Behbehani stars for Kuwait with gold and silver in Luxembourg

LUXEMBOURG, April 18 (KUNA): The Kuwait Gymnastics Federation announced Friday that national team gymnast Abdullah Behbehani captured gold and silver medals at the 2025 Luxembourg Open.
Behbehani secured the gold medal in the individual parallel bars event and added a silver in the vault (jumping table) competition, the Federation said in a statement.
Kuwait Gymnastics Federation Secretary General Abdul Latif Murad noted that Behbehani's participation in the tournament is part of a comprehensive training and preparation plan developed in coordination with the Kuwait Olympic Committee. The goal is to gear up for the upcoming international championships.
Murad explained that the year-long preparation program includes intensive training camps and participation in various global tournaments to enhance the athlete's skills across all apparatuses. He also commended Behbehani's performance and extended his appreciation to the Public Authority for Sports and the Kuwait Olympic Committee for their continued support.

AMMAN, July 19 (KUNA): The Kuwait Disabled Sports Club's wheelchair basketball team has been crowned champion of the West Asian Clubs Cup after a dominant 74–35 victory over Jordan's Ajyal Al-Ghad in the final held recently in Amman. Minister of Social Affairs and State Minister for Family and Childhood Affairs, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah, extended her congratulations to the team, hailing the triumph as a reflection of the strong will and determination of Kuwaiti athletes. She noted that the achievement enhances Kuwait's image in regional and international sporting arenas and showcases the nation's commitment to inclusion and excellence. Dr. Al-Huwailah expressed deep appreciation for the efforts of the players, coaching staff, and administrators, stating that such success would not have been possible without the steadfast support of the country's wise leadership and their continuous care for people with disabilities in all fields.
