Local Influencer CEO Batu Back On TikTok Following Release From Police Custody?
Last week, Malaysian netizens were outraged after local influencer CEO Batu was exposed for sending inappropriate images to a 14-year-old. Unfortunately, many believe the content creator isn't remorseful of his actions.
For those unfamiliar with the case, CEO Batu is a Malaysian influencer known for his comedic videos on TikTok. However, last week, singer Caprice exposed the public figure for sending inappropriate photos to a 14-year-old fan. Caprice also alleged that there are other victims, also minors. CEO Batu was arrested by authorities on 22nd May 2025 and released on police bail on 27th May 2025 (Tuesday).
However, on Wednesday morning, a Twitter user alleged that CEO Batu created a new TikTok account shortly after being released. His previous TikTok account, which boasted over a million followers, was banned from the platform following his arrest. The supposed creation of the new account sparked outrage amongst netizens, with many lamenting that the media personality seemed unfazed by his recent case.
The Twitter post also highlighted the surprising number of followers that the account already has. The user argued that this, unfortunately, showcases Malaysians' tendency to support disgraced influencers despite them getting implicated in serious crimes like paedophilia. However, some netizens expressed doubt, arguing that CEO Batu may have created the account before his recent arrest as a backup, or someone else may have created it to ride on the current issue.
It's unknown when the account was made or whether it belongs to CEO Batu. Nevertheless, netizens are angry over the support the influencer is still receiving despite there being evidence of him sending inappropriate photos to a minor. Many also lament the shocking number of people defending CEO Batu on social media, adding that it draws concern for the safety of children.
CEO Batu's case is being investigated under Section 15(e) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017. If found guilty, the influencer could face imprisonment of up to ten years or a fine of up to RM20,000 or both. What are your thoughts on this?

KUALA LUMPUR: The authorities must investigate how a 25-year-old British national managed to trespass onto a construction site before falling into an elevator shaft. Alliance for a Safe Community chairman Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye questioned whether proper safety measures were in place, describing the incident as preventable. "The responsibility falls on the shoulders of the contractors and those managing the work site," he said. "Was there any signage at the site or a barricade? Were there any security personnel present? If they were on duty, they would not have allowed him to go through." He added that the company carrying out construction must conduct an internal investigation to prevent recurrence. Lee, who is also the former chairman of the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, stressed that construction sites were legally required to have security measures in place to prevent trespassing. A construction work contractor is required to identify the perimeter of a construction site with a suitable sign and fence the area off under regulation 20(2) of the Occupational Safety and Health (Construction Work) (Design and Management) Regulations 2024. Anyone who violates the regulation may be liable to a fine not exceeding RM500,000 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year or both. On Thursday, the police confirmed that missing British backpacker Jordan Johnson-Doyle was found dead in an elevator shaft of a partially under-construction condominium in Bangsar here. A post-mortem showed that the cause of death was a chest injury due to a fall from height.

Mother, uncle held over 4-year-old's fatal fall from Bukit Jalil apartment
KUALA LUMPUR: Police have detained the mother and uncle of a four-year-old boy who died after reportedly falling from the 30th floor of an apartment in Bukit Jalil here on Wednesday. Cheras police chief ACP Aidil Bolhassan said the Indonesian nationals, aged 25 and 27 respectively, have been remanded until today to assist in investigations under Section 31(1) of the Child Act 2001. The boy's father is Malaysian, he said. "Based on the post-mortem, the child died due to multiple injuries sustained after the fall. The cause that led to the incident is still under investigation," he said in a statement. It was reported Wednesday that police received an emergency call at 11.17am regarding a boy who died after reportedly falling from the balcony of his home. – BERNAMA
