Housefull 5 Box Office Collections: Rakes career best 4 million plus weekend overseas for Akshay Kumar
Housefull 5 amassed USD 4.25 million (Rs. 36.50 crore) approx during its opening weekend overseas, marking the biggest international debut ever for an Akshay Kumar led film. It surpassed his previous best of USD 3.60 million by Good Newwz.
The film benefited from Eid holidays, which boosted its business in the Middle East and possibly some in the United Kingdom. In the Middle East, the film raked in USD 1.80 million approx over the weekend, which is what made the most difference in the record numbers overall, bettering the previous best of USD 1.38 million by Housefull 3.
The standout performance came from New Zealand and there too, the Fiji Islands, where comedies generally excel and the Housefull franchise has a stellar record. The film grossed NZD 287K over the weekend, placing it among the top ten Bollywood openings of all time in the territory. Australia also lend good support with AUD 525K. The United Kingdom grossed GBP 315K, which is good, though GBP 400K plus would have been even better.
The noticeable underperformance came from North America, where both the United States and Canada could have done much better. The business here was around half of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, whereas in most other markets, Housefull 5 was on par or better. A similar performance in Americas, would have taken it over USD 5 million.
Looking ahead, the film is tracking towards a final overseas total of over USD 7.50 million. Ideally, based on the opening, a finish closer to USD 9-10 million would have been within reach. However, the initial numbers were elevated by the Eid boost, and the internal weekend trend was not particularly strong, which would suggest average legs. Nonetheless, the overseas performance is a positive for the film, especially with the high costs involved.

Twinkle Khanna's Latest Obsession? Meet The Labubu Dolls Everyone's Talking About
Last Updated: Twinkle Khanna talked about the viral Labubu in her latest post. From a humble toy to a fashion's latest obsession, here's all you need to know about these quirky dolls. Labubu dolls are taking the world by storm, and their charm isn't lost on global celebrities. Icons like Rihanna, Dua Lipa, Kim Kardashian, and BLACKPINK's Lisa have already embraced these quirky toys, turning them into the latest must-have accessory. Ananya Panday was recently spotted at the airport clutching a Labubu, only adding more fuel to this rising trend. Designed by Hong Kong artist Kasing Lung in 2015, Labubu has become recognisable for its toothy grins and impish charm. With their offbeat appearance, these quirky figures have transformed into sought-after collectibles across the globe. Twinkle Khanna, who seems equally enchanted by them, shared a hilarious personal moment in her June 7 column for The Times of India. She wrote, 'My younger one (daughter Nitara) and I are debating who gets to hang the Coke-wielding Labubu on their bag today. This is unprecedented in our household – she usually leans toward Mr Beast sweatshirts, and my sartorial attempts are an ambiguous puddle of mostly Zara, sometimes what the Devil Wears (Prada), and God's favourite (if she hasn't lost everything in the stock market) Hermes. My daughter wins this contest with a simple fact, 'Mom, Labubu is a toy. I'm a child. You're an adult. It's like me wearing your big gold ring to school. It's not OK for your age.' Shamed by my own child, I give in. She hangs it on her backpack and rushes off to school." Twinkle shared a photo featuring not one but four Labubu dolls, offering a deeper look into her growing fascination with the collectable toys. 'The secret of Pop Mart's success—the thrill of surprise. Labubus are sold in blind boxes, so you don't know what you're getting until you open it. Labubus are the new recipients of my platonic love," she wrote. What Is A Labubu? As reported by Forbes, Labubu – miniature monster-like figures inspired by Nordic folklore – are sold by the Chinese brand Pop Mart. Each doll comes in a blind box, priced between $20 (Rs 1,711) and $30 (Rs 2,566) and the excitement lies in not knowing which version you'll receive until it's unboxed. Labubu's rise from niche collectable to fashion must-have has been fueled by celebrity buzz, viral unboxing videos, and the growing culture of rare toy collecting. Enthusiasts love flaunting their latest finds on social media, turning the dolls into status symbols. According to Google Trends, searches for 'Labubu doll" and 'Labubu keychain" have soared past 2.1 million in May 2025. First Published:

Kim Sae Ron listed as creditor in father's bankruptcy while carrying $900,000 debt — new details emerge amid Kim Soo Hyun scandal
Almost four months after Kim Sae Ron's heartbreaking death, new reports are shedding light on the financial struggles she faced as the sole breadwinner for her family. These revelations come just as dating rumours linking her to actor Kim Soo Hyun have resurfaced, sparking widespread speculations about her past. Kim Sae Ron was listed as a creditor in her father's bankruptcy According to court filings, as reported by multiple K-media outlets, Kim Sae Ron was registered as a creditor in her father's personal bankruptcy case. She was owed over 250 million KRW (180,000 USD)—money she had used to repay her father's debts after he defaulted on loans from more than 20 creditors. Her father, identified only as 'A,' filed for bankruptcy in December 2020 and was officially discharged by the Uijeongbu District Court in March 2023. Kim was just 20 years old when the bankruptcy was finalized. Failed restaurant investment added to financial burden After her father's bankruptcy, Kim tried to help her family bounce back. In May 2021, she reportedly invested in a family-run restaurant, registering it under a friend's name. She poured financial resources into the business and promoted it using her entertainment industry contacts. But despite her efforts, the restaurant shut down in 2024 due to unpaid rent and operational fees, causing her to lose even more, including the security deposit. The DUI incident that changed everything In 2022, Kim was involved in a drunk driving incident, crashing into a transformer in Seoul. The case quickly spiralled into a public controversy. More than just a reputational hit, the crash reportedly impacted multiple nearby businesses, leading to civil compensation claims and a wave of legal expenses. During her DUI trial in 2023, her legal team stated that Kim had been the family's sole breadwinner, citing ongoing financial strain. They described her as taking on significant monetary responsibilities for herself and her relatives. Over 1.2 billion KRW in confirmed debt Reports from Money Today, bnt News, and allkpop detail the extent of the former child actress' financial struggles, with public records showing her confirmed liabilities totalled over KRW 1.2 billion (around USD 900,000). This included KRW 100 million each borrowed from two idols and one singer friend, a KRW 60 million loan from her agency to cover medical expenses, and a massive KRW 700 million owed to her former agency, Gold Medalist, as repayment for pre-paid breach-of-contract penalties following her 2022 DUI incident. Despite the staggering total, it remains unclear how exactly these funds were used—whether for personal needs, legal fees, or to support her family. Family disputes posthumous claim In April 2025, a month after Kim's death, her family's legal team released a statement denying the narrative that she had been the family's sole provider. They dismissed the reports of financial mismanagement and wealth being squandered as 'unworthy of attention.' Still, the court filings and business records tell a different story—one where Kim appeared to be taking on a role far heavier than her age.
