Miley Cyrus, Timothée Chalamet and Demi Moore to receive stars on Hollywood Walk of Fame
Miley Cyrus, Timothée Chalamet and Demi Moore were among the 35 honorees announced this morning by Eugenio Derbez and Richard Blade.
Inductees were selected across five categories: motion pictures, television, live theater and live performance, recording and sports entertainment. There were no radio honorees. Others who made the class of 2026 include actors Emily Blunt, Rachel McAdams, Molly Ringwald, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Rami Malek and Noah Wyle; former NBA star turned sports analyst Shaquille O'Neal; and 'Good Morning America' co-anchors Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos, who will have a double ceremony. Italian special effects artist Carlo Rambaldi and director Tony Scott will be posthumously honored.
Cyrus, who released her ninth studio album, 'Something Beautiful,' in May, rolled around the Walk of Fame for the music video for her aptly titled single 'Walk of Fame,' later revealing on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' that she developed an infection on her kneecap from the bacteria on the famed Hollywood Boulevard sidewalk. Still, the singer shared some of the footage on Instagram shortly after her star was announced.
'When I first came to LA from Nashville as a little girl, my family would stay at a hotel on Hollywood Blvd, and I would go on late night walks with my dad when no one would recognize him. We'd have the gift shops to ourselves & buy knock off Oscars and Marilyn Monroe merchandise,' she wrote. 'To now be cemented on this legendary boulevard, surrounded by the icons who inspired me, feels like a dream.'
Meanwhile, Chalamet is coming off the success of the Bob Dylan biopic 'A Complete Unknown.' He earned an Oscar nomination for his role as the legendary singer-songwriter. He's set to begin filming the third installment of the 'Dune' film franchise, titled 'Dune: Messiah,' this summer, according to Deadline.
Moore, who rose to prominence with the 1985 film 'St. Elmo's Fire,' earned her first Oscar nomination this year for her role in 'The Substance,' in which she starred opposite Margaret Qualley. She and Ringwald will be the latest of the Brat Pack to join the Walk of Fame, following Rob Lowe in 2015. It's also a family affair for Blunt and brother-in-law Stanley Tucci, who appeared in 'The Devil Wears Prada' together and are set to return for the sequel.
Once selected, honorees are expected to cover an $85,000 sponsorship fee to pay for the creation and installation of the star, as well as maintenance of the Walk of Fame. Recipients have up to two years to schedule their ceremonies before the offer expires.

Florida food trucks face backlash after catering controversy at Alligator Alcatraz
A Mexican food truck company is apologizing to its customers for participating in a catering event at Alligator Alcatraz. "We deeply regret the impression our involvement may have given and the pain it has caused within our community," said Elote Lovers, a Homestead restaurant, in a statement on Instagram. Elote Lovers was one of four food trucks seen entering the Everglades immigration processing center on a TikTok posted on July 2. The video, which now has over 3.7 million views, shows food trucks named Kona Ice, Elote Lovers, Churromania and Ms. Cheezius driving into the gate at the Dade Collier Training and Transition Airport in Miami-Dade County. "They love our food but hate our people," wrote TikTok user osozalez. In a statement on Instagram, Ms. Cheezius said the food truck was approached by a disaster response company to help provide meals for active service members who were working at Alligator Alcatraz. "Contrary to misleading online narratives, our presence was not part of any celebration or grand opening, and we are not engaged in ongoing services there," the statement says. Kona Ice also released a statement and clarified that each Kona Ice truck is locally owned and operated. The company said the event was booked through an unknown agency, and the franchise was unaware of the facility's nature or its association with "politically sensitive issues." "Our brand exists to bring a moment of happiness to communities through our shaved ice experience – and we recognize the importance of ensuring that mission is never misinterpreted," the statement says. Restaurant said providing food was not an endorsement On Elote Lovers' website, the restaurant says they started as a family-run food truck in 2011 but expanded in 2019. "What started as a small family venture has grown into a place where tradition meets innovation," the website says. "From our classic Mexican-style elotes to our loaded Crunchwraps, unique street eats, and Fresh Squeezed Lemonade, every bite is crafted with love, quality ingredients, and a little bit of heat!" The restaurant said providing food for Alligator Alcatraz was not an endorsement of the facility, which opened July 1 with a highly-publicized visit from President Donald Trump and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. Both toured the facility with Gov. Ron DeSantis and Florida Division of Emergency Management Director Kevin Guthrie, who boasted about the state's quick efforts to set up the immigration processing center in eight days. The state plans to hold 3,000 detained immigrants at the Everglades detention center for future removal to their countries of origin. It's been heavily criticized, with opponents arguing it will harm the fragile ecosystem of the Everglades, is inhumane to detainees and the facility will waste taxpayer dollars. DeSantis described these sites as a "one-stop shop," for deportation. Questions for comment from Churromania are pending. "We do not support, condone, or align ourselves with any form of oppression, abuse, of injustice," Elote Lovers said. "We never have and we never will." Several Fourth of July celebrations have been canceled in Los Angeles over fears of raids by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, according to local officials and event organizers. In early June, ICE agents carried out a series of immigration sweeps across Southern California, sparking protests in Los Angeles that spread nationwide as the raids impacted other parts of the country. The threat of continued ICE raids persists, prompting some officials and organizers to express concern over the welfare of revelers congregating in large celebratory gatherings.
