart Instagram official two months later, in October, when she posts a photo of them kissing in a photobooth.
During a November 2019 appearance on The Howard Stern Show, Stewart reveals that she and Meyer had reunited at a mutual friend's birthday party. Recalling her first impression of Meyer, Stewart says, 'She rocked up at a friend's birthday party and I was like, 'Where have you been and why have I not known you?''
'The first time I told her I love her it was really late and we were in some shitty bar, and her friends were there or whatever and they walked out, and I was just like, 'Oh man, I'm so f***ing in love with you.' Like, done,' the Love Lies Bleeding star tells Stern of falling in love with Meyer. 'It wasn't like 'a thing,' and it also was so obvious.'
While Stewart previously told Stern that she would 'absolutely' propose to her screenwriter partner, it's Meyer who actually pops the question.
'We're marrying, we're totally gonna do it,' Stewart tells Stern in a November 2021 interview. 'I wanted to be proposed to, so I think I very distinctly carved out what I wanted and she nailed it. It was really cute, she did very well. We're marrying, it's happening.'
Stewart discusses her wedding plans during a January 2022 appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. She admits that she's 'so unceremonial' but floats the idea of having a 'big party or something.'
'We might just go do it this weekend or something, I don't know, and then, like, just hang out with everyone afterwards,' she says. 'I just want to do it, you know? I'm not a good planner. I can't make plans for dinner.'
Two months later, in March 2022, the pair attend an Oscars party hosted by the Hollywood Reporter, marking their first public appearance as a couple. They make their red carpet debut less than a week later at the Critics Choice Awards.
In her February 2024 cover story for Rolling Stone, Stewart reveals that she wants to start a family with Meyer at some point, despite being afraid of childbirth.
'I don't know what my family's going to look like, but there's no f***ing way that I don't start acquiring kids,' the 35-year-old actress says. 'I really want that to happen.'
While on the podcast Not Skinny But Not Fat in March 2024, Stewart reiterates her desire to have kids with Meyer, adding that they've even frozen their eggs to keep their options open.
'We've done really annoying things like freeze our eggs and stuff,' Stewart says. 'So if we want to, we can.'
Stewart and Meyer marry on April 20. While neither of them have confirmed the news, TMZ is the first to report that their nuptials were exchanged among family and friends. The ceremony takes place at Casita Del Campo, a restaurant in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles. Stewart had previously mentioned wanting to have their wedding in L.A.
'I want to stay home. I want to be in L.A. so everyone can come,' Stewart tells Stern in November 2021. 'I want it to be pretty chill. I don't want anyone walking anyone down any aisles. We're just going to like, stand and do vows and f***ing party after. It's kind of just a great excuse to get together and say 'I love you' in front of all your friends.'

Kirsten Dunst reveals son James suffered 'serious health scare' while shooting new film

Kirsten Dunst's next turn on the big screen may earn big laughs, but there was some harrowing drama off-screen. The Oscar-nominated actress, who shares two children with husband and fellow actor Jesse Plemons, revealed that her son James suffered a medical emergency while shooting her upcoming film, "The Entertainment System Is Down." The dark comedy, written and directed by Ruben Östlund, was shot in Budapest and stars Dunst, 43, alongside Keanu Reeves and Tobias Menzies. In an Aug. 20 interview with Town & Country Magazine, Dunst shared that the medical ordeal took place while Plemons, 37, and their children were staying with her in the Hungarian capital. Although Dunst and Plemons had rented a home, with plans of remaining for the film's production, things changed course when James, 4, had a "serious health scare." While the actress didn't go into details on James' medical ordeal, Dunst confirmed that "everyone is fine now." After the incident, Plemons took James and their other son, 7-year-old Ennis, back to Los Angeles while Dunst remained in Budapest. Kirsten Dunst gets nostalgic: 'Bring It On' star recites cheer in surprise appearance at movie screening Dunst, who returned home in April for a brief visit, said she experienced some parental anxiety after the health scare, likening her fear to the horror film "'Final Destination,' where you're imagining all the things that could go wrong, worst-case scenarios happening to your child." "I have never seen that movie, but I know the concept," Dunst added. "That's how it feels to be a mother at times." Dunst and Plemons welcomed their first child, son Ennis, in May 2018, followed by James in May 2021. The couple married in July 2022. The actress added that she and Plemons will soon be heading to The Bahamas for a family vacation. Why the tropical getaway? Dunst said James' request was simple: "I want to go to a beach where my sandcastle won't wash away."
