Sweet Home Alabama star Josh Lucas ties the knot at The Vatican in Rome

Perth Now2 days ago
Josh Lucas has tied the knot - at The Vatican.
The 54-year-old Sweet Home Alabama actor and meteorologist Brianna Ruffalo announced on Friday (18.07.25) that they said their vows at the official residence of the Pope in Rome, Italy.
Brianna captioned an Instagram carousel from their special day: 'Mr. and Mrs. Incredibly blessed to receive this sacrament together inside the heart of the Catholic Church and holy city."
Josh gushed in the comments section: "I love you! Easily one of the greatest days of my life. I am so so grateful.'
Upon announcing their engagement last July, the Yellowstone actor admitted he was "grateful and thrilled" that Brianna had agreed to be his wife after he popped the question during a romantic vacation to Italy.
The happy couple - who had been together for almost two years - shared their happy news on Instagram.
In one clip, Brianna cried with happiness as she showed off her diamond ring while musicians played Elvis Presley's Can't Help Falling in Love.
Josh captioned his post: "For the last 2 years in Every Way and Every Day this beautiful soul has made me and my life better, deeper, and more whole.
"I am so grateful and thrilled she said 'Yes'. I WAY love you Brianna. Thank You to our families and all the people and places that made this come true. I am absolutely aware I got crazy lucky. (sic)"
Meanwhile, Brianna admitted accepting Josh's proposal was the "easiest and best question" she'd ever answered.
She wrote on her own page: "Almost 2 years ago this fall, and with no expectations, Josh walked into my life.. and we knew almost immediately we had each found our person in a way we've never experienced- on every level. This was the easiest and best question I've ever answered. So, here's to forever with my love, my best friend [heart emoji] I can't wait to keep living this life with you [prayer emoji]"
Josh - who has 13-year-old son Noah with ex-wife Jessica Ciencin Henriquez - previously joked that his new fiancée is "fully" on the side of Patrick Dempsey's character Andrew Hennings in their 2002 movie Sweet Home Alabama.
The movie sees Reese Witherspoon's Melanie Smooter leave her fiancé Andrew for Josh's alter ego Jake Perry at the end of the film.
He told Entertainment Tonight: "In [Brianna's] mind, she's like, 'But you're the guy that kind of ruined their relationship!'
"The funny thing is once she said that, all these people have come up to me and been like, 'Yeah, I was Team Patrick too.'"

Sylvanian Families embroiled in TikTok drama legal row

Sylvanian Families are at the centre of a legal battle with a TikTok creator. The beloved toys feature in videos from the Sylvanian Drama TikTok account, in which they are featured acting out adult sketches involving alcohol, drugs, cheating violence and murder but the Japanese manufacturer has taken exception to the social media content. Epoch Company Ltd have filed a copyright infringement case in the United States claiming that the videos are causing "irreparable injury" to the company's reputation. Thea Von Engelbrechten – the owner of the TikTok account that has amassed 2.5 million followers – has filed a counternotice claiming that her works are "parody". Sylvanian Families are sold as "an adorable range of distinctive animal characters with charming and beautiful homes, furniture and accessories". The toys, which have names like Freya the Chocolate Rabbit girl and Pino the Latte Cat baby, typically have wholesome adventures but the TikTok account features the toys with captions such as "My marriage is falling apart" and "My boyfriend won't post me on Instagram". Court documents filed by Epoch earlier this month with the Southern District of New York accuse Von Engelbrechten of infringing the firm's copyright without permission, causing irreparable injury to its goodwill and reputation. It states that Von Engelbrechten, who hails from Ireland, said her inspiration for the Sylvanian Drama storylines are from "cringey TV shows and early 2000s comedy". The TikTok user added: "I'm also really inspired by my cats because they are extremely sassy and self-obsessed and can be so cute, but they also have no morals when it comes to killing other animals. I try to embody that with the Sylvanians." Quizzed on why she thinks the videos are so popular, Von Engelbrechten told Fohr: "Maybe it's because it's coming from the voice of a 22-year-old who struggles with the same things as (they do). "I have a lot of storylines about insecure people, diet culture, toxic men, and sustainability, which I think other girls my age are also thinking a lot about." A pre-trial conference date has been set for August 14, when representatives from both sides will meet to discuss settlement options or to prepare the case for trial.

Junior Andre reveals dream collaborations with Jorja Smith and Joyner Lucas

Junior Andre has named Jorja Smith and Joyner Lucas as his two dream collaborators. The 20-year-old singer - whose parents are pop star Peter Andre and his ex-wife Katie Price - is at the beginning of his music career but he is already thinking about who he would like to work with in the future and those two artists are at the top of his list. Speaking exclusively to Lulu Eagle for BANG Showbiz at the launch of Men and Their Emotions (M.A.T.E) - a new mental health charity for men - on Friday night (18.07.25) at Indigo at The O2, he said: "I'm honestly so open, there are so many artists I would love to collab with. Maybe Jorja Smith on a little vibe - she's got a great voice. Joyner Lucas… he's sick.' Junior - who signed a major record deal with Columbia Records at just 16, the same label behind Harry Styles and Calvin Harris - says making music is a daily ritual, shaped entirely by how he feels in the moment. He added: "I pretty much make music every day and it depends on the vibe I'm feeling. Sometimes I'll tap into mental health stuff, sometimes I'm happy and I'll tap into summer stuff. It all depends.' As his career continues to grow, with new music and an acting role alongside his father in the upcoming musical Finding My Voice, Junior has one piece of advice he lives by, stay humble. He said: 'Always remain grounded, remember where you come from, be nice to people, man. Kindness goes a long way. Don't be mean, treat people with respect. We're all the same, no one is different. Love people, be kind, be real.' The Only One singer is a vocal advocate for mental health, especially among young men, urging them to open up emotionally and challenge outdated ideas of masculinity. He said: 'I think guys need to speak up about it. Everyone does, but a lot of guys don't, and I think it's so important. 'Your mental health is everything. In fact, it's more important than your physical health - because if your mental health is in the right place, it can help your physical health. 'Being a man is being able to be open, speaking about your emotions. People don't realise, but when you speak about your emotions you actually instantly feel relieved. Better. It's very good for you. 'If you don't, and you let it all bottle in - it's only gonna go one way.' M.A.T.E (Men and Their Emotions) is a new UK-based mental health charity, founded by comedian and rapper Daniel O'Reilly - best known as his comedy persona Dapper Laughs. Inspired by his own battles with addiction and mental health, the organisation is dedicated to encouraging men to open up emotionally, break down stigma around male vulnerability, and create safe spaces for honest conversation, support, and connection. Mariah Carey to release new album Here For It All in September

Mariah Carey has announced her new album, Here For It All. The 56-year-old pop diva will share her first album since 2018's Caution with the world on September 26. She captioned a teaser clip on Instagram on Monday (21.07.25): "Here For It All [butterfly emoji] My new album out 9/26 [butterfly emoji] Pre-order now!" It will include the previously released lead single, Type Dangerous. On July 20, Mariah posted a video that celebrated her albums, beginning with MC1 - her 1990 self-titled debut LP - through to Caution. At the end of the 37-second video montage, the Obsessed hitmaker displayed the text "MC16", and on X, the clip showed the title "MC16 - Announcement Tomorrow". On her Instagram Stories, Mariah posted the same clip, but with a frozen countdown ticker, which displayed '19:06:42". The icon's tease of a new album came the day after she previewed the new single, Sugar Sweet. Mariah gave her fans a sneak peek into the light-hearted track - which features the lyrics: "Imma keep it nice, Imma keep it neat, Imma keep it sugar, Imma keep it sweet" - in a video of her baking something in a kitchen on July 19. In June, Mariah achieved an impressive milestone with one of her hit songs. Over 500 million people listened to 1995 track Fantasy on the music streaming platform, Spotify. Fantasy was Mariah's ninth Number One single on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, and it spent eight weeks at the top from September 30 to November 18, 1995. It was also the first single, by a female artist, to debut atop the chart, and only the second single to do so after You Are Not Alone by Michael Jackson. Mariah has now got four songs that have reached this milestone, with the others being the 1994 holiday classic All I Want For Christmas Is You, which has been streamed over two billion times, 2005's We Belong Together, which has been listened to over 777 million times, and 2009's Obsessed, which has totted almost 600 million streams.
