A Classic ‘SD Gundam' Mobile Suit Gets Its First Toy After 25 Years
The upcoming Robot Damashii Phoenix Gundam toy.
With SD Gundam G Generation Eternal now out, a mainstay mobile suit from the series is finally getting its own toy after 25 years.
Specifically, the Phoenix Gundam introduced in SD Gundam G Generation F on the original PlayStation in 2000 will get its own Robot Damashii toy this September.
The Phoenix Gundam has had cutesy chibi model kits in the past, as well as the odd garage kit, but this marks the first time it has been given the toy treatment and in 'regular' proportions.
The toy will also transform into Bird Mode (shown below) and includes the mobile suit's full array of weaponry, including the Feather Bits (those are the grey things on the back wings, in case you were wondering).
The Phoenix Gundam was also recently featured in SD Gundam Battle Alliance as a free unit for the player to use. It was also a Sharpshooter mobile suit, so you could bring its sizable arsenal to bear a lot quicker, as you could bypass the slower reload setup.

The only catch in all this is that this release will be exclusive to Premium Bandai, with pre-orders opening tomorrow in Japan.
Priced at 14,300 yen (or around $100 at the current exchange rate), it's not overly expensive for a modern Robot Damashii release. This is most likely down to the fact that it doesn't involve die-cast, which tends to increase the price somewhat.
In any case, my real hope here is that following this, we may finally get a proper toy of the Gundam Latreia, also from SD Gundam Battle Alliance. It's a wonderfully designed mobile suit and it would also be great to see it given similar physical treatment.

NYT ‘Connections' Hints And Answers For Saturday, June 14
Connections hints and answers are here. Looking for Friday's NYT Connections hints, clues and answers instead? You can find them here: It's a rather tough day for our Connections weekend slot, which has at least two categories that are probably going to get you in some amount of trouble. Let's go through some clues and answers to help you along the way. Connections is the second-most popular NYT Games puzzle game outside of the main crossword itself, and an extremely fun, free offering that will get your brain moving every day. Play it right here. The goal is to take a group of 16 words and find links between four pairs of four of them. They could be specific categories of terms, or they could be little world puzzles where words may come before or after them you need to figure out. And they get more complicated from there. There is only one set of right answers for this, and you only get a certain number of tries so you can't just spam around until you find something. There are difficulty tiers coded by color, which will usually go from yellow, blue/green to purple as difficulty increases, so know that going in and when you start linking them together. If you're close, it will tell you that you're one away. Again, four mistakes you lose, but if you want to know the answers without failing, either come here, or delete your web cookies and try again. If you want to play more puzzles, you can get an NYT Games subscription to access the full archives of all past puzzles. So, onto the hints and answers: These are the hints that are laid out on the puzzle board itself, but after that, we will get into spoiler territory with some hints and eventually the answers. The hints for the Connections groups today are: Alright, the full spoilers follow here as we get into what the groups are today: The full-on answers are below for each group, finally inserting the four words in each category. Spoilers follow if you do not want to get this far. The Connections answers are: Connections I thought that Yellow Group was pretty easy this time, though maybe I spend too much time online where my For You pages are full of people calling Sabrina Carpenter or Taylor Swift or what have you one of these things, and then other people arguing that they are not one of those things. It's a bit exhausting. Blue Group was not bad between Hooch and Toto, I caught on pretty quick. I mean Hooch is either booze, which no other clues match, or the dog. I did not know what dog Blue was until I figured out oh, Blue's Clues, of course. Green Group got me. I have not seen a classic 'mom' tattoo anywhere but on TV or in movies, and I thought this was some sort of Valentine's/Mother's Day thing. Close, but not quite. Here's the combination: Mom A lot of other ones I found did not have any arrows, however. Purple group? Tough. It's one of those things in hindsight that makes sense, but in the moment, it's hard to group them even if you know it's some sort of 'blank' clue. I didn't know there was such a thing as a Border Terrier as I thought there were only Border Collies. My mistake. Which ones stumped you today? Follow me on Twitter, YouTube, Bluesky and Instagram. PS5 First-Party Game Replaces Creative Director Ahead of Launch
is just a few months away from its planned release for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. However, it seems the studio is shaking things up as has named a new Creative Director for the cooperative first-person shooter. As pointed out by X, Julia Nardin, who was originally the Narrative Director for Marathon, is now the Creative Director for the upcoming shooter. According to her LinkedIn profile, she was given the new role in May 2025. Previously, Steven Cotton was the Creative Director of Marathon. It is currently unclear why Nardin shifted to the new role and what position Cotton now holds after the shift. Nardin has been with Bungie for nearly six years, where she has helped shape the narrative of multiple Destiny seasons. She was promoted to Narrative Director for Destiny: The Final Shape and Marathon. Previously, she was with ArenaNet, working on the popular MMORPG Guild Wars 2. Although the reasoning for the move is unknown, it has caused a bit of a stir for those anticipating Bungie's next release. In a recent Reddit thread about Nardin's new role, gamers have already assumed the worst is coming to PlayStation's next live service game. 'Yeah, changing the director a few months before release does not signify much confidence,' says one user. 'Hopefully after Concord, and the inevitable upcoming failure of Marathon and Fairgames, this signals a full-scale retreat from this kind of cynical cash grab live service horseshit,' says another user. PlayStation's live service effort hasn't quite gone there way. Although Helldivers 2 was a huge success, it was followed by Concord, one of the company's biggest flops in history. Sony has even cancelled some of these projects, including a God of War multiplayer game by Bluepoint Games. Marathon is slated to release on September 23 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
