FM urges finding political pathway leading to implementation of two-state solution
He made the remarks during a meeting in Washington with Senator Ted Cruz.
The meeting tackled the Egypt-US relations and ways to strengthen the existing strategic partnership, including bolstering cooperation in security and counterterrorism, as well as consultations on several regional issues of common interest.
Regarding the developments in Gaza, Minister Abdelatty reviewed Egypt's ongoing efforts to broker a Palestinian-Israeli agreement on ceasing fire and exchanging hostages and prisoners, in coordination with Qatar and the US.
He stressed the necessity for the continued acceleration of humanitarian aid flow into the enclave to alleviate the suffering of Palestinian civilians.
The talks also touched on recent developments in regional hotspots, including Sudan, Yemen, Syria, and Lebanon.
Abdelatty highlighted the importance of ensuring security of navigation in the Red Sea which is a vital strategic artery for global trade.
On the Egyptian water security file, he reiterated Egypt's position insisting on adherence to international law regarding shared water resources.
He underlined the need for cooperation based on consensus and mutual benefit to serve the interests of all Nile Basin countries.
He stressed rejection of unilateral actions that violate international law.
He confirmed that Egypt will take all possible measures under international law to protect its water security.
The minister reaffirmed Egypt's firm stand calling for de-escalation in the Middle East, rejecting military solutions to conflicts.
Abdelatty stressed the importance of pursuing diplomatic channels concerning the Iranian nuclear program to promote regional and international security and stability. (MENA)

TikTok has been given a three-month deadline to adjust its content to align with Egyptian social and moral standards, according to MP Ahmed Badawi, a member of the House of Representatives' Telecommunications Committee. Speaking in a phone interview on Alaamat Istifham on Al-Shams TV, Badawi said the deadline was set following a high-level meeting last month between the CEO of TikTok Egypt and North Africa, the head of the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA), and members of the parliamentary committee. In the past 72 hours, at least six prominent TikTok creators—including five women—have been arrested following legal complaints filed by private lawyers. The complaints name around 40 TikTok users, accusing them of charges ranging from spreading false information and violating public decency laws to undermining social norms. The controversy escalated after a viral video surfaced of a TikToker claiming to be the secret daughter of the late President Hosni Mubarak and a former pop singer. She alleged the existence of a human organ trafficking network operating in Egypt, implicating several social media personalities and actors. One of the actresses named in the video filed a formal complaint, leading to the TikToker's arrest on charges of spreading false news and defamation. According to data published by Statista in early 2024, TikTok has an estimated 32.9 million adult users in Egypt—roughly 47 percent of the country's population aged 18 and over. Germany warns 'very insufficient' aid entering Gaza under Israel blockade - War on Gaza
The amount of humanitarian aid entering Gaza remains 'very insufficient' despite some limited improvement, the German government said Saturday, following discussions among ministers on increasing pressure on Israel over its blockade of the territory. The criticism came after Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul visited the region Thursday and Friday, and as the German military carried out its first food airdrops into Gaza. Aid groups warn that Israel's blockade has driven more than two million Palestinians into a manmade famine. Germany 'notes limited initial progress in the delivery of humanitarian aid to the population of the Gaza Strip, which, however, remains very insufficient to alleviate the emergency situation,' government spokesman Stefan Kornelius said in a statement. 'Israel remains obligated to ensure the full delivery of aid,' Kornelius added. Concerns over famine in Gaza have escalated sharply in recent days as Israel's over 21-month war and five-month blockade continue to choke off access to food, clean water, and medical supplies. While Israel and its allies claim progress, international aid agencies say conditions remain catastrophic. They warn that aid deliveries are still dangerously low and have called on Israel to grant immediate, unrestricted humanitarian access to the besieged territory. The World Food Programme (WFP) has said it has 300 aid trucks ready for distribution inside Gaza. UNRWA, the U.N. agency for Palestinian refugees, said it has approximately 6,000 trucks waiting in Jordan and Egypt for approval to enter. 'Allow the U.N., including UNRWA & our partners to operate at scale & without bureaucratic or political hurdles,' Philippe Lazzarini, UNRWA's commissioner-general, wrote on X. Lazzarini criticized Israel for allowing foreign countries to airdrop aid, calling it a 'distraction & screensmoke.' A similar effort in March 2024 was widely criticized by humanitarian groups as insufficient to meet basic needs. According to health authorities in Gaza, the death toll from Israel's mass starvation policy has reached 160, including 90 children. A new alert from the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) system released this week warned: 'Famine thresholds have been reached for food consumption in most of the Gaza Strip and for acute malnutrition in Gaza City.' It added, 'The worst-case scenario of famine is currently playing out in the Gaza Strip.' A German government source confirmed to AFP that the country's security cabinet met Saturday to discuss 'the different options' for increasing pressure on Israel. However, no decision was made. One option under consideration is a partial suspension of arms deliveries to Israel. So far, only Slovenia has taken that step, announcing Thursday a ban on all weapons trade with Tel Aviv. According to Gaza's Health Ministry, the death toll from Israel's war since October 7, 2023, has risen to 60,332, with 147,643 injured.
