Truck, motorcycle crash leads to serious injuries

May 23—GRAND FORKS — One man was seriously injured when the motorcycle he was operating crashed with a pickup in Grand Forks, causing both vehicles to erupt in flames.
The incident occurred shortly after 6 p.m. at the intersection of 32nd Avenue South and South 31st Street.
According to a report from the Grand Forks Police Department, a 1996 Suzuki motorcycle driven by Jordan Anderson, 18, of Grand Forks, was eastbound on 32nd and a 2023 Dodge Ram, driven by Samuel Turner, 48, of Mesa, Arizona, was westbound on 32nd.
As the Dodge was making a left turn on 31st, the motorcycle struck the truck, according to the GFPD report. Anderson was severely injured and taken to Altru Hospital.
The Grand Forks Fire Department, Altru paramedics and some passersby provided assistance.

The fatal crash happened just north of SR-750, on US-23, when a Columbus woman driving a 2018 Dodge Ram pickup truck, heading south, veered left of center and struck a motorist from Mount Cory, Ohio, driving a 2021 Toyota Venza. The collision caused the Dodge Ram to ricochet head-on into a 2025 Honda Accord, which was also heading northbound, and both vehicles caught fire after impact. 78-year-old cancer patient's dog fatally shot in front of her Three passengers were in the Toyota Venza, including 64-year-old Carol Waldman and 54-year-old Amanda Reidling, who were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and the third passenger sustained serious injuries and were taken to a Columbus hospital. The driver of the Dodge Ram was also seriously injured and taken to a hospital, while the driver of the Honda, plus one juvenile passenger, suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene. The OSHP said seatbelt usage for the Honda occupants was confirmed but could not confirm whether any other parties involved were wearing their restraints. The investigation of the crash, which was assisted by the Delaware County Sheriff's Office, the Ohio Department of Transportation, Delaware County EMS, and Orange Township Fire and EMS, remains under investigation.

A man has died after the car he was driving crashed with a lorry on the A1(M) in North Yorkshire. Both vehicles were travelling northbound when the crash happened at about 10.45pm last night (Friday, August 8) near Leeming Bar and Bedale. The A1(M) remains closed northbound this morning from junction 50 at Ripon to junction 52 at Catterick for crash investigation work. North Yorkshire Police said the driver of the car – a blue Suzuki hatchback – was pronouced dead at the scene. The driver of the lorry – a blue Scania – was uninjured, police said. Paramedics, including an air ambulance, were called to the scene last night. North Yorkshire Police had urged drivers to avoid the area after the crash. Officers are asking anyone with information about the crash to contact North Yorkshire Police. 'We're appealing to anyone who was travelling north or southbound and either witnessed the collision or saw the vehicles prior to the incident, to get in touch if they have not already spoken to officers at the scene,' a force spokesperson said. One of the incidents happened about 2:13 p.m. July 16 in the 100 block of Fisher Freeway, when someone or multiple people forced entry into a black 2023 Dodge Ram. The infotainment system was stolen from the pickup. Another incident happened about 2:36 p.m. July 20 at a parking garage in the 2900 block of Grand River Avenue, when someone or multiple people entered a white 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander, and stole a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses.
