The Japanese gaming company made this announcement via the official PlayStation Blog and confirmed that all the titles will be available to subscribers from May 6 to June 2. However, despite speculation, Until Dawn—which was rumoured to be part of the May offerings—did not make the list. This month's selection offers a mix of survival adventure, strategic card play, and retro-style sci-fi action. Sony also noted that PlayStation Plus members still have until May 5 to download April's titles: RoboCop: Rogue City, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, and Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker's Memory.
Here are all the details about the PlayStation Plus monthly games that will be available in May:
Ark: Survival Ascended (To be available for PS5 users)
In this game, players can form tribes, tame and breed hundreds of dinosaur species and other prehistoric creatures, as well as explore, craft, build, and battle their way to the top of the food chain in Ark: Survival Ascended. This survival simulation game has been completely reimagined using Unreal Engine 5, featuring high-end graphics, advanced physics systems, and quality-of-life improvements across the board.
The game includes access to all of Ark's worlds, such as Scorched Earth, Aberration, Extinction, Ark Genesis Part 1, Ark Genesis Part 2, and more. It supports public online multiplayer for up to 70 players, private-session multiplayer for up to 8 players, and local split-screen for 2 players.

The game allows the use of unconventional poker hands, discovery of game-changing joker cards, and the activation of outrageous combos in a strategic roguelike setting. By combining valid poker hands with unique jokers, players can build diverse synergies and decks. The objective is to earn enough chips to overcome challenging blinds while uncovering hidden bonus hands and decks throughout the journey. Every advantage becomes crucial in reaching the boss blind, defeating the final ante, and securing victory.
Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun (To be available for PS5, PS4 users)
Players can load up their Boltgun and dive straight into intense combat in this retro-style FPS set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Blending fast-paced, classic shooter mechanics with the visual flair of 1990s retro games, the experience puts players in the boots of a battle-hardened Space Marine on a dangerous mission across the galaxy. Facing off against Chaos Space Marines and daemons of Chaos, players unleash a devastating arsenal in true 'boomer shooter' fashion, blasting through waves of pixelated enemies in a frenzy of sprites, explosions, and gore.
With massive levels to explore, they'll run, jump, and charge their way through the most feared heretics the galaxy has to offer.

Salman Khan was spotted by the paparazzi on Monday after a long time, making a rare public appearance in Mumbai. Security personnel quickly moved to escort him, with fans and cameras rushing for a glimpse. Just days ago, two trespassing incidents occurred at Salman's Bandra residence, Galaxy Apartments. A man and a woman were arrested after allegedly trying to enter the actor's home, leading to heightened security measures around the actor. The actor is reportedly set to reprise his role as host for Bigg Boss 19, with promos likely to be shot by the end of June. A tentative launch window for the season is expected in late July. 'Get ready to tune into Sony as Salman Khan might host the biggest and most popular quiz show of India," a source quoted in reports said. Danny Boyle straps 20 iPhones together to film zombie sequel '28 Years Later'

Image: Sony Movies are shot on these ultra-expensive cinema cameras, but lately makers have been using phones also, often an iPhone and people even call that ambitious. But, Danny Boyle built a custom rig to hold 20 of them. The unconventional setup for his $75 million zombie sequel 28 Years Later for action shots that the director describes as "basically a poor man's bullet time." The sequel to his 2002's 28 Days Later, employed three different iPhone rigs throughout production. One held eight phones, another ten, and the largest accommodated a full 20 iPhone 15 Pro Max(es). These multi-camera setups could be mounted on cranes or carried by crew members to capture sweeping 180-degree views of the action. "There is an incredible shot in the second half where we use the 20-rig camera, and you'll know it when you see it," Boyle revealed to IGN. "It's quite graphic but it's a wonderful shot that uses that technique in a startling way that kicks you into a new world." For Boyle, iPhones replaces the camcorders for a 'raw' feel by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Aix-en-provence: À 29€/mois, cette mutuelle senior assure une protection totale Prio Santé En savoir plus Undo The iPhone choice wasn't arbitrary, it's a deliberate callback to the original 28 Days Later, which made waves in 2002 by using consumer-grade Canon digital camcorders instead of traditional film cameras. Last year, Boyle said he wanted to capture the same raw, immediate feel that defined the franchise's aesthetic. Image: Sony "I suppose you could ignore it, but we decided to carry it as an influence," Boyle explained, noting that smartphones are today's equivalent of the camcorders that would have documented a real zombie apocalypse in 2002. Apple helped in the production of '28 Years Later' Boyle say that this multi-camera setup offered, what he calls 'unexpected' benefits beyond creating a visual spectacle."It gives you 180 degrees of vision of an action, and in the editing you can select any choice from it," he explained. "Either a conventional one-camera perspective or make your way instantly around reality, time-slicing the subject, jumping forward or backward for emphasis." The setup also kept his cast alert and unpredictable, preventing them from anticipating camera angles during intense scenes. Despite using smartphones as the primary filming device, 28 Years Later won't look like typical phone footage. Professional cinema lenses were mounted in front of the iPhone cameras, and the production received technical support from Apple during filming. The phones shot in Apple's ProRes codec with log color profiles, preserving maximum image data for post-production color grading and editing. 28 Years Later drops in theaters June 20, bringing back Boyle alongside original writer Alex Garland and cinematographer Anthony Dod Mantle. The cast includes Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Ralph Fiennes as survivors trying to make it in a world still reeling from the Rage Virus nearly three decades later. They're already deep into filming the follow-up, 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, with The Marvels director Nia DaCosta taking the helm for a 2026 release, part of what's shaping up to be a whole new trilogy for the zombie franchise (those 28 weeks don't matter much, guess so). iPhone 16e: 5 Reasons to buy the most affordable iPhone 16 series model! Could a single uncomfortable call have changed gaming forever? How Nintendo's silent betrayal turned Sony into a rival

In the early 1980s, America's video game industry had collapsed, thanks in no small part to the catastrophic failure of the E.T. video game, a rushed tie-in that became an infamous symbol of overhyped flops. Amidst this turmoil, Japan's Nintendo saw opportunity. With the 1983 release of the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), they didn't just find success—they became synonymous with gaming itself. If you said 'video game,' you meant Nintendo. By the end of the decade, the NES had conquered living rooms around the globe. With the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) planned for launch in the early '90s, Nintendo was riding high. But as technology raced ahead, a new format loomed large on the horizon: the CD-ROM. Cartridges, Nintendo's weapon of choice, were fast becoming relics. Rather than risk irrelevance, Nintendo made a fateful decision. Enter Sony: A Perfect Match That Never Was In 1988, Nintendo partnered with Sony—then an electronics powerhouse best known for its Walkman and stereo systems—to develop a CD-ROM add-on for the SNES. The project was dubbed the 'Nintendo Play Station.' It was to be the future of gaming: cartridges for now, CD-ROMs for tomorrow. Ken Kutaragi, a Sony engineer with a keen eye for gaming, spearheaded the design. But behind the scenes, tensions brewed. Nintendo, famously protective of its ecosystem, was uneasy about giving Sony too much control over software. And so, as the world waited for the next great innovation, Nintendo made a move that stunned even its partner. The Cold Shoulder Heard Round the World Instead of renegotiating terms or even giving Sony a courtesy call, Nintendo ghosted them—completely. In a dramatic twist, the company announced, during the 1991 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), that it would be partnering with Sony's rival, Philips, on the CD-ROM project. Sony executives, along with the rest of the world, learned the news live from the press release. It was a corporate betrayal of Shakespearean proportions. Sony had poured years of R&D and millions of yen into a joint project, only to be cast aside. But rather than walk away in defeat, Sony made a bold pivot—one that would reshape entertainment forever. — Genki_JPN (@Genki_JPN) From Scorned Partner to Market Leader What followed was perhaps the greatest revenge arc in tech history. Ken Kutaragi convinced Sony brass not to shelve their console dreams but to turn the prototype into a fully standalone system. And so, the PlayStation was born—not as a collaboration, but as a challenge. You Might Also Like: Google wanted to hire this Indian founder who hacked games and built his AI startup. Why he rejected them multiple times? Released in Japan on December 3, 1994, the original Sony PlayStation had a rocky start. It lacked a robust game library and suffered from limited visibility in traditional gaming retail spaces. Yet, with a built-in CD-ROM drive, a more powerful processor, and room for more immersive worlds, it had something Nintendo didn't: potential. — VideoGameHstry (@VideoGameHstry) Sony's aggressive pricing, focus on cutting-edge graphics, and savvy marketing soon paid off. Within months, millions of PlayStations were sold. By 1997, Sony had surpassed both Sega and Nintendo in market share. iStock Original Sony Play Station launched in 1994. The Irony of Obsolescence Meanwhile, Nintendo doubled down on cartridges with the Nintendo 64, released in 1996—a year after the PlayStation. While nostalgic millennials fondly remember Super Mario 64 and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time , the N64 was commercially underwhelming, selling only 40 million units. The PlayStation? Over 102 million units. And when the PlayStation 2 launched in 2000—with a DVD player included—it became not just a gaming device, but a living room staple. To date, it remains the best-selling console of all time, with nearly 159 million units sold. It was more than a console; it was a coronation. A Legacy of Silence Looking back, it's hard to overstate the impact of that silent snub. Had Nintendo handled the disagreement with Sony more diplomatically, the PlayStation may never have been born. And yet, that very act of corporate caution—of dodging a difficult conversation—unleashed a competitor that has outpaced Nintendo in nearly every hardware generation since. In an industry defined by innovation, risk-taking, and technological brinkmanship, it wasn't a brilliant design or daring gamble that changed history. It was a missed call. Nintendo didn't just lose a deal. They created their greatest rival. And decades later, the ghost of that phone call still haunts the industry.
