Carín León Nabs Fourth No. 1 on Latin Airplay Chart With ‘Ahí Estabas Tú'
'Ahí Estabas Tú' claims the top spot on the overall Latin Airplay chart with 8.2 million audience impressions earned in the U.S. during the May 9-15 tracking week, according to Luminate –that's a 21% gain from the previous week. The Greatest Gainer-awarded track of the week trades places with Gerardo Coronel 'El Jerry''s 'No Se Dice,' after the latter drops 1-3 with a 5% dip in impressions (to 8.23 million).

'Ahí Estabas Tú' marks León's second champ of 2025. Previously the Hermosillo, Sonora-born singer-songwriter took command of Latin Airplay for one week through 'El Amor de Mi Herida' (March 22-dated list).
With a second ruler in 2025, León is only the second soloist to have two No. 1s on Latin Airplay this year unaccompanied by another act. Earlier in 2025, Bad Bunny topped the chart twice with his solo tracks 'El Clúb' and 'Baile Inolvidable,' each reigning for two weeks in February and March, respectively.
In total, four artists have secured two No. 1 hits in 2025 so far. Between Benito's two chart-toppers, Myke Towers claimed the No. 1 spot with 'Otra Noche' featuring Darell, for one week in February. He followed up with another No. 1 hit, 'Degenere,' which features benny blanco, leading for one week on the May 3 chart. Meanwhile, Colombian Kapo placed back-to-back champs as 'Más Que Tú,' with Ozuna, ceded its place to 'Imagínate,' with Danny Ocean, on the April 26 list, both one-week rulers.
Beyond his Latin Airplay coronation, León also takes 'Ahí Estabas Tú' to the summit on Regional Mexican Airplay, where it jumps 2-1, his eighth No. 1 overall. He ties Eden Muñoz for the fourth-most rulers among soloists in the 2020s decade. They trail Christian Nodal who leads with 17 No. 1 this decade, Gerardo Ortiz follows with 13, and Alejandro Fernández with 12 leaders.

Ice Cube's ‘War of the Worlds' Film Has a 0% Rating on ‘Rotten Tomatoes' & Cube's Son Is Weighing In
Ice Cube's latest movie is off to a slow start on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes. According to 15 critics (and counting), War of the Worlds so far has a zero percent rating on the Tomatometer scale, while thousands of moviegoers have given it at 14 percent rating on the Popcornmeter. One review in particular, from Variety's Peter Debruge knocked the film for essentially doubling as a commercial for Amazon, writing, 'Even with a Prime subscription, you have to sit through two minutes of ads to watch 90 more of what amounts to a feature-length commercial for all things Amazon,' while another from The Telegraph's Ed Power wasn't really into all the screen time Cube got, saying, 'It is silly, shoddy and features far too much of rapper-turned-leading man Ice Cube staring at a computer screen while looking as if he's working through a reasonably urgent digestive ailment.' G. Wells' classic 1898 novel The War of the Worlds, this version is an Amazon Prime production directed by Rich Lee and also starring Eva Longoria. Cube plays Will Radford, a surveillance expert at the Department of Homeland Security, and most of the movie takes place on his computer screen as he deals with a hacker and an alien invasion while trying to keep his family out of harm's way. The synopsis on Prime Video reads as follows: 'A gargantuan invasion is coming with this fresh take on the legendary novel of the same name. Renowned actress Eva Longoria is joined by iconic rapper and actor Ice Cube, along with Michael O'Neill and Iman Benson, for a thrilling out-of-this-world adventure that is filled with present-day themes of technology, surveillance, and privacy.' Cube's son, actor O'Shea Jackson Jr., replied to a tweet on X of a video clip from the movie in which an Amazon Prime delivery person tells Cube's character to cop a USB from Amazon, so he can deliver it via Prime Air with a drone. 'I truly can't believe this adaptation of War Of The Worlds is actually a real film with a real budget and Ice Cube is actually in it,' a fan posted, with Jackson replying that the movie was 'Shot during the pandemic. MGK Says His Haters Are Just ‘Conformists' Who Pretend to Dislike Him to ‘Fit In'
MGK pays no mind to the people who would gladly purchase tickets to his downfall, as the musician born Colson Baker — and formerly known as Machine Gun Kelly — has revealed that he thinks his haters are merely 'conformists' who can't think for themselves. In an interview with People published Wednesday (Aug. 6) ahead of his new album Lost Americana, MGK opened up about why he isn't bothered by his critics. 'The hate for me has become so pop culture that it's almost like that's automatically what you say to fit in,' he told the publication. To promote the record, the Cleveland-bred musician enlisted one of Americana's biggest heroes, Bob Dylan, to narrate a trailer that dropped in June. At the time, it was unclear whether it was actually Dylan's voice in MGK's video — but on a recent late-night appearance, the latter confirmed that it was authentic. 'To be honest, I have no idea how he even knows who I am to this day,' MGK said on The Tonight Show on Monday (Aug. 4). 'Something's going on in the stars where, like, good things keep happening … I don't know how it keeps happening.' MGK's experimentation with various genres over the course of his career is one of several reasons why he thinks certain people hate him without actual cause. But as he said to People, he just doesn't care: 'I became so hated for, what has become apparent to me, no reason … just because I artistically express myself, through fashion, music, whatever.' He added, 'I choose to not stay contained into a societal box.' A$AP Rocky's adding to his acting lore, as he's set to star alongside Rose Byrne in A24's If I Had Legs I'd Kick You movie. The Mary Bronstein-directed dramedy released a trailer on Wednesday (Aug. 6), which finds Byrne playing a mother, who works as a psychotherapist, in the midst of crashing out. Conan O'Brien, Christian Slater and Danielle Macdonald are among those filling out the cast. 'With her life literally crashing down around her, Linda attempts to navigate her child's mysterious illness, her absent husband, a missing person and an increasingly hostile relationship with her therapist,' reads a logline for the film.
