EXCLUSIVE Tom Brady thinks Sofia Vergara is 'too OLD': Friends tell all the mortifying details as 'summer romance' collapses... and reveal the behavior he can't handle

Daily Mail11-07-2025
Tom Brady and Sofia Vergara set tongues wagging last week after it was reported they are enjoying a 'summer romance'.
The pair were first spotted getting cozy on Ritz-Carlton's superyacht 'Luminara' off the Italian coast after Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez 's wedding.
The NFL legend was said to have specifically requested to sit next to the actress at dinner during an exclusive two-day voyage - and the pair have since been seen spending time together in Ibiza.
But the Daily Mail can now reveal that any romance was short-lived. The pair are not officially dating - and Brady, 47, has made it clear that he is keen to stay single.
What's more, in a brutal blow to Vergara, 52, it is said that the quarterback can only take her in 'small doses'.
A source tells us: 'Tom loves being single and is enjoying his summer before he starts working again and he is not looking for a relationship. He is always weighing his options when it comes to dating anyone. "Options" being the operative word.
'He's not looking to be settled down right now. He wants to just have fun. Flings and hookups are cool, but if anyone thinks they can have more with him right now, good luck!'
Brady remains in phenomenal shape three years on from his NFL retirement, and he is soon to be heading into the second year of his lucrative 10-year, $375million analyst contract with Fox.
None of which is to say, however, that he and Vergara haven't been enjoying each other's company on the party island of Ibiza.
On Vergara, our Brady source says: 'He sees Sofia as beautiful and his type, but he isn't going to start a relationship with her as she is older and stuck in her ways. He knows he could only take her in small doses.
'Sofia's Colombian heritage is sexy, and hanging out with her and other sexy people on a yacht can be intoxicating, but Tom is not going to bring his work home with him if you catch my drift.
'If Sofia has any thought that she is going to be in a relationship with Tom, she would be the only one with that thought... nobody should start thinking of celebrity relationship names for them because it is not something that is going to happen.'
The Daily Mail has reached out to Brady and Vergara's representatives for comment.
Brady has been divorced from his ex-wife Gisele Bundchen since October 2022, when their 13 years of marriage came to an end. They share three children.
Since their split, Brady has been linked with multiple high-profile women, including models Irina Shayk and Brooks Nader, and actress Sydney Sweeney.
Vergara, meanwhile, is also newly single following her divorce from Joe Manganiello in 2024. Manganiello was her second husband, after her 1993 divorce from Joe Gonzalez - with whom she shares a son.
She was recently linked to 40-year-old F1 star Lewis Hamilton.
Rumors of a potential romance between the Vergara and Brady first surfaced last week, when they enjoyed a star-studded trip of the Luminara superyacht and were joined by the likes of models Naomi Campbell and Kendall Jenner.
Setting sail from Rome, the two-night luxury cruise included lavish dinners and performances from Ellie Goulding, Sting, and Janelle Monáe.
Brady also recently sparked romance rumors with Sydney Sweeney, 27, with reports claiming the pair danced together during Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez's wedding festivities in Venice; Both pictured arriving to the ceremony on June 27
Vergara even shared a photo of her and Brady seated together at a dinner on board. She stunned in a plunging gown, while Tom flashed a big smile and looked handsome in an all-black outfit.
Vergara has been keeping her fans updated this summer, sharing a stream of bikini posts to her Instagram.
On Wednesday, she showed off her enviable bottom in a new image shared to her Insta Stories. She was modeling a multi-colored one-piece swimsuit.
Last month, she gave an insight into what she's looking for in her next relationship, saying she wants her next boyfriend to be as rich as she is. The Modern Family actress is worth a reported $180 million.
'I want somebody that has as much money as me or more, because if not, it's a nightmare. They end up resenting you,' she said.

How to make spaghetti alle vongole

Food writer Anastasia Miari has collected recipes from grandmothers across the Med for new her cookbook Mediterranea, here she shares Nonna Luisa's recipe for clam pasta. 'Nonna Luisa is a proud Napoletana. She lives at the very heart of the city on the coastal road and waxes lyrical about the tomatoes she has sourced for the spaghetti alle vongole dish she's cooking with me today. 'This is from Vesuvius, I don't just use any old tomato,' she says, frowning, when I ask her if I might use Pomodorini in place of the pointy-ended tomatoes she adds to her vongole. When we are ready to add the clams to the dish, I realise that they're still alive in their shells,' says food writer and journalist Anastasia Miari, author of new cookbook, Mediterranea. Advertisement View this post on Instagram A post shared by Anastasia Miari (@anastasia_miari) 'One pokes its tiny little sucker out of the shell for a second before noticing us and Nonna Lusia starts jiggling it around on the plate, trying – and failing – to get it to come out again. This is how fresh the seafood is in Naples. You buy your clams in the morning at the market and in the afternoon, they're still alive and wistfully searching for the sea. 'Spaghetti alle vongole is my favourite of all the pasta dishes this planet has to offer. It is a great privilege to be able to make this dish using Nonna Luisa's recipe because, despite having tried and tested many versions along the Italian coastline, this surely is the best one I've ever had. I adore the added pinch of peperoncino, a little spice that reflects Nonna Luisa's passionate persona. It takes very little time to make and is an impressive one to serve up for dinner once you master it.' Spaghetti alle vongole Ingredients: (Serves 4) 400g cherry tomatoes 1 heaped tbsp sea salt, plus extra to taste 350g spaghetti 60ml olive oil 4 garlic cloves, halved and germs removed 1/2 bunch of parsley, stems and leaves separated, and leaves finely chopped 2 small dried chillies 850g vongole clams, washed Advertisement Spaghetti alle vongole (Marco Argüello/PA) Method: 1. First, make a one centimetre deep incision in the shape of a cross in the top of each tomato, then set aside. 2. Bring a large saucepan of water to the boil for the pasta. Once at a rolling boil, add the salt, then the spaghetti. Make a note of the cooking time on the packet and set a timer for two minutes before the end of the suggested cooking – it will finish cooking in the pan with the clams. 3. Meanwhile, heat the oil in a deep frying pan over a low heat and fry the garlic, parsley stems and chillies for five minutes, then remove the garlic, parsley and chilli from the pan using a slotted spoon and discard them. Add the tomatoes to the pan, increasing the heat to medium and cover. Allow the tomatoes to steam in their own juices for about four minutes, then add the clams, cover again and cook for a minute or so. Add a scant ladle of pasta cooking water to the pan and continue to cook until the clams have opened – discard any that don't. Use a slotted spoon to remove some of the clams and set aside. 4. Drain the pasta, then quickly add it to the pan, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens. Divide between plates and add the reserved clams, plus a sprinkling of parsley leaves. Eat immediately.
