New Balance goes big on grey with London promotion and new products
Given the 'colour' grey continues to influence much of our visual lives (think house front doors, cars, etc) New Balance is running with it as a major new product theme called 'Grey Days'.
And its importance to the sportswear brand is clear as it said: 'Grey embodies a design philosophy of timelessness, quality, and quiet confidence, spotlighting the brand's legacy and the evolution of its innovation and silhouettes across generations'.
It also 'continues to embody New Balance's dedication to craft, quality and fearless independence, in every field'.
Originally introduced by the brand in the 1980s 'in the service of building a superior urban running shoe', we fast-forward to May with a celebration that brings the colour closer to consumers, with New Balance having installed a newspaper kiosk in London featuring a 'Grey Days' special edition.
The kiosk has been located in the heart of a popular meeting place, Seven Dials in Covent Garden, where visitors are encouraged to experience the space and grab a Grey Days newspaper.
With the aim of 'giving back', a crossword puzzle can be found on the back page with participants encouraged to solve the puzzle and return it to the kiosk. With staff members verifying the answers, correct participants are given the chance to 'play' and pick a counter from within a concealed bag. Every day there are x10 grey counters given away to winners, with the prize of a gift card that they can redeem in-store for a pair of free trainers.
The brand is also celebrating Grey Days throughout May with an assortment of new and classic footwear and apparel styles in a full range of grey shades, available in its stores, online and via selected retailers.

New Balance holds Grey Days campaign event in Delhi
Footwear brand New Balance debuted its annual Grey Days campaign event in India with a fashion show at its exclusive brand outlet in Ambience Mall in New Delhi's Vasant Kunj. The event was designed to spotlight the label's signature shade and design philosophy and celebrate the enduring symbolism of grey in the brand's identity. 'Whether you're new to the brand or a longtime loyalist, grey embodies the promise of everything that sets New Balance apart,' said Brian Lynn, global vice president of lifestyle at New Balance, in a press release. 'Grey Days 2025 showcases its diverse appeal.' Originally adopted in the 1980s to differentiate from bright-coloured synthetic running shoes, grey became New Balance's visual signature. The design choice was designed to reflect the grit of urban road running and stand for craftsmanship, quality, and fearless independence. Grey Days 2025 presented grey as a symbol of limitless possibility, applied across a range of footwear and apparel, from archival looks to contemporary designs. The highlight of the Delhi event was a fashion show featuring key styles from the Grey Days collection. Artists, stylists, sneaker collectors, and fashion influencers were among the attendees, engaging in curated in-store experiences. 'Grey Days debuting in India marks a major milestone for New Balance," said New Balance's India country manager Radeshwer Davar. "We've more than doubled our retail footprint in the past year, and this momentum shows the brand's rising significance in the Indian market.'

Kith reopens its historic Manhattan flagship
Kith officially reopened on Friday its Manhattan boutique, at 337 Lafayette St. Located within a Landmark district, the three-level boutique blends historical architecture with contemporary design. Materials transition seamlessly from floor to floor, from darker, grounded tones to lighter, more refined finishes, creating a natural progression. The store is characterized by a blend of dark walnut contrasted with white oak, alongside a selection of marble stones such as Varias Green and Mountain White Danby, among other elements. The first floor is now fully dedicated to Kith Men's assortment, with displays accented by satin brass fixtures and leather-wrapped shelving. An updated statement staircase guides visitors to the second floor housing a curated mix of multi-brand ready-to-wear pieces and accessories. Lastly, the third floor showcases the latest in footwear. The store opens with the brand's Summer 2025 collection. Kith founder Ronnie Fieg also teamed up with New Balance to unveil an all-new 2010 silhouette. Completing the space is a street-level Kith Treats window offering signature specials, a Build Your Own menu, and an exclusive new creation: The Metropolitan Cronut. 'This reopening is historic—the Manhattan flagship represents Kith's beginning, and this luxury upgrade paves the way for the future,' the brand said in a news statement. Earlier this year, Kith opened a new flagship store in the city of Osaka, marking its second flagship in Japan, following its Tokyo location.
