‘Ironheart' Has a Phase One MCU Link We Didn't See Coming
If we said Ironheart, the new Marvel Studios show about a genius who builds a special suit allowing her to fly around, linked to the original 2008 film Iron Man, you'd say 'No duh.' The entire idea and premise of the show are intrinsically linked to that character and film. But if we told you the connection went beyond that, and linked to a supporting character in that film played by an Oscar winner, you'd probably be like 'Tell me more.' So we will.
Ironheart debuted its first three episodes on Disney+ this week, and we think it's awesome. It's a really fun, slick show about a flawed lead character trying to find herself in this wild Marvel Cinematic Universe. So, before we just go ahead and spoil this fun reveal, we'd urge you to give the show a shot. You'll be happy you did.Or, you know, just keep reading here. That's fine too.
In the first few episodes of Ironheart, Riri Williams is in need of some specific pieces of tech. She finds them thanks to a black market buyer who calls himself Joe McGillicuddy, played by none other than young Han Solo himself, Alden Ehrenreich. Joe is lying about a lot of things, clearly, but soon we realize it's way beyond just lying. It turns out, Joe's real name is Ezekiel Stane and he's the son of Obadiah Stane, former head of Stark Industries who became the Iron Monger and died at the end of the original Iron Man. He was played by Jeff Bridges.
What we learn in Ironheart is that Tony Stark covered up Stane's villainous turn, letting him have a heroic legacy. However, Ezekiel knows the truth and is constantly haunted by it. He's worried he'll be corrupted by power like his father and, well, only three episodes of Ironheart are out so we'll stop there.
Some fans are sure to be annoyed at this seemingly out of the blue connection back to Iron Man but we think it fits into the DNA of this show. Riri is always thinking about Stark, his legacy, accomplishments, and more. And, with Joe/Ezekiel, she finds someone who shares a lot of those concerns.
What's next for the son of Jeff Bridges? Will there (inevitably) be more wild MCU connections? We'll find out next week when the final three episodes of Ironheart come to Disney+.

Denis Villeneuve Set to Direct the Next JAMES BOND Film — GeekTyrant
After months of speculation, Amazon MGM Studios has confirmed that Dune and Blade Runner 2049 director Denis Villeneuve is officially set to helm the next James Bond installment. This announcement comes after a long stretch of behind-the-scenes wrangling over the Bond franchise's creative direction, especially since Amazon acquired MGM for $8.5 billion in 2022. While Amazon gained distribution rights back then, they only recently secured full creative control of the Bond franchise through surprising deal with longtime producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson. Since No Time to Die closed out Daniel Craig's run in 2021, Bond has essentially been in a holding pattern… until now. Villeneuve wasn't the only name being floated. According to Puck's Matt Belloni, other contenders included Edward Berger, Edgar Wright, Paul King, and, for a time, Alfonso Cuarón. But Cuarón reportedly bowed out, and Villeneuve, a lifelong Bond fan, rose to the top. Villeneuve is currently locked into Dune: Messiah , set for release in December 2026. He's also juggling a stack of high-profile projects, including Cleopatra , Rendezvous with Rama , and an adaptation of Annie Jacobsen's Nuclear War: A Scenario . There's no word when he'll get around to making Bond, but the franchise is in good hands. He's already proven he can handle enormous IP with his signature auteur style. Both Dune films raked in critical acclaim, over $1.1 billion globally, and 15 Oscar nominations (eight wins). Then there's Blade Runner 2049 , which, despite its modest box office, has only grown in appreciation since its release. Villeneuve, who will executive produce alongside Tanya Lapointe, Amy Pascal, and David Heyman, clearly doesn't take this assignment lightly. He said in a statement: 'Some of my earliest movie-going memories are connected to 007. I grew up watching James Bond films with my father, ever since Dr. No with Sean Connery. I'm a die-hard Bond fan. 'To me, he's sacred territory. I intend to honor the tradition and open the path for many new missions to come. This is a massive responsibility, but also, incredibly exciting for me and a huge honor. Amy, David, and I are absolutely thrilled to bring him back to the screen. Thank you to Amazon MGM Studios for their trust.' Mike Hopkins, head of Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios, added: 'We are honored that Denis has agreed to direct James Bond's next chapter. He is a cinematic master, whose filmography speaks for itself. From Blade Runner 2049 to Arrival to the Dune films, he has delivered compelling worlds, dynamic visuals, complex characters, and—most importantly—the immersive storytelling that global audiences yearn to experience in theaters. James Bond is in the hands of one of today's greatest filmmakers and we cannot wait to get started on 007's next adventure.' Producers Pascal and Heyman added, 'Denis Villeneuve has been in love with James Bond movies since he was a little boy. It was always his dream to make this movie, and now it's ours, too. We are lucky to be in the hands of this extraordinary filmmaker.' No word yet on casting or a title or even what Bond's next mission will look like. But, under Villeneuve's direction, I have no doubt he'll do something awesome with it!

Dachshund's Elation Over Seeing Mom After Day Care Is Full of the Purest Love
Dachshund's Elation Over Seeing Mom After Day Care Is Full of the Purest Love originally appeared on PetHelpful. Most dogs love to go to doggy day care, and it's a great way to get them socialization, especially if you work a lot or are away from home during the day. Cannoli is an adorable mini long-haired Dachshund that enjoys going, but what he likes even more is coming home to his mom. His mom shared a video on TikTok of the greeting she receives when Cannoli arrives home from day care. It's the cutest thing you'll see today! Make sure your sound is on so that you can hear Cannoli's little squeaks of happiness and love. This video literally made my day! I watched it a handful of times because you can see the pure joy on Cannoli's face and hear it in mom's voice, too! Not to mention he's a gorgeous little guy! Commenters also loved the sweet video. @Take a Little Tripp swooned, "Aww the little whines are so cute!!!" @RoxietheRoxStarDoxie shared, "Best feeling in the world. It never gets old."Even though I work from home, I still have to work and focus on my job, much to my dog's dismay. That's why sending her to doggy day care a couple of days a week is something we've been considering. Not only do dogs get to socialize with other dogs, but they also get to socialize with other humans too, which is just as important. If you have an active dog, they get to burn off energy that they usually have to keep bundled up until you get home. And by the time you get home, they might be too tired to do anything other than nap…if they even make it that far! Most towns and cities have at least a couple day cares to choose from; in our city, they seem to be everywhere! If you're not sure which one is right for your dog, they usually offer a time to have you and your pooch come in to check it out. Asking friends for a recommendation is a good idea; just make sure to do your research to make sure the ones you are looking at are reputable and have the services you're looking for. You can expect to pay on average around $40 a day. Speaking of services, some daycares even offer grooming and training services, which can give you more time to spend on the weekends doing something fun with your pooch instead of running errands!
