Audi Saudi Arabia has welcomed the new Audi A5 and S5 models to the region.
Embodying sophisticated design, exhilarating performance, and cutting-edge technology, the Audi A5 lineup represents a bold evolution from the iconic A4 nameplate, which has been a pillar of Audi's lineup since 1994.
By introducing the A5, Audi builds upon the legacy of the A4 while showcasing a renewed focus on innovation and performance. The model retains the beloved fastback configuration, combining practicality with the compact luxury and sportiness that Middle Eastern drivers have come to expect.
Galal El Shimy – Audi Saudi Arabia Acting Brand Manager said: 'With the launch of the new A5 and S5, we are elevating the standards of performance and luxury to a new level, offering a comprehensive driving experience that blends bold design, advanced technology, and exceptional driving dynamics, all while meeting the aspirations of luxury car enthusiasts in the Kingdom.'
Performance that thrills
The new Audi A5 range offers potent yet efficient TFSI powertrains. The A5 Sedan 35 TFSI delivers 150 hp and 280 Nm of torque, reaching 100 km/h in 9.8 seconds with a top speed of 216 km/h. For those seeking a sportier edge, the A5 Sedan 40 TFSI produces 204 hp and 340 Nm of torque, allowing a 7.8-second sprint to 100 km/h and a top speed of 248 km/h. Both models come with front-wheel drive and a smooth 7-speed S tronic transmission, striking the perfect balance between energetic performance and daily usability.
Driving enthusiasts will find the S5 Sedan especially compelling, courtesy of its 3.0L V6 TFSI engine generating 367 hp and 550 Nm of torque, enabling a 0–100 km/h time of just 4.5 seconds. Alongside permanent quattro all-wheel drive, the S5 features torque vectoring and adaptive damping sports suspension for exceptional handling dynamics, ensuring drivers can confidently tackle both urban environments and open highways.
A striking exterior design
Embodied in a sleek, athletic silhouette measuring 4.8 m in length, 2.0 m in width, and 1.4 m in height, the Audi A5's exterior captures attention from every angle. The signature Single frame grille is complemented by sculpted lines that enhance aerodynamic efficiency, while Matrix LED headlights offer selectable light signatures for optimized visibility. At the rear, optional OLED taillights underscore Audi's commitment to innovative lighting technology.
Thanks to a 2.8-m wheelbase, the A5 also boasts well-balanced proportions, giving it a poised stance on the road. Whether cruising city streets or speeding along desert highways, the design exudes both elegance and practicality – qualities that have long defined Audi's aesthetic.
A driver-focused interior
Inside, the A5 showcases Audi's newest interior language, anchored by a large curved digital display housing three key screens. Drivers benefit from an 11.5-inch Audi Virtual Cockpit, while a 14.5-inch MMI touch display offers intuitive access to infotainment and vehicle settings. Front-seat passengers enjoy an additional 10.9-inch screen with dynamic privacy mode, helping to minimize distractions for the driver.
High-quality materials ensure premium comfort, while ample legroom and headroom make longer journeys especially enjoyable. The 445-litre trunk (expandable to 1,299 litres with the rear seats folded) provides versatile cargo space. For audiophiles, a Bang & Olufsen 3D Sound System– standard in the S5– adds immersive audio, amplified by the optional speakers integrated into the seat headrests.

The All-New Audi A5: Test-Driving a New Benchmark in Bahrain

Bahrain's roads offer a unique kind of testing ground. From the sharp turns of city streets to the long, open stretches cutting through desert and coastline, they demand versatility from any car worth its salt. Enter the all-new Audi A5—an executive sedan that doesn't just show up, but shows what's next for the brand. Replacing the long-standing A4, the A5 signals a bold new direction for Audi. It's sharper in design, smarter in technology, and engineered for a driving experience that feels thoroughly modern. Whether navigating roundabouts in the capital or gliding down the highway towards the causeway, the A5 brings confidence, clarity, and a touch of understatement to every drive. One of the first things you'll notice is the exterior design. The proportions are sleeker, the edges more defined, and everything feels more aerodynamic and deliberate. Even the Audi badge has been flattened—literally. A subtle change, perhaps, but one that symbolises the brand's evolution towards minimalism and precision. The new front and rear LED lighting systems (yes, fully electric and adaptive) are more than just aesthetic upgrades. They're functional, striking, and part of Audi's ongoing mission to turn lighting into art. The taillights, especially the optional OLED versions, give the car a distinctive signature that stands out whether you're parked in the Seef district or gliding down the highway at dusk. Step inside, and you're greeted by a digital command centre that doesn't overwhelm. The massive curved display incorporates three key screens: a 14.5-inch MMI infotainment system, an 11.5-inch digital driver display, and a passenger-side 10.9-inch screen with a privacy mode to keep distractions to a minimum. The system is intuitive, fast, and actually pleasant to use—something that can't be said for every touchscreen-heavy car in this class. It's the little things that make the biggest impression. Audi hasn't just gone digital—they've gone practical. Boot space is vast for this class, offering 445 litres of storage with the seats up and over 1,200 litres with them down. For weekend escapes or a family grocery run, it's more than enough. Now for the fun bit. Driving the A5 in Bahrain is a reminder that good engineering doesn't have to scream for attention. The 40 TFSI variant, with 204 hp and 340 Nm of torque, has enough punch to make merging onto the highway a thrill, without turning every drive into a performance test. It's refined, confident, and predictably smooth—ideal for navigating through the tight corners of Manama or cruising along the open causeway. Its 3.0L V6, producing 367 hp, launches the car from 0–100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds. It's fast—no question—but it's also composed, thanks to quattro all-wheel drive and adaptive suspension. On the sweeping bends near Bahrain International Circuit, it felt at home. Controlled, planted, and ready to play. This isn't just a facelift. The all-new Audi A5 sets the benchmark for what future Audis will look and feel like. It's premium, yes—but not in a showy way. It's smart, elegant, and very aware of what modern drivers value: technology that works, performance that excites without draining fuel tanks, and design that feels as good to live with as it does to show off. Whether you're tackling rush hour in Juffair or heading out on a scenic drive along the coast, the A5 makes every trip feel like a proper drive. As for Charlie's verdict after a full Audi Day Out? This one's not just good—it's the beginning of something great.

Audi Q9 SUV Set for 2026 Debut

TDT | Agencies Email : Audi is nearing the final stages of development for its flagship Q9 SUV, which is set to compete with premium models like the BMW X7, Mercedes-Benz GLS, and Range Rover. Expected to be the largest and most luxurious Audi SUV to date, the Q9 will feature a three-row, seven-seat layout similar to the Q7, with a potential six-seat configuration similar to the Bentley Bentayga. Built on an extended version of Volkswagen Group's Premium Platform Combustion (PPC), the Q9 will support longitudinally mounted powertrains, ranging from a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine to a powerful V8. A performance-focused SQ9 variant with a V8 engine and a plug-in hybrid option is also anticipated. Audi first teased the Q9 during the Q8 launch in 2018, with prototypes spotted testing since 2021. Despite being camouflaged, design elements visible on the prototypes resemble current Audi models, including slim LED daytime running lights, a honeycomb grille, and a rear light bar. Targeting markets such as the USA, China, and UAE, the Q9 may also reach the UK. The SUV is expected to debut in 2026, with a potential UK launch in 2027.
