He said this during his meeting with the Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce. The minister acknowledged the growing trade volumes with the Midlands, and underlined Pakistan's evolving strengths beyond traditional sectors, including in processed foods, fisheries, pharmaceuticals, leather goods, IT services, furniture, ceramics, and sports goods, said a statement by the ministry.
He also encouraged businesses in Birmingham to explore high-quality Pakistani products such as Basmati rice, mangoes, and halal-certified processed foods.
'In particular, he spotlighted Pakistan as a reliable partner for Birmingham's advanced manufacturing and automotive supply chains — citing cost-effective production capabilities, expertise in light engineering and metal fabrication, and Pakistan's strong track record in supplying global automotive brands.'
The Minister also underscored opportunities under Pakistan's National EV Policy and renewable energy shift, especially in areas such as battery technology and electric drivetrains, which directly align with Birmingham's green mobility ambitions.
The press release said that the minister visited 'Nouvo' a major UK-based food distribution company, and also the Birmingham City Football Club.
His discussions at Nouvo focused on strengthening commercial supply chains and expanding the footprint of halal-certified and ethnic food products from Pakistan in the British market.
'These engagements underscore Pakistan's renewed emphasis on industrial linkages, regional value chains, and diaspora-led commercial diplomacy, reflecting a strong intent to position Pakistan as a value-added trade partner to the UK.'

CDA to process land transfer abroad
Following the passing of a former ambassador of a Gulf country who once served in Pakistan, his family will cover all expenses — including travel, accommodation, and meals — for a three-member delegation from the Capital Development Authority (CDA) being sent abroad to transfer ownership of his agro-farm plot in Chak Shahzad. According to sources, the ambassador had purchased the Chak Shahzad plot over three decades ago during his diplomatic posting in Islamabad. Upon completion of his assignment, he returned to his home country, where he later passed away. After his death, the Gulf nation formally requested the Government of Pakistan to facilitate the transfer of the property to the nominee named by the late ambassador's family. Acting on the instructions of the Ministry of Interior, Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa approved the dispatch of a three-member team to the Pakistani embassy in that Gulf country. The team will carry out the formal transfer of ownership in favour of the nominated heir. A CDA official clarified that the deceased ambassador's family will fully bear all costs related to the CDA delegation's visit abroad. Not a single rupee of public funds will be spent for this purpose, he maintained.

European powers plan fresh nuclear talks with Iran: German diplomatic source
BERLIN: Britain, France and Germany are planning to hold fresh talks with Iran on its nuclear programme in the coming days, a German diplomatic source told AFP on Sunday. The European powers, known as the E3, 'are in contact with Iran to schedule further talks for the coming week', the source said, following warnings from the trio that international sanctions against Iran could be reactivated if Tehran does not resume negotiations. Iran's Tasnim news agency also reported that Tehran had agreed to hold talks with the three European countries, citing an unnamed source. Consultations are ongoing regarding a date and location for the talks, the report said. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held a call Friday with his British, French and German counterparts and European Union foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas. European powers urge Iran to continue US nuclear talks During the call, the Europeans warned that if Iran did not return to talks soon, they would activate a so-called 'snapback' mechanism to reimpose sanctions lifted in a 2015 deal to curb Tehran's nuclear output. Iran and the United States had held several rounds of nuclear negotiations through Omani mediators before Israel launched its 12-day war against Iran on June 13. However, US President Donald Trump's decision to join Israel in striking Iranian nuclear facilities effectively ended the talks. 'Iran must never be allowed to acquire a nuclear weapon. That is why Germany, France and the United Kingdom are continuing to work intensively in the E3 format to find a sustainable and verifiable diplomatic solution to the Iranian nuclear programme,' the German source said. Iran denies it is pursuing nuclear weapons. The 2015 deal between Iran and world powers, called the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), placed significant restrictions on Tehran's nuclear programme in exchange for sanctions relief. But the hard-won deal began to unravel in 2018, during Trump's first presidency, when the United States walked away from it and reimposed sanctions on Iran. 'If no solution is reached over the summer, snapback remains an option for the E3,' the German source said.
