HK Actor Nick Cheung Seen Arguing Over A Taxi? Here's The Truth Behind Viral Video

Hype Malaysia4 days ago
While celebrities try to maintain a clean image, there have been instances of them getting caught in the act for unruly behaviour. Recently, Hong Kong actor Nick Cheung (張家輝) was spotted arguing with a man over a taxi in Hong Kong – but is there more to the story?
Earlier this week, a video surfaced on social media, depicting the actor on the streets of Hong Kong. As he was about to hop into a taxi, a man in a grey shirt reached out to the door handle, seemingly trying to 'steal' the ride. However, Nick quickly grabbed the man's hand and the two began a brief argument on the street while several passersby looked on. After dodging an attack from the man, the actor then got in the taxi and left the scene.
There is no mention of when the video was taken or who shared it. Additionally, since the video was filmed from a distance, viewers couldn't make out the conversation between the two men. Nevertheless, the video quickly went viral, with many netizens discussing what happened. Interestingly, some also noted that the way Nick dodged the man's attack made the video look like a movie scene.
Soon after the video made headlines, a Threads user by the handle @/choi_san_keung shared a post on the platform to explain the situation. The post wrote, 'Actually, this happened a while ago. Please don't give me any more scorn. I usually have nightmares, not temper tantrums. Please don't make reckless assumptions. I'm sorry (for this).' While the post may seem random to the masses, the context lies with the user.
For those unaware, @/choi_san_keung is actually Nick Cheung, who started the Threads account to promote his 2025 movie, 'Peg O' My Heart (贖夢)'. In fact, the video was shot during the filming. In the comment section of the Threads post, many fans welcomed the 'return' of Choi San Keung (蔡辛強), quipping that they missed his random postings. Some also wondered if the clip going viral was a hint that Nick might reprise his role in a future project.
While it was confusing at first, it's good to know that Nick didn't get into an actual fight with a stranger. Check out the video below:

'Skibidi' and 'tradwife': Social media words added to Cambridge dictionary

Other new phrases include 'lewk', used to describe a unique fashion look and popularised by RuPaul's Drag Race, and 'inspo', short for inspiration. -- PHOTO: UNSPLASH LONDON/SINGAPORE (AFP): Words popularised by Gen Z and Gen Alpha including "skibidi", "delulu", and "tradwife" are among 6,000 new entries to the online edition of the Cambridge Dictionary over the last year, its publisher said Monday. Cambridge University Press said tradwife, a portmanteau of traditional wife, reflected "a growing, controversial Instagram and TikTok trend that embraces traditional gender roles". The dictionary also took on the challenge of defining skibidi, a word popularised in online memes, as a term which had "different meanings such as cool or bad, or can be used with no real meaning". The gibberish word was spread by a YouTube channel called "Skibidi Toilet" and is associated with the mindless, "brain rot" content found on social media and consumed by Gen Alpha's overwhelmingly digital lifestyle. The dictionary defined delulu, derived from the word delusional, as "believing things that are not real or true, usually because you choose to". As an example, it cited a 2025 speech in parliament where Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese used the phrase "delulu with no solulu". "It's not every day you get to see words like skibidi and delulu make their way into the Cambridge Dictionary," said Colin McIntosh, Lexical Programme manager at the Cambridge Dictionary. "We only add words where we think they'll have staying power. Internet culture is changing the English language and the effect is fascinating to observe and capture in the Dictionary." Other new phrases include "lewk", used to describe a unique fashion look and popularised by RuPaul's Drag Race, and "inspo", short for inspiration. Work from home culture has given rise to "mouse jiggler", referring to a way to pretend to work when you are not. There is also "forever chemical", man-made chemicals that stay in the environment for years and have gained traction as concerns grow about the irreversible impact of climate change on the health of humans and the plant. - AFP

Court orders Caprice to archive Instagram posts on entrepreneur

Rapper Caprice is being sued by entrepreneur Asyraf Khalid over Instagram posts that allegedly accused him of abusing his family ties and influence. (Bernama pic) PETALING JAYA : The Kuala Lumpur High Court today ordered rapper Caprice to archive 31 allegedly defamatory posts about an entrepreneur from his Instagram account. Lawyer Abdul Hakeem Aiman said Justice Anand Ponnudurai made the ruling after allowing an ex parte ad interim injunction sought by Asyraf Khalid against Caprice, whose real name is Ariz Ramli, 39. 'All publications issued by the defendant (Caprice) relating to or referring to the plaintiff (Asyraf) must be archived starting today until the disposal of the inter parte injunction application, which will be heard on Sept 2,' Bernama quoted Hakeem as saying. He said Caprice has not yet filed a statement of defence. Asyraf, 33, filed the suit on Aug 4, claiming that Caprice had published 31 allegedly defamatory posts against him on his Instagram profile between July 30 and Aug 2. He said the defamatory posts involved a podcast where a personal trainer, Murad Zaidi, appeared. 'I invited Murad so that he could share his experience in running a gym and the challenges he faced,' he said. Asyraf claimed Caprice's posts subjected him to public ridicule, dragged his father, Khalid Mohamad Jiwa (better known as Datuk K), into the dispute and tarnished his family's reputation. Asyraf is seeking an injunction to stop Caprice and his associates from repeating or sharing the posts and their removal from social media within 24 hours of judgment. He is also seeking a public video apology on all of Caprice's platforms, as well as general damages, aggravated damages, costs and other relief deemed appropriate by the court.

Court orders Caprice to archive defamatory posts on entrepreneur

Published on: Monday, August 18, 2025 Published on: Mon, Aug 18, 2025 By: Bernama Text Size: KUALA LUMPUR: The High Court here today ordered rapper Caprice ( pic ) to archive 31 allegedly defamatory posts against entrepreneur Muhammad Asyraf Khalid that were uploaded to his Instagram. Lawyer Abdul Hakeem Aiman, who represented Muhammad Asyraf, said Judge Datuk Anand Ponnudurai made the decision after allowing an application for an ex-parte ad-interim injunction in a suit filed by the stepson of Biduanita Negara, Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin against Caprice, whose real name is Ariz Ramli, 39. "All publications issued by the defendant (Caprice) relating to or referring to the plaintiff (Asyraf) must be archived starting today until the disposal of the inter-parte injunction application which will be heard on Sept 2," the lawyer told the media after the ex-parte injunction hearing proceedings which took place in chambers. Meanwhile, Abdul Hakeem said that so far the defendant has not filed a statement of defence to respond to the suit. Muhammad Asyraf, 33, filed the suit on August 4, claiming that Caprice had published 31 allegedly defamatory posts against the plaintiff on his Instagram from July 30 to August 2. The plaintiff claimed that the defamatory posts, among other things, meant that the plaintiff was a disgrace for inviting Murad Zaidi, who was his personal trainer, on an Audio Siar (Podcast), simply to give the man a chance to defend himself via social media, while ignoring the injuries suffered by the victim due to the man's actions. "I invited Murad so that he could share his experience running a gym and the challenges he faced, as well as provide an explanation for Murad's statement via Instagram which denied all the allegations against him and his family," said Muhammad Asyraf in the suit. Muhammad Asyraf said the posting also meant that the plaintiff was the son of Datuk Seri Khalid Mohammad Jiwa or Dato K who is the husband of Siti Nurhaliza and in that capacity the plaintiff had abused money, power, influence and family ties to supposedly trap the defendant. According to him, although he had decided not to broadcast the full episode of Murad Zaidi as Caprice wanted, Caprice still continued to attack him. He said Caprice's reckless and irresponsible actions had caused the plaintiff to be insulted and hated by the public in addition to dragging Muhammad Asyraf's father into the dispute and giving an untrue and shameful image. In this regard, he sought an injunction to prevent Caprice, its employees, representatives or agents from publishing, distributing, spreading or repeating defamatory postings whether oral or written against him on any social media platform and to delete the postings on any social media platform within 24 hours from the date of judgment. The plaintiff also requested the defendant to make a public apology via video and publish it on all of the defendant's social media accounts, in addition to claiming general damages, aggravated damages, costs and other relief deemed appropriate by the court. * Follow us on our official WhatsApp channel and Telegram for breaking news alerts and key updates! * Do you have access to the Daily Express e-paper and online exclusive news?
