Wife of Danny Jones pays tribute on Father's Day following Maura Higgins kiss scandal

Maura has vowed never to speak to Danny again following their 'mortifying' snog
The wife of Danny Jones paid tribute to him on Father's Day, mere months after a video of him sharing a kiss with Irish lass Maura Higgins went viral.
Taking to Instagram, Georgia Jones shared two black and white photographs with the caption 'For the Dads. Happy Father's Day.'
One picture showed the model posing with her own father, while a second snap showed husband Danny embracing their 7-year-old son Cooper.
Higgins and Jones became embroiled in a snog scandal when a video emerged in March showing the McFly singer and the Love Island star sharing a kiss at a Brit Awards afterparty.
The pair met in December 2024, while competing on ITV reality show I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
39-year-old Danny Jones was crowned king of the jungle, while Maura was booted before the final.
While Maura has not commented publicly on the fallout, Danny shared a statement on social media apologising to his wife of 10 years.
'Sorry it's taken me a while to post this but I've taken some time out to be with those closest to me,' he wrote.
'I want to deeply apologise to my wife and family for putting them in this situation. I love them so much and we'll continue to deal with this privately.
'I love you guys, thank you for your patience, understanding, and support. See you all soon, Danny.'
Georgia reportedly 'moved out of the family home' following the betrayal.
'Danny and Georgia may still be married but they're not together and she is working out what she wants to do,' an insider told The Sun.
'She has been hugely hurt and embarrassed by everything and told Danny she needed to get away.
"Georgia is no pushover and Danny knows as much, they are still talking about how they can move forwards.'
They added: 'She has been supported by her closest friends since this all happened. It has been the most difficult period in her life and she just needs time to work out what she wants to do and what is best for them as a family.'
A source close to Maura told Closer Magazine said she was mortified by the incident and will 'never speak' to Danny Jones again.

'It's been a tough few weeks for Maura. She's mortified and would do anything to erase what happened. She was at complete rock bottom when it all came out.
'At the same time, she feels like some of the backlash that's come her way is unjustified.
'She's saying that she refuses to be labelled as the villain or the sole reason that Danny's marriage is in bits. It just isn't fair for all the blame to be on her,' the source added, and said Maura will never speak to him again.
'It was a drunken night, and Maura insists that she can't even remember the kiss. It wasn't and won't ever be a 'thing' between them and she's said she won't speak to him again'.

Catherine, who found fame in Coronation Street, said on the Behind The Brood podcast: "When I'm on set, being in Malta as much as I have been, a year-and-a-half in total if you join it all up. I'm OK, because it's very fast paced. "A little bit like it was on Corrie. My head is firmly in work mode. I'm somebody else, I'm not me. The bedtime routine, bath time, not being able sit on the bed and read Iris a book or chat to Alfie about how his day was. "I know there's Zoom, which is wonderful, but it's not the same." Tom said to his wife: "Some days we'll go two or three days without Zooming and that might seem mental to some people. "The reality is, you'll sometimes want to ring Iris and she's too busy playing with her dollies." The star gave birth to Alfie in 2015 and she and Tom married the following year. Tom is a photographer and co-founder of Brood magazine. He added: "We knew this was going to be our life whether we had one or two kids, or no kids, so we knew the deal when we first got together and we always said we would do everything as a team, so this is just the next adventure, and we'll complete it and move on. "And we've got to just stay positive like that, as Cath's following her dreams and we support her, just like she supports me, so it's mutual respect.'
