Kepa, who spent the 2023/24 campaign at Real Madrid, has signed a three-year deal, the PA news agency understands. The fee is reported to be around £5million, with the transfer subject to the completion of regulatory processes.
'I'm really, really happy to be here, really excited and looking forward to what is coming,' Kepa told Arsenal's website.
'The ambition that is shown in this club, when I talk with Mikel (Arteta) and (goalkeeping coach) Inaki (Cana), how much they show me their desire to win, I think we are so close to winning and, hopefully, altogether, we can achieve it.'
Kepa became the world's most expensive goalkeeper when he joined Chelsea from Athletic Bilbao in a £71m deal during the summer of 2018, going on to win the Europa League and Champions League with the Blues as well as the 2023 UEFA Nations League with Spain.
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is confident Kepa will provide plenty of competition for his compatriot Raya.
'He is a player we know, having come up against him many times in recent seasons,' Arteta said. 'He brings a wealth of experience, which his team-mates will benefit from, and he has a real hunger to win.
Goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has departed Chelsea and joined Arsenal.
We thank Kepa for his efforts during his time at Stamford Bridge and wish him well in the future.
— Chelsea FC (@ChelseaFC) July 1, 2025
'Kepa works hard and will elevate our levels. I know he will fit in perfectly, already knowing some of his team-mates, and we are really excited about his future with us.'
Chelsea posted on X: 'We thank Kepa for his efforts during his time at Stamford Bridge and wish him well in the future.'
Arsenal also appear to be closing in on deals for Brentford midfielder Christian Norgaard and Real Sociedad's Martin Zubimendi.
The Gunners are in need of midfield reinforcements, with Thomas Partey having become a free agent after his contract expired and Jorginho also leaving the club earlier this month to join Brazilian club Flamengo.

JOBE BELLINGHAM was devastated after realising a booking he received had ruled him out of a dream clash against his brother Jude and Real Madrid. With the Club World Cup entering its crucial stages, Jobe's suspension means he is unable to help his new team Borussia Dortmund in the quarter-finals - and that's not his only disappointment. 3 Jobe Bellingham received a yellow card after a late challenge on Nelson Deossa Credit: GETTY 3 He will miss Borussia Dortmund's quarter final tie against Real Madrid Credit: GETTY Following a booking in Dortmund's third group game against Ulsan HD, the former Sunderland star picked up another yellow card in the Round of 16 tie with Monterrey for a late tackle on Nelson Deossa. Under Club World Cup rules, two yellow cards in separate games result in a one-match ban. The result is Bellingham is suspended for Dortmund's quarter-final clash with Real Madrid which means he misses out on the chance to play against his older brother. The suspension came as a shock to Jobe. "I think he did not exactly know that the second yellow card is a suspension at half-time. He was a little bit surprised. "OK, he's young. His brother is also young so I'm convinced they will face each other, maybe next season in the Champions League and then the future. The future is for them. "The Club World Cup would be nice but now it isn't. Someone else must play for him but it's also OK." Jobe followed in Jude's footsteps by joining Dortmund earlier this summer in a £30million deal. Jobe Bellingham on target as Dortmund beat Sundowns He was snapped up in time to make his debut at the Club World Cup and has since helped his new side finish top of Group F and then beat Mexican side Monterrey 2-1 in a tightly contested match last night. Two quick goals from Serhou Guirassy put the German club in a comfortable position at half-time. Monterrey's Berterame managed to pull one back soon after the break, but it wasn't enough to spark a comeback. Dortmund now turn their attention to this Saturday when they face Spanish giants Real Madrid - but without their new summer signing, the clash becomes an even tougher test.

Wales goalkeeper Olivia Clark goes from working at McDonald's to Euro 2025
Clark admits to a 'random' football journey that has taken her from defunct clubs to Champions League action in the Netherlands. But probably the strangest part of the story is that Clark actually began her international journey with Wales when she was still serving fast food customers in Lincoln. 'I was front of house at McDonald's, on the tills and taking orders,' said Clark, whose next task is to stop Manchester City star Vivianne Miedema and company when Wales meet the Netherlands in their Euro 2025 opener on Saturday. 'I was still doing that when I first got into the Wales set-up. 'I said to them, 'I've got to go now to go to international camp' and they were like, 'What?'. 'It was all very random, but then my whole career's been like that.' Prep time 🏃♀️ — Wales 🏴 (@Cymru) July 1, 2025 Clark began her football career at local club Lincoln Ladies and switched from her striker role after 'our goalkeeper fell ill one day'. While she would remain in situ, the team did not as Lincoln Ladies relocated to Nottingham and rebranded. Clark thought her sporting future might lie in cricket – she had played for Lincolnshire and the Yorkshire Diamonds development team – but was persuaded to train at seventh-tier Boston and progressed up the pyramid via Nettleham, Huddersfield and Coventry United. By then, her Wales career was up and running. 'I was on Twitter scrolling one day and saw the FAW holding a trial for Under-17s,' said Clark, now 23 and with 30 senior caps to her name ahead of Wales' major tournament bow in Lucerne. Tournament essentials 🤩🏴 — Wales 🏴 (@Cymru) July 1, 2025 'I said to my dad, 'Mum's Welsh, do you think I could play for Wales?'. He said, 'Of course', so he drove me four-and-a-half hours to Merthyr and I was soon invited to senior camp. 'It's been such an honour to play for Wales because it connects my family.' Clark's club career has taken her from Coventry – the Championship team were liquidated while she was there – to Bristol City, FC Twente in the Netherlands and back to the Women's Super League at Leicester. At Twente in the first half of this season she came up against Celtic, Chelsea and Real Madrid in the Champions League, getting a sneak preview of the talent coming through the Dutch ranks. Clark said: 'It was a good level of football, full of young players and an up and coming league. 'It was a dream to play in the Champions League, but the opportunity to come back to the WSL with Leicester was too good to turn down. 'Most of the top Dutch players are elsewhere such as the WSL or the German league, but their young players are technical, physical and very tactically intelligent. 'I think our first game will be quite physical and people will see us as underdogs. But I think we can surprise a lot of people in this tournament.'

Celtic eye further signings as Brendan Rodgers bids to ‘refresh' squad
The Hoops have added four new faces so far in the shape of goalkeeper Ross Doohan, Kieran Tierney, Callum Osmand and Benjamin Nygren. The manager intends to replenish his squad further, with four-and-a-half weeks to go until the league campaign begins at home to St Mirren and seven weeks to finalise preparations for their Champions League play-off first leg. Rodgers explained the fact Celtic do not automatically qualify for the main phase of the Champions League means they are 'trying to get to the end point that little bit quicker because it's something that's very, very important to us'. 📰 Brendan Rodgers: Being back at Lennoxtown gets us excited for the season ahead 💬 "Pre-season is always a tense and difficult period when you're one of the big clubs because there are no pre-season friendlies."#ReturningChampions | #SummerOfCeltic | #CelticFC🍀 — Celtic Football Club (@CelticFC) July 2, 2025 'We're not needing a major overhaul of the squad, but freshness is so important,' Rodgers said in an interview with Celtic TV. 'Some of these guys have been here a long time. 'It's so important, even in a winning squad, that you refresh that and reset the competition in the squad. We've done some really good business up until now. I see us doing more to get us set up for hopefully what will be a really exciting season.' Tierney and Nygren are Celtic's two main signings so far, with Doohan set to be a back-up keeper and 19-year-old striker Osmand to be assessed in pre-season before the club 'decide what his development needs to look like'. Rodgers reported Tierney is delighted to be returning to his boyhood club following six years at Arsenal. 'Sometimes top players like that might come back later on in their career, but we're getting Kieran at 27 years of age,' said the manager. 'I was with him during the summer so I know first hand as well how excited he is to be here and I'm looking forward to seeing this new version of Kieran, having had the experience in the Premier League and playing at a top club like Arsenal. 'He'll come back here with greater maturity both as a person, as a professional and tactically and now we can really get the benefits of that.' Rodgers is enthused about the arrival of 23-year-old Sweden forward Nygren from Nordsjaelland. 'I was in contact with a friend of mine there (the assistant coach at Nordsjaelland) who was a top midfield player, Michael Essien, and he spoke really, really highly of Benjamin,' said the manager. 'From speaking to him and seeing him play, he's a leader on the pitch and he produces on the pitch in terms of his goals he scores, what he creates and he's got real good physicality. I'm really looking forward to seeing him adapt to how we play.' Rodgers wished Greg Taylor well after the left-back declined the chance to extend his six-year stay at Celtic and instead joined Greek club PAOK. 'I spoke to Greg over the summer, he rang me to tell me what his final decision was going to be,' said Rodgers. 'I've made it clear all the way along I'd love to have kept Greg, a brilliant servant, a brilliant player for the club but also a really good guy off the pitch. 'Really well loved in the changing room and he played for us really big on the pitch. Six great years, he won titles and leaves with the goodwill of everyone and I hope the move really works out well for him.'
