Malaysia turns away 99 foreign arrivals at KLIA after seven-hour border sweep
The agency's corporate communications unit said that the arrivals were denied entry to the country as a result of detailed checks of over 400 individuals in a special seven-hour operation targeting high-risk flights.
'Those denied entry were all men, 80 Bangladeshi, 10 Indians and nine Pakistani. They were denied as they failed to meet immigration checks, including having suspicious reasons for visiting and travel records.
'They underwent further documentation processes before being deported to their countries of origin according to existing legal procedures,' the agency said in a statement today, adding that the checks involved background screening, checks on travel documents and individual interviews.
AKPS also stressed that such enforcement measures would be stepped up periodically as a proactive strategy to tackle human trafficking and abuses of social visit passes. — Bernama

'Two of the victims managed to jump into the sea, but the missing individual is believed to have still been inside the yacht when it sank,' he was quoted as saying at a press conference after the Malaysian Maritime 2025 Media Day programme at the Sultan Ahmad Shah Maritime Academy (AMSAS) in Kuantan today. The two individuals who jumped into the sea were later rescued. Utusan Malaysia also reported that no new leads have emerged so far regarding the missing person or the yacht, but search and rescue (SAR) operations are ongoing. The current search area spans 7.89 square nautical miles, and efforts are expected to continue over the next few days depending on weather and sea conditions. The incident, which took place about 30 nautical miles off Pulau Yu, involved three Turkish nationals who were sailing from Pulau Tioman to Pattani, Thailand, when their yacht sank due to rough weather.

TOKYO, Aug 3 — A 19-year-old Japanese teen idol has filed a police report after allegedly being raped and impregnated by the boyfriend of the group's producer and influencer, Yurinya. The allegations were first leaked by Japanese YouTuber Korekore on August 1 and later confirmed by Yurinya in a social media statement, according to a report by Koreaboo. Yurinya named her former partner in the statement, saying, 'I am deeply saddened and feel a strong sense of responsibility that someone I trusted, Taichi Saito, committed such an extremely irresponsible and inconsiderate act.' 'As a producer and an individual, I want to make it clear that I strongly denounce his actions and have completely severed all personal and professional ties with him.' Korekore claimed that the idol, a member of Japanese idol group Pretty Chuu — identified as Ten-ten in Yurinya's statement and as Shuna Amamiya in Japanese media reports — was secretly undressed and filmed while asleep at Yurinya's home. Although Saito later apologised to her via Line messages, it was alleged that he subsequently raped her while she was asleep, resulting in a pregnancy and later, an abortion. Korekore alleged that Saito pressured Amamiya to stay silent and offered a settlement of ¥1 million (approximately RM28,878). Amamiya reportedly reached out to Korekore for help before filing a police report. In a Twitter update yesterday, Korekore shared conflicting accounts of the incident: Amamiya claimed, 'There was no consent while in a drunken state,' while Saito said, 'They kissed me, and it was consensual.' Japanese police are reportedly reconstructing the situation, as the incident occurred in private and evidence remains inconclusive. PETALING JAYA, Aug 3 — The mother of Form One student Zara Qairina Mahathir has lodged a fresh police report after recalling signs of possible physical trauma on her daughter's body, nearly three weeks after her death in a Sabah school hostel. Noraidah Lamat made the report at the Sipitang police station today after remembering seeing bruises on her daughter's back while preparing the body for burial. Her lawyers, Hamid Ismail and Shahlan Jufri, said the memory surfaced only recently when she was questioned about the state of Zara Qairina's body during the Islamic funeral washing ritual, which took place at Hospital Queen Elizabeth I on July 17. 'Our client did not include this important information in her earlier police reports because she had completely forgotten about it,' the lawyers said in a statement. 'She only recalled the bruises when we questioned her yesterday afternoon about the condition of her daughter's body during the washing ritual. 'She forgot about this fact as she had been overcome with grief since July 16 following what happened to her daughter.' The legal team said the newly recalled detail warranted a fresh investigation into Zara Qairina's death — despite Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail stating yesterday that police had completed their probe and would be handing the investigation papers to the Attorney General's Chambers next week.
