JOEL DOMMETT will celebrate the National Television Awards' 30th birthday with a riotous party – which he hopes is far better than his own milestone bash.
Returning as host of the annual ceremony for the fifth time, Joel, 39, has revealed big plans to mark the anniversary.

He told The Sun: 'It's early days, so we are very much in the 'ideas' phase.
"But I really wanna do something really great for the start.
'Because it's the 30th year, we plan to celebrate not just the great telly that's happened this year, but also the stuff that's happened over the past 30 years.
'My own 30th was a disaster.
"I decided to do an emo-themed party because I liked nu-metal music when I was a kid and I invited some people over to my house in Peckham.
'Because I was just a stand-up comedian at the time, I did it on a Sunday because all my friends were comedians and we all worked on Saturday and Friday.
'But I didn't really think about the fact that all of my neighbours work the next day… so we just had loads of complaints and I shut it down really early and then we just had some tea.'
At least Joel is guaranteed a good time this September 10, when he presides over the ceremony at London's O2.
He said: 'I say this every year, but I feel like TV is better than it's ever been. It feels really exciting, feels really competitive.
'There's a lot of really big shows and a lot of them are British.
Joel Dommett takes swipe at Bradley Walsh's son and Stephen Mulhern in hilarious opening number
"The Traitors has made such a huge impact, and shows like Rivals and Adolescence.'
Last week's TV Bafta awards overlooked some viewers' favourites such as Gavin & Stacey and The Traitors.
Joel added: 'There's certainly a place for the things like the Baftas, that are nominated for by panels, but I think it's great the NTAs are there as a public-based forum.
'You can't really argue because it's voted for by the people.'
Joel is up for TV Presenter for his work on The Masked Singer, but doesn't hold out much hope.
He said with a laugh: 'There's no point in me getting competitive because I'm never going make the shortlist.
"Ant and Dec always win.
'But how amazing is it that we've got two guys who have been on telly that long and who are still delivering incredible television?
'I can't see their reign ending anytime soon.'

Greggs mania as legions of JAPANESE fans desperate to visit UK to try firm's £1.30 sausage roll

Bemused Japanese journalists even interviewed families scoffing sausage rolls outside a branch in London LAND OF THE RISING CRUMB Greggs mania as legions of JAPANESE fans desperate to visit UK to try firm's £1.30 sausage roll Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) GREGGS has won a legion of followers in Japan after Madame Tussauds displayed a waxwork version of the bakery chain's sausage roll. Japanese expat influencers have been trying the British pastry favourite and waxing lyrical about it on TikTok. In one video, a Japanese TikTok influencer living in the UK tells her 10,000 followers she eats Greggs twice a day and says: 'If you plan to go to England, please try this.' Another said: 'Pretty sure it's a legal requirement in the UK to eat at least one Greggs.' The Newcastle-based chain became so well-known online that Japanese news channels have run TV reports explaining what it is. On one item on the popular Nippon TV network, a reporter tells viewers: 'Madame Tussauds, the wax museum that is one of London's popular tourist attractions, features numerous wax figures of British royal family members and world-famous celebrities. 'This time, the new exhibit is not a human, but a sausage roll — a popular snack in the UK. 'June 5 is designated as National Sausage Roll Day in the UK, and Madame Tussauds has created a wax replica of a sausage roll made to look just like the one sold by Greggs, a British chain. 'Greggs' sausage rolls are a beloved snack in the UK, with around one million sold each day. "The wax figure production team spent several months completing the piece, going through trial and error to recreate the flaky pastry layers and crisp texture of the sausage roll.' Greggs taste test Bemused Japanese journalists even interviewed families scoffing sausage rolls outside a branch in London, and asked why they liked them so much. One man, identified by the channel only as 'person eating', told viewers: 'The crust is crunchy, crispy and soft. The seasoning is really good.' Greggs was asked to comment on its new-found fame in the Far East. But after the waxwork was unveiled at Madame Tussauds in central London last week, Greggs CEO Roisin Currie, said: 'Seeing our sausage roll receive the celebrity treatment is a proud and slightly surreal moment for all of us.'

England football ace Millie Bright leaves fiancé & falls for married personal trainer ‘in a big way'

'The fall-out has been enormous, but Millie has fallen hook, line and sinker for her ideal man', claims an insider Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) ENGLAND football ace Millie Bright has left her fiancé and fallen for a married personal trainer. The Lionesses defender, 31, pulled out of Euro 2025 this week — stating she was unable to 'give 100 per cent mentally or physically'. It is understood he has now left his wife and is living at Chelsea captain Millie's luxury house. There is no suggestion either of them cheated on their partners. Pals said Millie — who won Euro 2022 and led England to the World Cup final in 2023 — met the trainer last year after starting to work out at a gym in Redhill, Surrey. Sources say she later struck up a friendship with the married dad, who we are not identifying. Earlier this year she split from Levi, and the trainer broke up with his wife 'out of the blue'. A source told The Sun: 'Millie's shock withdrawal from the England squad ahead of Euro 2025 left fans open-mouthed. 'She has always loved playing for her country, and spoke of her pride in doing so.' They went on: 'She has fallen for this guy in a big way, and that has come with some big sacrifices. "The fall-out has been enormous, but Millie has fallen hook, line and sinker for her ideal man.' England Lionesses announce squad for Euro 2025 after THREE withdrawals Other sources close to Millie stressed her withdrawal was based purely on her need for an operation to fix a long-term injury. Millie and Levi shared a home in Surrey and their families were close. In December 2023, she announced their engagement on social media, flashing her diamond ring on holiday in Mauritius. She has referred to Levi as her 'king' who was with her 'through thick and thin'. She even has a tattoo of his eye on her arm which has been shown prominently in official squad photos. But fans noticed she had removed any mention of him from her social media accounts and deleted the engagement post. Millie has undergone minor knee surgery after a stellar season with Chelsea, winning the treble and finishing unbeaten domestically. She said pulling out of the upcoming Euros in Switzerland 'was not an easy decision', adding: 'I just don't feel 100 per cent mentally or physically in a position to go on and compete in a tournament.' She aimed to 'get myself back in tip-top condition and just happy again, I think, all round, just feeling like myself'. England's first game is against much-fancied France on July 5. Last night a spokesman for Millie declined to comment.
