She finds a best friend in Thomas J. Sennett (Macaulay Culkin), her who's allergic to almost everything and devoted to her in the quietest, most genuine way. There's also Harry, her emotionally distant father (Dan Aykroyd), who runs the family funeral parlor, Shelly (Jamie Lee Curtis), the new makeup artist with a warm heart and a sharp wit, and a poetry teacher Vada becomes awkwardly infatuated with as she wrestles with all the things she doesn't understand about growing up.
Everyone around her is trying to hold something together. Whether that's a business, a family, or even the idea of childhood innocence, there's always this feeling that nothing can last.

When tragedy strikes and Vada is forced to confront the reality of death for the first time, she has to figure out a way to be okay with the fact that the world won't always protect her. And that is, unfortunately, a huge part of growing up.
"My Girl" drops you right back into childhood in a way that sneaks up on you. It's all treehouses, swimming and bikes at first glance, but there's something heavier humming under every scene. It's not flashy, but it cuts deep. And in many scenes, Culkin is the reason why.
As Thomas J., Culkin is soft-spoken, careful, and kind. He doesn't dominate the screen because he doesn't need to. He just is, in that rare way where you almost forget he's acting. His chemistry with Chlumsky feels totally lived-in, and when things take their turn (because they do), their performances really make it. Culkin is exactly like the heartbroken kid he's portraying.
You don't have to be a sentimental movie person to feel this one. If you've ever lost someone too early or been a kid trying to make sense of emotions way too big for your age, this movie speaks your language.

However, the dutiful canine siblings in this video are more than up to the task of protecting their house from a bear in the middle of the night. As you will see, these are some very creative hounds, and they have a unique and hilarious way of driving away the invading bear. It is well after 3 o'clock in the morning when these dogs are awoken by a frightening sound. Earlier that night, their human mama told them that the neighbors had been seeing bears around the neighborhood, so they needed to be extra careful that night when they went outside to do their business before going to bed. Naturally, these precious dogs were on edge after being woken up by something going bump in the night. Arming themselves with a wooden spatula and a bicycle helmet, they went to the back window to investigate. What they found was a black bear making a mess on their back deck and then going through their trash can. Wanting to get rid of this intruder, they devised a cunning plan. They opened the door, blasted a YouTube clip from a fake movie, Angels withFilthy Souls, which many will likely recognize from Home Alone, where a depression era gangster character that is the famous line, 'Keep the change, ya filthy animal,' after firing a Tommy bear, living in the wilderness, must have identified as an unclean animal and didn't want any trouble, especially when the gunshots from the YouTube clip started firing, and he ran off into the night. Quite comically, these dogs' human mama finally awoke after her precious 'guard dogs' had already driven away the bear. Naturally, she had no idea what had just happened and chastised her fur babies for opening the door in the middle of the night when people had been seeing bears around. If only she knew, LOL. Seriously, though, that was a top-notch canine video. It was pure cinema, as the kids like to say. As this other video shows, these dogs and their human mama are no strangers to making incredible videos. This plan, titled 'A Chip Standoff,' features a The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly-style showdown between a couple of hungry dogs after their human drops a Cheeto in the living room. Indiana Jones whip snaps up $525,000 at auction after ‘Citizen Kane' sled goes for $14.75 million
A whip wielded by Harrison Ford in 'Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade' that once belonged to Princess Diana has sold at auction for $525,000. Thursday's sale came a day after the Rosebud sled from 'Citizen Kane' went for a staggering $14.75 million, making it one of the priciest props in movie history. They were part of the Summer Entertainment Auction being held all week by Heritage Auctions. 4 A whip used by Harrison Ford in 'Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade' sold at auction for $525,000. Heritage Auctions / SWNS Heritage says the overall take has made it the second-highest grossing entertainment auction of all time, and there's still a day to go. Yet to be up for bids are Macaulay Culkin's knit snow cap from 'Home Alone,' a Kurt Russell revolver from 'Wyatt Earp,' a pair of 'Hattori Hanzo' prop swords from 'Kill Bill Vol. 1″ and a first edition set of Harry Potter novels signed by J.K. Rowling. The whip sold Thursday was used during the Holy Grail trials that Ford's character goes through at the climax of 1989's 'Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.' Ford gave it to then-Prince Charles at the film's U.K. premiere. It was given as a gift to Princess Diana, who gave it to the current owner, who was not identified. Neither of those buyers were identified either. The sled was sold by longtime owner Joe Dante, director of films including 'Gremlins.' 'Rosebud' is the last word spoken by the title character in director Orson Welles' 1941 film 'Citizen Kane,' and the hunt for its meaning provides the film's plot. Many critics have regarded it as the best film ever made.
