Adair County: A Stuart man arrested at twice the legal limit
According to a Greenfield Police report, at approximately 8:25 p.m. Jan. 9, Chaney sent a request through the Facebook dating app to a female who is the protected party in a no contact order against him.
The victim did not confirm or deny the request from Chaney but did take a screenshot of the request which she provided to law enforcement.
Chaney was transported to the Adair County Jail and held without bond until his initial appearance.

Ronald E. Smith, 55, of Des Moines, was taken into custody 1 p.m. May 15, after turning himself in to the Adair County Sheriff's Office on a Polk County warrant for the charge of violation of parole.
According to a Department of Correctional Services report, Smith missed three scheduled parole appointments in April and self-reported marijuana use in January.
Smith was transported to the Adair County Jail and held without bond.

Wade D. Harris, 42, of Stuart was taken into custody 3:10 a.m. May 17, in the 200 block of Southwest Adair Street in Stuart on the charge of OWI, first offense.
According to a Stuart Police report, at approximately 1:24 a.m. a 2025 Chevrolet Silverado was stopped after being observed traveling 48 mph in a 35 mph zone on White Pole Road. The truck turned onto Adair Street and drove over the curb and onto the grass, knocking over a wooden post. The truck continued southbound and hit a curb again before being stopped.
Contact was made with the driver, identified as Harris, who had bloodshot, watery eyes, slurred speech and a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person. Harris admitted to drinking five to six beers approximately 30 minutes before being stopped.
Harris consented to field sobriety testing and a PBT, which indicated his BrAC to be above .08%. After being transported to the Adair County Jail, he consented to provide a breath specimen for chemical testing. The result showed Harris to have a BAC of .169%.
Harris was released from the Adair County Jail after posting $1,000 cash or surety bond.

NCAA confirms Connor Stalions disguised, scouted MSU-CMU game in 2023
It is now official, Connor Stalions dressed up as a Central Michigan staffer for a game against Michigan State in 2023. The long believed disguised Stalions on the Chippewas' sidelines during a game against Michigan State was confirmed by the NCAA on Friday. The NCAA revealed their findings and punishment for the Michigan "sign stealing" investigation on Friday, with the note on the Stalions-Chippewas piece being included in the report. According to a post from Chris Vannini of The Athletic, the NCAA confirmed Stalions did attend the Michigan State-Central Michigan game on the Chippewas' sideline. Stalions was there to "in part to decipher Michigan State's signals, but also to help a Central Michigan staff member with play calling." This game between the Spartans and Chippewas took place as the season-opener for the 2023 season. Michigan State beat Central Michigan in the contest by the final score of 31-7. It was always believed that Stalions was in disguise for that game when his picture circulated social media. But now, we have official confirmation of that foul play occurring. Michigan State football is next set to play Central Michigan in 2027. It'll be interesting to see if this investigation will at all change that agreement or if things will simply just go away with this chapter in a weird story now closed.
