Gary Neville abruptly tells Sky Sports presenter ‘let's ignore that' and ‘I don't want to go into it' live on MNF

GARY NEVILLE abruptly told Sky Sports presenter Dave Jones 'let's ignore that' before adding 'I don't want to go into it' while talking about a familiar face live on TV.
The incident occurred on Monday Night Football ahead of Leeds' 1-0 win over Everton.
Neville, Jones and Jamie Carragher gathered to discuss some of the opening weekend's action, including United's 1-0 defeat to Arsenal.
The Red Devils put in a good showing despite coming away from the clash with zero points.
It saw the Sky Sports trio engage in a lively debate about Ruben Amorim's progress.
Neville said: 'He had a horrible start to his United career, he didn't want the job partway through last season.'
Jones interjected: 'Do you think because of that, he gets this season, whatever happens?'
Neville continued: 'No, I don't think it will be that easy. I think if he's down in the bottom half of the table, he'll be under massive pressure.'
But talk then turned to Marcus Rashford, who was frozen out by Amorim and is now on loan at Barcelona after a spell with Aston Villa last term.
Jones said: 'What Marcus Rashford said the other day, Man United have to come up with a plan and stick with it some way, haven't they?'
Neville saw red over the mention of Rashford, however.
He waved a hand in Jones' direction before firing back: 'Let's ignore that because I don't want to go into Rashford's comments tonight.

'He was there at the club for 10 years, had his opportunity to impact the club.
'Ruben Amorim this year I think will do a good job. I think Marcus should concentrate on Barcelona.'
Fans were quick to react to the moment on social media, with emotions mixed.
One said: 'He's right, hope Rashy does well though.'
Another declared: 'Gary is right, let's forget about his comments, we don't need it.'
One noted: 'All well and good to speak about the club after you leave it.'
Another added: 'What has being at the club for 10 years got to do with what he said?'

Tottenham transfer news: Spurs and Palace yet to reach Eberechi Eze agreement

Spurs entered negotiations with their Premier League rivals last Monday over the potential addition of Eze, who has been a long-term target. New Tottenham boss Thomas Frank is in desperate need of creative reinforcements and even though Eze featured in Palace's 0-0 draw at Chelsea on Sunday, PA understands positive dialogue continues between both clubs with an expectation that a deal can be reached. Working. — Crystal Palace F.C. (@CPFC) August 17, 2025 Eze was recommended to Spurs during his time at QPR by old scout David Pleat, but subsequently signed for Palace in 2020 and has since developed into one of the best attacking midfielders in the Premier League. After Tottenham failed in their efforts to sign Nottingham Forest captain Morgan Gibbs-White last month, Frank turned his focus to Eze, especially after James Maddison suffered a serious knee injury to join Dejan Kulusevski on the sidelines. A release clause in the region of £68million in Eze's current deal at Palace expired on Friday and, despite further talks on Saturday, a day later the England international played 84 minutes in the club's league opener with Chelsea. Palace boss Oliver Glasner afterwards expressed his desire to play Eze in Thursday's Conference League qualifier with Frederikstad, but may not get his wish. While reports on Tuesday that an agreement between Spurs and Palace had been reached were slightly premature, negotiations appear to be heading towards a conclusion that would result in Eze moving across London. It would end Eze's five-year stay at Selhurst Park where the 27-year-old has scored 40 times across 169 appearances for Palace, including the winner in their 1-0 victory over Manchester City in the FA Cup final in May.
