WWE's 'The Miz' suggests Chiefs star for American Gladiators, talks Browns fandom
WWE's 'The Miz' suggests Chiefs star for American Gladiators, talks Browns fandom This week, Chiefs Wire's Ed Easton Jr. spoke to Mike 'The Miz' Mizanin about his participation in this year's American Century Championship, which will take place July 9-13 at Edgewood Tahoe, his earliest memory of the Cleveland Browns fandom, and hosting the upcoming American Gladiators reboot while name dropping Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce as an ideal Gladiator. The Kelce brothers are confirmed to be Miz's competition again this year, as he will seek a better finish than last year's tournament. Miz is an Ohio native and a die-hard Browns fan, having witnessed the franchise's ups and downs. Cleveland's last divisional round postseason appearance was against Kansas City in 2020, when they lost at Arrowhead Stadium 17-22. He recalled his earliest memory of the team as a child attending school, singing about their quarterback, Bernie Kosar. "I believe I was in, like, fifth grade, and I was going to school in the bus, and we were just singing, Bernie, Bernie, oh baby Super Bowl," said Miz, "So, yeah, I remember that verbatim, and I also remember us not making it to the Super Bowl. I believe that year was either the fumble or the drive. I'm not sure which one, but those are the two things that really screwed us." The former WWE champion was recently named host of the upcoming reboot of American Gladiators on Prime Video. "I can't wait. I think, with this show, we're gonna, you know, give a nod to what, what American Gladiators was in the past, and elevate it and put it, you know, with 100% and go literally, ball to the wall, if you will." said Miz, "I mean, American Gladiators is a staple, and now to be the host of American Gladiators. It's an absolute honor, and I take it very, very seriously. I want to make sure that this show is everything people imagine it to be and more, and it will be. I can't wait for people to meet the Gladiators. I can't wait for people to see the events, and I can't wait for people to see me as the host." During a recent appearance on NFL Network's Good Morning Football, Miz suggested that Chiefs star Travis Kelce would make a great addition to the show as a Gladiator. "I'm gonna go with two tight ends. I'm gonna go, George Kittle, I'm gonna go with Travis Kelce, because of personality," said Miz during the broadcast, "A Gladiator has to have a great personality, and got to be out there, not only do that be physically dominating but they got to be someone, either you're root for, or you're gonna boo kind of like a WWE superstar." The annual tournament awards $750,000 in prize money, much of which the celebrity players donate to local and national charities. Over the years, nearly $8 million has been donated to non-profit causes. Network television exposure on NBC, along with a first-place prize of $150,000, makes the celebrity tournament one of the most prestigious in the golf world.

The shady way Adrian from MAFS Australia responded to ex Awhina's relationship with Billy
Married At First Sight Australia might be over, but drama from the most recent season still lingers. For those who followed series nine, you'll remember Adrian Araouzo and Awhina Rutene were initially paired together, as were Billy Belcher and Sierah Swepstone. However, you'll also know that neither relationship lasted, and both couples went their separate ways. (Billy felt betrayed when Sierah attended an evening meal with Adrian and fellow MAFS contestant Tony Mojanovski behind his back, while Awhina and Adrian had a commitment ceremony, but broke up before their Final Vows.) And to ramp up the drama even more, MAFS sleuths will be aware of the dating rumours between Awhina and Billy that have been flying around for months. While we can now report that the pair are official, after claiming they were "just friends" the entire time, Adrian has since entered the chat with a shady response to the relationship. Speaking to Yahoo Lifestyle, he said he had "no clue" what Billy and Awhina are doing. But if their relationship is serious, "good luck to them." Adrian then said he "hopes it's legit," because otherwise it would be "a bit embarrassing to act like a couple just for likes and attention." He continued: "I don't understand all these games certain couples are playing. If you're with someone and happy, put it out to the world [and] be proud you guys are together. Otherwise, keep it private until it's official." He then followed up by wishing them both "nothing but happiness and a healthy, successful relationship." As it stands, Awhina and Billy look super loved up. And from their joint Instagram official post, they seem to be in it for the long haul. On Friday, they shared a carousel of some recent moments, from a sweet mirror selfie to a romantic date night. The pair captioned the post: "I'll keep this one 🤭." Err, cute.

Watch now! Twisted thriller branded "quirky and bingeable" gets new UK streaming home
The Consultant, the "quirky and bingeable" thriller starring Christoph Waltz, has found a new streaming home in the UK. The series, originally released on Prime Video in 2023, sees the two-time Academy Award winner play Regus Patoff, a "mysterious" consultant who takes charge of a mobile gaming company following an "unspeakable" tragedy. Based on Bentley Little's 2015 novel of the same name, The Consultant has now found a new streaming home in addition to Prime Video, with all eight episodes of the series being added to ITVX in the UK this weekend. Billed as a "twisted comedic-thriller", The Consultant explores the "sinister relationship between boss and employee," the latter of whom begin to fear for their lives after Regus imposes "new demands and challenges" on the company. Co-starring Aimee Carrero and Brittany O'Grady, the series received generally positive reviews from critics upon its release, with the thriller currently possessing an approval rating of 80% on Rotten Tomatoes from 44 reviews. Related: Despite noting its "lack of depth", the site's critical consensus said that the "diverting twists" and "slick presentation", in tandem with Waltz's "menacing charm", helped to "compensate" for its shortcomings. The Australian described the series as "quirky and bingeable" as they lauded the performances of Waltz and O'Grady, while The Wrap dubbed it a "solid addition to the horror genre" and an "interesting take on corporate culture". Related: "The Consultant is as fast-paced as it is darkly comic, mixing corporate satire and moral dilemmas," wrote TV Guide as they called it simultaneously "clever and ridiculous", while USA Today said the series was "macabre, twisty and just a little bit twisted". "This bonkers comedy-thriller burnishes the familiar deal-with-the-devil conceit with chipper, unapologetic cynicism," wrote Entertainment Weekly as they praised the "appealing" performances, while Variety described the show as an "engaging watch".
